DraftKings Week 11 Picks
This week we actually get a ton of tough matchups for star players, setting us up for a lot of mid-to-cheap options that can win you some money.
The dust has settled from the trade deadline, and we now have some data on how teams are looking with or without their players. We've also had a few injuries that further tank some fantasy values (cough Dallas cough).
That being said, there are plenty of great matchups once again this week that we can pair with more expensive options at QB/TE, so there are therefore plenty of ways to build a good lineup.
Let's dive into Week 11 of DraftKings picks.
Quarterbacks
Josh Allen (Buffalo Bills) - $7800 vs KC
Josh Allen is coming in as the second-highest Quarterback salary, but it may be worth every penny this weekend.
Allen takes on the 10-0 Chiefs in Buffalo in what should be a high-scoring, super-exciting matchup. Allen has now scored at least 20 fantasy points in his last five games, and although the KC defense has been stout, Josh has too many skills/weapons to be held in check.
Wide Receiver Amari Cooper should hopefully return to the field after sitting out with a wrist injury, which would be very welcome in the Bills' offense.
Allen has 17 passing touchdowns and 4 rushing touchdowns so far this season to go along with his 2281 yards (and 261 yards rushing). Hopefully, he can expand those numbers this weekend.
Russell Wilson (Pittsburgh Steelers) - $5900 vs BAL
Is Dangeruss back? Probably not, but he has strung together three straight wins in as many starts and has been good at limiting turnovers.
So far Wilson has thrown for 737 yards, six touchdowns, and only one interception in his three starts for the Steelers. If anything the move to the Steelers gave him another chance to show he still has it after a disappointing Denver career.
Baltimore ranks 31st in most points allowed to Quarterbacks and has largely struggled to stop the pass this season, giving up 428 yards to Joe Burrow last week.
Wilson has the offensive weapons to move the ball against this Raven team, and opposing QB Lamar Jackson will always make games interesting.
If you need a cheaper option at QB this week, Wilson is worth the shot.
Running Backs
De'Von Achane (Miami Dolphins) - $7200 vs LV
The Rams must have game-planned around De'Von Achane on Monday night because they limited him to 37 yards on the ground and only 15 yards on five receptions. He still managed to put up 10 fantasy points on a bad night, so at least that is promising.
This week he faces another defense that he should be able to torch: Las Vegas. Las Vegas currently ranks 27th in points allowed to Running Backs, so Achane has another opportunity to shine.
Tyreek Hill's status is up in the air after news came out that he has been playing with a torn ligament in his wrist (could explain why he is "struggling" this season), making Achane an interesting fantasy player to watch.
On the one hand, it seems like his usage will remain very high as the Dolphins try to turn things around. On the other hand, the Rams stuffed the run game just by knowing Hill isn't 100%.
Still, Achane is so heavily involved and the Raiders' defense is nothing to worry about, so he should bounce back nicely.
David Montgomery (Detroit Lions) - $6500 vs JAX
I didn't go with any other Lion offensive pieces this week, but I did want at least a part of what should be a beatdown of the Jaguars.
Montgomery has been a beast so far this season, rushing for 520 yards and nine touchdowns. He also has 18 catches for 185 yards.
As of now, Montgomery is averaging double-digit touches and 15.8 fantasy points per game. The Lions have one of the best offensive lines in the NFL, which will show pretty quickly against this Jacksonville team.
The Lions will probably try to get up early and coast to a victory, so Montgomery is in prime position for plenty of work and a scoring opportunity or two.
Nick Chubb (Cleveland Browns) - $6000 @ NO
Nick Chubb and the Cleveland Browns looked pretty bad in Week Nine, scoring only 10 points against the Charger defense.
Now the Chargers do appear to have a solid defense, but they shouldn't have much of an excuse against the Saints in Week 11.
First off, the Browns had the Bye week to rest up and get a gameplan together, especially after a few offensive roster changes have occurred over the last few weeks.
Secondly, the Saints currently rank 29th in points allowed to opposing Running Backs, and they shipped out their best corner last week at the deadline. So safe to say the Saints' defense isn't as good as it used to be.
Chubb now has three games back and has struggled in that offense, but if he's going to turn it around, it has to be this week.
Wide Receivers
George Pickens (Pittsburgh Steelers) - $7000 vs BAL
George Pickens has gone from $5800 to $7000 over the last few weeks, so you know he has been heating up with Russell Wilson under center.
If you do go with Russ this week, Pickens is a great pairing against a struggling Baltimore secondary. I mean Ja'Marr Chase just went for 264 and three touchdowns against this defense. Pickens might not be at a Chase level, but it still is a great opportunity.
Pickens had a great game last week against the Commanders, catching five-of-seven targets for 91 yards and one touchdown. Both defenses seem to be halfway decent at stopping the run, so this will be up to how much Jackson and Wilson will have to throw to move the ball.
Pickens is in line for a 100-yard day and is always a threat to score.
Courtland Sutton (Denver Broncos) - $5900 vs ATL
I thought about having Bo Nix in my QB section again, but decided to just go with one of his receivers instead. Courtland Sutton has quietly been heating up over the last three weeks, averaging 10 targets a game.
In that time frame, Sutton has put up two 100-yard games and one touchdown. It appears as though Sutton has built up some chemistry with the rookie QB, and it almost led them to an upset over the Chiefs (if the FG wasn't blocked).
This week Denver faces Atlanta in the Mile High City, which should give him a slight edge over the Atlanta defenders.
Jauan Jennings (San Francisco 49ers) - $5300 vs SEA
Brock Purdy and company are almost back to full strength thanks to the return of CMC. Somehow they only squeaked past the Buccaneers, but it was still nice to see that everyone in the offense performed pretty well for fantasy.
Jauan Jennings has had a nice year thanks to injuries to Brandon Aiyuk and Deebo Samuel (who is back now), but even nicer is that he had an 11 target, seven receptions, and 93 yards even with Deebo, CMC, and Kittle on the field.
This game is in San Francisco against a bottom-of-the-barrel Seattle defense that gives up plenty of points to Wide Receivers. If the Seahawks can get DK Metcalf back, it should make for an interesting matchup.
If you want to take an even cheaper shot, go with rookie Ricky Pearsall at $4900. But with so many mouths to feed in that offense, Jennings is probably a safer bet.
Cedric Tillman (Cleveland Browns) - $5300 @ NO
If you so choose to skip over Nick Chubb (I wouldn't totally blame you), Cedric Tillman is a great cheap option that many probably forgot about over Cleveland's Bye week.
Tillman had been catching seven passes a game over the last three weeks, scoring three times and eclipsing 75 yards in each. Tillman seems to be a deep threat with double-digit targets, making him an exciting fantasy option, especially with Jameis Winston under center.
This week the rested Browns take on a depleted New Orleans defense, one that they should be able to throw on plenty.
At only $5300, Tillman is a must-play until he proves us otherwise.
Tight Ends
George Kittle (San Francisco 49ers) - $6000 vs SEA
It's hard to go away from one of the best fantasy Tight Ends of this season, so we will keep riding the flames with George Kittle until he proves otherwise.
Kittle continued his dominant play this past weekend, catching three passes for 57 yards and a touchdown. Now the touchdown did save his fantasy day, but he's always a threat to score so it's not crazy to think he will do it again against Seattle.
Seattle currently ranks 22nd in points allowed to Tight Ends, so it is a pretty good matchup for Kittle.
The addition of CMC did impact his targets, but we can give it another week or two to see if that will be Kittles' new norm.
TJ Hockenson (Minnesota Vikings) - $4700 @ TEN
TJ Hockenson was one of the brighter parts of the Minnesota offense this weekend, catching eight passes for 72 yards in their embarrassing 12-7 win over the Jaguars.
Sam Darnold didn't help by throwing three interceptions, but this Minnesota offense just is too good to keep putting up duds like that.
Hockenson only has two games to his name, but he at least doubled his targets/catches in that time. His real targets are probably somewhere in the middle (6-8?), and a matchup against Tennessee might be perfect for him to utilize those targets to put up good fantasy numbers.
With opposing defenses looking to shut down Justin Jefferson, Hockenson could shine once again.
Defense
Detroit Lions - $3800 vs JAX
I have to go with the most expensive defense again this week, so sorry in advance.
The Lions' defense has put up at least 5 fantasy points in every game they've played this season, and this week they face arguably one of the worse offenses in the NFL: the Jaguars.
The Jaguars have been riddled with injuries, including Christian Kirk, Trevor Lawrence, and Travis Etienne, all of whom have missed time in recent weeks.
Even with Etienne and Lawrence's (possible) return this week, the Lions have a great run defense and plenty of defensive backs that will make life miserable for the Jaguar offense.
The Lions have 13 interceptions, five fumble recoveries, and 24 sacks in only nine games played this season. Oh, and this game is in Detroit.
