Aaron Fuller News

Caught up in roster cuts

The Seahawks waived Fuller on Tuesday, John Boyle of the team's official site reports.

Analysis: Fuller appeared in one game with Seattle last season, when he recorded just one offensive snap and two snaps on special teams. He spent the entire 2021 campaign on the team's practice squad, and Fuller seems a likely candidate to find himself in a similar spot for 2022.

Just one catch

Fuller caught one of three targets for five yards in Friday's 27-26 preseason loss to the Cowboys.

Analysis: Fuller was targeted 15 times during the preseason, but he produced just five catches for 48 yards. He'll likely land on the practice squad this year.

Targeted 10 times

Fuller caught three of 10 targets for 34 yards in Thursday's 27-11 preseason loss to the Bears. He also returned two punts for eight yards.

Analysis: Fuller nearly caught a 17-yard touchdown late in the fourth quarter, but it was ultimately overruled upon video review. The 24-year-old wideout was peppered with targets but did little with the opportunity, though plenty of blame lies on the quarterbacks. Fuller will aim to finish the preseason strong to secure a spot on the 53-man roster.

One catch in loss

Fuller caught one of two targets for nine yards in Saturday's 32-25 preseason loss to the Steelers. He also took one punt return for a one-yard loss.

Analysis: Fuller handled 17 offensive snaps in the loss, which ranked fourth among Seahawks wideouts behind Dareke Young (43), Bo Melton (30) and Cade Johnson (19). The 24-year-old will need to have a strong ending to the preseason to secure a spot on the 53-man roster.

Remaining with Seattle

Fuller signed a reserve/future contract with the Seahawks on Tuesday.

Analysis: Fuller was elevated from the practice squad to the active roster for the season finale and played one offensive snap. He was on the Seahawk's practice squad for the entire 2021 campaign after failing to make the season-opening roster.

Elevated to active roster

Fuller was elevated from the Seahawks' practice squad Saturday, Nathan Rauschenberg of the Seahawks' official site reports.

Analysis: Fuller has spent the entire season on Seattle's practice squad and has yet to appear in a game. That may change Sunday against Arizona, though Fuller figures to play primarily on special teams.

Bound for waivers

Fuller was waived by the Seahawks on Tuesday, John Boyle of the team's official site reports.

Analysis: Fuller caught five passes for 61 yards during the preseason. The Seahawks kept just four wide receivers on their initial 53-man roster, so they're expected to add at least one more player eventually. Meanwhile, Fuller is poised to continue his development on the practice squad.

Future contract with Seattle

The Seahawks signed Fuller to a future contract on Monday, Curtis Crabtree of Sports Radio 950 KJR Seattle reports.

Analysis: Fuller, along with Cody Thompson and Penny Hart, will join the Seahawks' receiver list and their role will most likely be to fill out the bottom of the depth chart. The receiver hasn't made his NFL debut yet.

Waived by Seattle

The Seahawks cut Fuller on Saturday, Michael-Shawn Dugar of The Athletic reports.

Analysis: Fuller signed as an undrafted free agent out of Washington this campaign, but failed to earn a depth role. It's likely that Fuller will clear waivers and land back in Seattle on the team's practice squad for the 2020 campaign.
