Panthers Remain Confident In Bryce Young

The Carolina Panthers fired head coach Frank Reich on Monday after a 1-10 start in his first year with the organization, but they remain confident in their investment in rookie quarterback Bryce Young with the first overall pick in this year's draft despite his play not living up to that billing to this point. "We are totally confident in that pick," owner David Tepper said. The shakeup at head coach midway through his first NFL season won't make life any easier on Young as he tries to put forth positive momentum to close out the 2023 campaign. The 22-year-old also doesn't have many playmakers on the offensive side of the ball in Carolina. Young has completed 61.7% of his passes for 1,877 yards, nine touchdowns and eight interceptions in his first 10 NFL starts. He has a chance to put up some decent numbers this weekend in a divisional clash with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Bryce Young Throws For 194 Yards In Week 12

Carolina Panthers quarterback Bryce Young completed 18 of his 31 passes for 194 yards and added three carries for 23 yards and a lost fumble in a 17-10 loss to the Tennessee Titans in Week 12. Young's recent struggles continued in his team's Week 12 loss as he has now gone six straight games without throwing for multiple touchdowns while also failing to throw for over 194 yards in four consecutive contests. The rookie also took four sacks in the loss while the Panthers only were able to gain 258 yards of total offense. Settled in as a low-end QB2 in fantasy moving forward, Young will look to bounce back in Week 13's road matchup against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Bryce Young A Low-End QB2 In Week 12

Carolina Panthers quarterback Bryce Young (thigh) practiced fully all week despite being listed with a thigh injury on the team's practice report. He is listed without an injury on the team's final game status heading into a Week 12 matchup against the Tennessee Titans. The Titans have been solid against quarterbacks this season as they are allowing just the 18th-most fantasy points per game to the position thus far. Young has thrown just four touchdowns over his past five seasons as his debut season has come with plenty of growing pains. Fantasy gamers should treat Young as a low-end QB2 heading into Week 12's matchup.

Bryce Young Practices In Full On Wednesday

Carolina Panthers quarterback Bryce Young (thigh) got in a full practice on Wednesday. Young has been dealing with a thigh issue but it hasn't limited his practice status so far this week. There is a very good chance that he is playing hurt, as is everyone else at the NFL at this point in the season. The rookie signal-caller has thrown for just 1683 yards (62.1% completion rate) to go along with nine touchdowns and eight interceptions in nine games this year. Young is not worth starting in fantasy in Week 12, even if he's facing a porous Titans defense.

Bryce Young Throws For Just 123 Yards In Week 11 Loss

Carolina Panthers quarterback Bryce Young completed 16 of his 29 passes for 123 yards, one touchdown, and one interception while losing a fumble in a 33-10 loss to the Dallas Cowboys in Week 11. Young struggled mightily as a fierce Dallas defense sacked him seven times in the blowout loss. His lone touchdown pass went to Tommy Tremble in the third quarter as the Panthers struggled to get much going in a tough matchup against the Cowboys. The rookie signal-caller has had a difficult time of late as he's thrown just four touchdowns and four interceptions over his past five games. Young will hope to bounce back in Week 12's road matchup against the Tennessee Titans.

Bryce Young Draws Tough Matchup In Week 11

Carolina Panthers quarterback Bryce Young (thigh) got in a full practice on Thursday and should be good to go for his team's Week 11 matchup against the Dallas Cowboys. Young will face one of the tougher tests of his short career against a Dallas defense that has been limiting opposing quarterbacks to just the 21st-most fantasy points per game thus far. The No. 1 pick in last year's draft has struggled of late as he's only thrown one touchdown and three interceptions over his past two games. Fantasy gamers should be looking elsewhere for a starting QB in Week 11 as Young settles in as a low-end QB2.

Bryce Young Throws For 185 Yards In Week 10

Carolina Panthers quarterback Bryce Young completed 21 of his 38 passes for 185 yards with zero touchdowns or interceptions and added 18 yards on three carries in a 16-13 loss to the Chicago Bears in Week 10's Thursday night game. Young was unable to capitalize on a plus matchup against a weak Chicago defense as he was held without a touchdown pass for just the second time all season. On the bright side, he did not turn the ball over after throwing three interceptions in his previous game. Overall, fantasy gamers would like to see more out of the No. 1 overall pick. Young now has thrown eight touchdowns and seven interceptions in eight games in his rookie season. He will face a difficult challenge against a fierce Dallas Cowboys defense in Week 11.

Bryce Young A QB2 In Week 10

Carolina Panthers quarterback Bryce Young will take on the Chicago Bears on the road in Week 10's Thursday night game. Young is coming off his worst game as a pro as he threw three interceptions and just one touchdown in a loss to the Indianapolis Colts in Week 9. The Bears represent a plus matchup for Young as they are allowing 26.9 points per game, the fifth-most in the NFL this season. Furthermore, the Bears are allowing the most fantasy points per game to opposing quarterbacks this season, putting Young in an excellent spot in Week 10. He can be treated as a low-end QB2 in fantasy this week.

Bryce Young Throws Three Picks In Loss To Colts

Carolina Panthers quarterback Bryce Young completed 24 of his 39 passes for 173 yards, one touchdown, and three interceptions while adding 41 yards on five carries in a 27-13 loss to the Indianapolis Colts in Week 9. Young had a hard time against the Colts' pass rush as they got to him for four sacks in the loss. His lone touchdown pass went to D.J. Chark Jr. on a five-yard toss in the third quarter. Young now has thrown eight touchdowns compared to seven interceptions in his debut season. Settling in as an inconsistent QB2 in fantasy, Young will look to bounce back against the Chicago Bears in Week 10.

Bryce Young A High-End QB2 In Week 9

Carolina Panthers quarterback Bryce Young will take on the Indianapolis Colts at home in Week 9. Young is starting to come on strong of late as he's thrown five touchdowns over his past three games. This weekend he draws an excellent matchup against a Colts defense that is allowing the fourth-most fantasy points per game to opposing quarterbacks. Young has been tough to trust in single-quarterback leagues for much of the season but he's in a great spot and could put together a quality outing in Week 9. He's on the map as a high-end QB2 worth a spot start for fantasy gamers who need a quarterback.

Bryce Young Throws For 235 Yards, TD In Week 8 Win

Carolina Panthers quarterback Bryce Young completed 22 of his 31 passes for 235 yards and a touchdown while adding four carries for 11 yards in a 15-13 win over the Houston Texans in Week 8. In a battle between Young and C.J. Stroud, the first two picks in the 2023 NFL draft, it was Young who emerged victorious in leading Carolina to their first win of the season. Young's lone touchdown pass went to Tommy Tremble in the second quarter in the win. Settling in as a low-upside QB2 in fantasy, the rookie signal-caller will now prepare to take on the Indianapolis Colts at home in Week 9.

Bryce Young A QB2 In Week 8

Carolina Panthers quarterback Bryce Young comes out of his bye to face off against the Houston Texans at home in Week 8. Young has been trending up of late as he's passed for four touchdowns over his past two games after throwing just two scores across the first three games of the season. The Texans represent a plus matchup for Young as they are allowing the ninth-most fantasy points per game to quarterbacks in 2023. That being said, Young hasn't shown enough upside to be treated as anything more than a low-end QB2 in fantasy heading into Week 8.

Bryce Young Throws For 217 Yards, TD In Week 6 Loss

Carolina Panthers quarterback Bryce Young completed 23 of his 38 passes for 217 yards and a touchdown in a 42-21 loss to the Miami Dolphins in Week 6. Young only managed one touchdown pass, an eight-yarder to Adam Thielen in the first quarter, but he did take care of the football in the blowout loss. The Panthers got off to a hot start as they scored twice in the first quarter and were holding onto a 14-0 lead heading into the second. The offense couldn't get much going after that as the team was shut out until a defensive touchdown in the fourth quarter. Young has now made five starts in his rookie season, compiling 967 passing yards, six touchdowns, and four interceptions. The Panthers will be on their bye in Week 7 before they face the Houston Texans at home in Week 8.

Bryce Young A QB2 Vs. Miami

Carolina Panthers quarterback Bryce Young is coming off the best game of his career as he threw three touchdowns in a loss to the Detroit Lions in Week 5. He will head down to Miami to face off against an explosive Dolphins offense in Week 6. The Dolphins have been generous to opposing offenses, having allowed 27.0 points per game, seventh-most in the NFL. From a fantasy perspective, Miami is giving up the eighth-most fantasy points per game to quarterbacks through five games. Thanks to the plus matchup, Young is worth a look as a QB2 and as a cheap DFS option heading into Week 6.

Panthers To Simplify Things For Bryce Young

The Carolina Panthers plan to simplify things moving forward for rookie quarterback Bryce Young with the team getting off to an 0-5 start. "When you're 0-5... the answer is to do less," head coach Frank Reich said. The Panthers are expected to cut down on verbiage in the offense and the things that Young is tasked with doing at the line of scrimmage before he snaps the ball. This isn't suddenly going to make Young look like a grizzled veteran, but it's important to note and important for his development the rest of the year. The 22-year-old looked much better in the Week 5 loss to the Detroit Lions and even threw three touchdowns, but he'll remain a low-end QB2 option in superflex leagues for the foreseeable future, including in Week 6 against the Miami Dolphins.

Bryce Young Tosses Three TDs, Two Picks In Week 5 Loss

Carolina Panthers quarterback Bryce Young completed 25 of his 41 passes for 247 yards, three touchdowns, and two interceptions while adding a four-yard rush in a 42-24 loss to the Detroit Lions in Week 5. Young posted the first multi-touchdown game of his short career, although he finished with his second two-interception of the season. The rookie signal-caller threw his touchdown passes to Tommy Tremble, D.J. Chark Jr., and Adam Thielen in the loss. Young now has thrown for 750 yards, five touchdowns, and four interceptions through four games. He will make his next start against the Miami Dolphins on the road in Week 6.

Bryce Young A QB2 In Week 5

Carolina Panthers quarterback Bryce Young will head on the road to face off against the Detroit Lions in Week 5. Young is still looking for the first multi-touchdown game of his career as he passed for 204 scoreless yards in a Week 4 loss to the Minnesota Vikings. He draws a decent matchup against a Detroit defense that is allowing the 15th-most fantasy points per game to opposing quarterbacks through four games. Young has yet to show enough upside to trust as a starting quarterback in fantasy, leaving him outside of the top-20 options at the position heading into Week 5.

Bryce Young Throws For 204 Yards In Week 4

Carolina Panthers quarterback Bryce Young completed 25 of his 32 passes for 204 yards and added 10 yards on two carries with a lost fumble in a 21-13 loss to the Minnesota Vikings in Week 4. Young did not throw any touchdowns or interceptions in the contest. The rookie signal-caller missed his team's game in Week 3 with an ankle injury but he appeared to emerge from Week 4 without any issues. Young has now thrown just two touchdowns to go along with two interceptions in three contests. He will face off against the Detroit Lions on the road in Week 5.

Bryce Young Set To Return On Sunday

Carolina Panthers rookie quarterback Bryce Young (ankle) is off the final Week 4 injury report on Friday and is good to go for Sunday's game against the Minnesota Vikings. The writing was on the wall for Young to return this weekend after he returned to a full practice on Wednesday. The 22-year-old first overall pick tweaked his ankle in Week 2 and was held out of the Week 3 loss to the Seattle Seahawks. The team's passing game picked up with veteran Andy Dalton under center, but Young will return to a pretty strong matchup against a porous Vikings defense. However, he could be without top RB Miles Sanders (groin). Young hasn't looked very good so far in his first two NFL games, but he'll be an upside QB2 in superflex leagues in a promising matchup in his return.

Bryce Young Expected To Play In Week 4

Carolina Panthers rookie quarterback Bryce Young (ankle) said he's feeling "great" and is expected to play in Week 4 against the Minnesota Vikings this Sunday. Young isn't concerned at all that his sprained right ankle will limit him after he sat out the Week 3 loss to the Seattle Seahawks. He looked so good in Wednesday's practice that head coach Frank Reich said the No. 1 overall pick was trending toward starting against Minnesota, barring a setback. Young has impressed the team in practices, but he has yet to impress in his first two NFL games. The 22-year-old will have a much easier matchup against a weak Vikings defense if he plays this weekend, but he'll still be nothing more than a low-end QB2 play in superflex leagues.
