Beaux Collins Looking For More Opportunities

New York Giants wide receiver Beaux Collins is a deep-league fantasy dart throw this week due to increased opportunity after Jalin Hyatt was a healthy scratch in Week 8. The undrafted rookie has only six targets on the season for two catches and 25 yards, but his playing time is set to increase as the Giants desperately seek playmakers following major injuries. The Week 9 opponent, the San Francisco 49ers, is a surprisingly welcoming matchup for wide receivers, ranking 21st against the position and allowing an average of 33.81 fantasy points per game to the unit. Furthermore, the 49ers' defense is 31st in sacks, which could give rookie QB Jaxson Dart the time to attempt a few downfield shots to the 6'3" Collins.

Beaux Collins Could Develop Into Key Contributor

New York Giants wide receiver Beaux Collins has the potential to go from undrafted free agent to impact player, Bucky Brooks of NFL.com observes. The former Clemson and Notre Dame wideout made the Giants' 53-man roster after a "spectacular" showing in offseason workouts and training camp. While Collins only caught one pass during the preseason, he made it count on an 80-yard hookup with current starting quarterback Russell Wilson. Malik Nabers, Wan'Dale Robinson, and Darius Slayton are locked in as the Giants' top three receivers, but Jalin Hyatt and Gunner Olszewski haven't offered much production. That could open the door for Collins to emerge as the team's fourth WR sometime during his rookie season.

Beaux Collins Working with Giants Starters

New York Giants wide receiver Beaux Collins worked with the first team offense on Tuesday following the departure of Jalin Hyatt (leg), who exited practice with an apparent leg injury. Star wideout Malik Nabers (toe) is sitting out minicamp with a toe injury. According to Giants reporter Art Stapleton, Collins caught a touchdown from Russell Wilson in 7-on-7 drills and is making an impact as an undrafted rookie free agent. Collins spent three seasons at Clemson before one year at Notre Dame, totalling 132 receptions for 1,780 yards and 14 touchdowns in 48 collegiate games. New York's wide receiver group behind Nabers leaves a lot to be desired, so there's a real path toward making the 53-man roster for Collins. He should be on the radar in deeper dynasty fantasy football setups.
