TNF DraftKings DFS Showdown Patriots at Jets

For the second straight week, we get a divisional matchup on Thursday Night Football. The Patriots will visit the Jets in a game that has a projected point total of just 38.5. This is the lowest total we’ve seen so far on TNF, so it’s a good time to get different with your lineups!

When it comes to building a showdown lineup, it’s important to make sure that it correlates. If your captain is a wide receiver, you want his quarterback as one of your FLEX players. Same goes for if you have a quarterback as your captain. In this case, you’re going to want 2-3 pass catchers to go along with the quarterback.

In this article, I will be putting the players in order of how much exposure I’m going to have. Each game will feature 2-3 options at captain, which are high-priority plays, followed by flex options to round it out.

Captain

WR Garrett Wilson ($15,300) gets the slight edge just based off of savings. Through two weeks, he has a target share just shy of 30%. Wilson just hasn’t been able to do a whole lot with the targets he is seeing. He’s failed to score more than 12 DraftKings points in either of his first two games. Wilson is going to be popular in the captain spot tonight.

RB Breece Hall ($17,700) With all the savings on this week’s slate, paying up for Breece Hall is doable. The matchup isn’t very appealing on paper, as the Patriots have held running backs in check through two weeks. However, you can’t compare Breece Hall to what they have faced thus far. This is a perfect game-script for a running back like Hall to smash. If you can afford him and still get Wilson in there, have at it.

FLEX

DST Jets ($5,400) In what is expected to be a low-scoring game, this is a great spot for the Jets defense. Jacoby Brissett has only completed 58% of his passes through two games and has yet to throw an interception. This will be his toughest test thus far.

WR Ja’Lynn Polk ($4,000) The second round pick out of Washington is off to a slow start, so let’s take advantage of this price. Polk played 60% of the Patriots offensive snaps this past week, which was behind just K.J. Osborn. Last week was a bit of an outlier, as Hunter Henry saw half of the Patriots’ targets (12). Obviously, we can’t expect Henry to sustain this type of target share moving forward. Polk should continue to see his role increase.

TE Tyler Conklin ($2,800) It’s only a matter of time before we see Tyler Conklin have a role in this Jets offense. He’s played over 90% of the offensive snaps in each of the first two weeks. Conklin has also run just one fewer route than Allen Lazard, and seven less than Garrett Wilson. It’s tough to beat this price considering his struggles through two weeks. Conklin is the best value on FantasyData’s NFL Optimizer of all players priced above $1,000.

RB Antonio Gibson ($3,600) Gibson’s 96 rush yards last week were the most he has had since week 18 of the 2021 season(146). He has the fourth highest breakaway rate of all running backs this season with at least 15 rush attempts according to FantasyData’s Advanced Efficiency Metrics. While Gibson has primarily been a receiving back over the course of his career, he has just one reception to his name this year. We have to remember that the Patriots have been in two very tight games to start the year. As six point underdogs this week, we could see Gibson’s receiving numbers increase if they’re trailing early.

QB Aaron Rodgers ($10,000) He’s pretty easy to fit into the FLEX, especially if we’re fading Stevenson and Brissett. Rodgers should be locked in if you decide to go with Garrett Wilson as your captain.
