Zavier Scott the Clear-Cut RB2 in Minnesota

Wednesday, September 24, 9:20 AM

Minnesota Vikings rookie running back Zavier Scott made his presence felt in the team's 48-10 blowout win over the Cincinnati Bengals. Scott logged eight carries for 30 yards and added a 20-yard reception, playing 28% of the snaps in Week 3. With veteran Aaron Jones sidelined by a hamstring injury, Scott helped fill the void and looked comfortable in his role. The rookie flashed upside in the preseason, totaling 157 scrimmage yards on 27 touches across three games, and he now appears to have taken the RB2 role behind starter Jordan Mason. While Mason remains the clear workhorse, Scott's growing involvement makes him a player to keep an eye on. From a fantasy perspective, Scott is not yet a must-add, but he's on the radar in deeper leagues as his role continues to expand.

Jordan James Cleared For Week 3

Saturday, September 20, 4:59 AM

San Francisco 49ers running back Jordan James (finger) logged a week of full practices for the first time this season and carries no designation ahead of Sunday's game against the Arizona Cardinals. The rookie missed the season opener while recovering from a broken finger suffered in August, and was a healthy scratch in Week 2 after logging just one full practice that week. Expectations for James in Week 3 should be kept to a minimum. The 49ers have employed a steady rotation of Christian McCaffrey and Brian Robinson Jr., with third-stringer Isaac Guerendo yet to see an offensive snap. Unless McCaffrey or Robinson succumbs to an injury, James can be left off fantasy football rosters.
