ESPN's Dan Graziano writes that he expects the Carolina Panthers to pick up quarterback Bryce Young's fifth-year option for the 2027 season, but that there is uncertainty about Young's future in Carolina beyond his rookie contract. The number one overall pick in the 2023 NFL draft, Young has rebounded from a horrendous rookie season over the past two years, most notably leading Carolina to a 7-5 record in his starts this season. However, questions remain about the 24-year-old's true franchise-leading upside. Across 12 starts in 2025, Young has completed 63.4% of his pass attempts for 2,337 yards, 18 touchdowns, and nine interceptions. He hasn't exactly had an amazing supporting cast around him in Carolina, but Young has also averaged an extremely underwhelming six yards per pass attempt across his 42 career NFL games. It appears as though the Panthers are committed to Young in the short term, but remain in wait-and-see mode as far as handing him a contract extension.

Carolina Panthers quarterback Bryce Young led his team to a big upset win over the Los Angeles Rams in Week 13, completing 15 of 20 passes for 206 yards and three touchdowns to go with five carries for 23 yards. Young bounced back after a disappointing game last Monday night against the San Francisco 49ers, consistently showing up in the biggest moments of the game. His first touchdown came on a swing pass to Chuba Hubbard on third down that Hubbard turned into a 35-yard score, while both of his other touchdowns came on pivotal fourth downs on beautiful throws. The Panthers leaned into the run more with 35 total running back carries after just nine last week in San Francisco to help put Young in more favorable situations. The third-year signal caller hasn't been consistent game to game, but he's delivered in some big spots and helped lead the Panthers to a massive upset win over arguably the best team in football in the Rams. Young and the Panthers will ride this momentum into their Week 14 bye before three big divisional games in the final four weeks.

Bryce Young is not worthy of consideration for fantasy lineups in Week 13. In Week 12, the Carolina QB logged 10.3 fantasy points and one passing touchdown. He also completed 18-for-29 attempts for 169 passing yards and threw two interceptions. In the past four weeks, Young scored less than 11 fantasy points in three games and surpassed 200 passing yards only once. Carolina faces the Los Angeles Rams in Week 13. The Rams rank fifth in Fantasy Points Per Game allowed to QBs this season. The Rams' pass defense has also registered 12 interceptions, which is the third-most in the league. Due to the unfavorable matchup against Los Angeles and underwhelming fantasy totals on the year, Young should be benched in all formats. Fantasy players should consider an alternative if available in Superflex leagues.

Carolina Panthers quarterback Bryce Young followed up his best performance of the season in Week 11 with another underwhelming outing in Week 12's 20-9 loss to the 49ers. The third-year QB went 18-for-29 for 169 yards with one TD pass. He also threw two interceptions, including one in the end zone, and registered only 10.3 fantasy points. Through 11 games, Young has scored 20-plus points only twice while averaging 13.3 Fantasy Points Per Game. The Panthers will have a tough matchup for Young in Week 13 against the Los Angeles Rams, who rank fifth in Fantasy Points Per Game allowed to QBs. The Rams' pass defense has registered 12 interceptions this season, which is tied for the third-most in the league. Considering his mediocre fantasy totals for the year and the terrible matchup against Los Angeles, fantasy players should leave Young on the bench in all formats. You should even consider an alternative in superflex leagues if possible.

Bryce Young is coming off the best performance of his NFL career. In Week 11, Young finished with three passing touchdowns, no interceptions, and set a new Panthers single-game franchise record with 448 passing yards. He was also the fantasy QB2 for the week and earned a season-high 31.8 fantasy points. Carolina faces the San Francisco 49ers in Week 12. The Niners' defense continues to be riddled with injuries. San Francisco ranks 24th in Fantasy Points Per Game allowed to QBs and has surrendered the second-most passing yards (2,817) in the league this season. Last week, Arizona QB Jacoby Brissett completed 47 passes for 452 yards and two TDs against the Niners. Fantasy players looking for a streaming option in deeper leagues should consider Young. He may produce quality fantasy totals for Week 12 even if he doesn't quite approach last week's numbers.

Carolina Panthers quarterback Bryce Young (ankle) was a full participant in practice on Thursday, according to the team's website. The former No. 1 pick was listed on the injury report with the ankle injury he suffered in last Sunday's win against the Atlanta Falcons, but it didn't prevent him from getting on the field in preparation for Week 12 against the San Francisco 49ers. Fantasy managers should monitor how his ankle responds to the next two days of practice, but all signs point to him suiting up on Monday night. He'll look to build off last week's terrific showing that included 448 passing yards, three touchdowns, and zero interceptions. He has QB1 upside, but for now, he ranks in the mid-to-low QB2 tier.

Carolina Panthers quarterback Bryce Young (ankle) had one of the best games of his career in Week 11, completing 31 of 45 pass attempts for 448 yards, three touchdowns, and zero interceptions in a win over the Atlanta Falcons. Unfortunately for Young, he also suffered an ankle injury that may affect his status for Week 12. Young was able to finish the game against Atlanta, but Panthers head coach Dave Canales said the team won't have an update on Young's ankle until Thursday. The Panthers play the San Francisco 49ers on Monday night. If Young can play, he could be in a position to build upon his Week 11 breakout against the shorthanded San Francisco defense. However, Young has topped 200 passing yards just twice in 10 games this season, so expectations should be at least somewhat limited. Young profiles as a solid fantasy QB2 heading into Week 12.

Carolina Panthers head coach Dave Canales said on Monday that the team won't have an update on quarterback Bryce Young's ankle injury until Thursday, according to Joe Person of The Athletic. Person notes that this is standard operating procedure with Canales during his Monday press conferences. The 24-year-old signal-caller appeared to suffer a serious injury early in Sunday's overtime win against the Atlanta Falcons, but he didn't end up missing a snap and finished with a career day. Young went 31-for-45 passing for 448 yards and three touchdowns in the Week 11 victory, mostly peppering receivers Tetairoa McMillan and Xavier Legette with targets to bring the team back from down 14 points. He could be limited in practice this week, but he should be able to play in Week 12 against the San Francisco 49ers. As long as his ankle doesn't negatively impact him in that game, Young will have high-end QB2 appeal in fantasy against San Fran's banged-up defense.
Nov 17, 2025 3:11 PM EST
Carolina Panthers quarterback Bryce Young completed 31 of his 45 pass attempts for 445 yards, three touchdowns, and zero interceptions during Sunday's Week 11 win over the Atlanta Falcons in overtime. He also took five sacks. Young was banged up in the gritty victory, as he exited twice after a player stepped on his ankle on two different occasions. Both of his departures were brief, though, and he was healthy enough to keep the Panthers in the game before leading a game-winning drive in overtime. Young set a new career-high in passing yards and will look to keep the momentum going against the San Francisco 49ers in Week 12. The former No. 1 pick has led his team to a 6-5 start with wins in five of the last seven games. Carolina is just half a game out of first place in the NFC South, trailing the 6-4 Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Nov 16, 2025 4:44 PM EST
Carolina Panthers quarterback Bryce Young (ankle) departed and then returned to Sunday's game against the Atlanta Falcons after being stepped on, according to David Newton of ESPN. The former No. 1 overall pick missed a game earlier this year with an ankle injury, but was given the all-clear to return against Atlanta. Young has had mixed results this season, but entered the week ranked outside of the top 25 fantasy quarterbacks and has mostly been a matchup-dependent option in Superflex formats.
Nov 16, 2025 1:59 PM EST
Bryce Young is not worth consideration for fantasy lineups in Week 11. The Carolina QB logged under five Fantasy Points Per Game and did not throw any passing touchdowns in Weeks 9 and 10. This season, Young has averaged 11.6 Fantasy Points Per Game and registered over 20 points only once. Fantasy players should not expect an adequate performance out of Young against the Atlanta Falcons. In Week 3 against Atlanta, Young finished with 121 passing yards, scored one rushing TD, and earned just 11.6 fantasy points. Leading up to Week 11, Atlanta ranks seventh in Fantasy Points Per Game allowed to QBs. The Falcons have a vulnerable run defense, allowing 26.59 Fantasy Points Per Game, which ranks 29th in the league to RBs this season. Expect Carolina to rely on their running game in Week 11 to stay competitive. Fantasy players should leave Young reserved for Week 11. He should only be considered in superflex leagues if your regular QB2 is out and there are no options available otherwise.
Nov 14, 2025 11:49 PM EST
Bryce Young delivered another underwhelming performance in the Panthers' 17-7 loss to the New Orleans Saints. The Carolina QB went 17-for-25 for 124 yards with no TD passes. For the second consecutive game, Young recorded fewer than five fantasy points as he logged only 2.6. He threw an interception and fumbled once. This Panthers' loss also ended a streak of four victories in a row with Young as the starting QB. He did not record any touchdowns in back-to-back games for the first time this season. Through nine games, Young has scored 20-plus fantasy points only once. In Week 11, the Panthers will face the Atlanta Falcons, who ranked seventh in Fantasy Points Per Game allowed to QBs leading up to Week 10. Fantasy players who roster Young in superflex leagues simply aren't getting enough production to even start Young as a QB2. Keep him reserved in Week 11 if possible.
Nov 10, 2025 12:21 PM EST
Bryce Young logged his worst fantasy performance of the 2025 season last week. The third-year quarterback registered only 4.0 fantasy points and did not record any passing touchdowns for the first time since Week 3. In Week 10, Young is in line to bounce back with a potentially decent outing against one of the worst teams in the league, the 1-8 Saints. This season, New Orleans ranks 21st in Fantasy Points Per Game allowed to QBs. Last week, the New Orleans pass defense gave up a season-high 281 passing yards and four TD passes to Rams QB Matthew Stafford. Fantasy players who roster Young in deeper superflex leagues can consider starting him against the Saints as a low-end QB2 if they need a lineup plug-in. If Tetairoa McMillan (hamstring) does not play, though, Young may only post adequate totals at best.
Nov 8, 2025 1:24 AM EST
Bryce Young went 11-for-20 for 102 yards and one interception in the Carolina Panthers' 16-13 upset victory over the Green Bay Packers in Week 9. After missing last week's game due to an ankle injury, Young logged his worst fantasy performance of the 2025 season this week, registering only 4.0 fantasy points. The third-year quarterback also recorded the lowest number of passing yards in a game, failing to pass for a touchdown for the first time this season, and had his lowest completion percentage since Week 1 (55%). Despite Young's struggles, the Panthers won this game through strong performances on defense and the running game. Rico Dowdle scored the Panthers' two touchdowns, while the defense held the Packers to one TD and two field goals. Fantasy players who roster Young in superflex leagues can consider starting him against the Saints in Week 10. New Orleans allowed four TD passes to Matthew Stafford in Week 9.
Nov 3, 2025 12:39 PM EST
Bryce Young is back after missing Week 8 due to an ankle injury, but he goes against the Green Bay Packers in his return. Green Bay is on a three-game winning streak and has not allowed more than 23 points in two of those wins. Over the past two weeks, the Packers defense registered nine sacks. This season, Young has averaged 13.9 fantasy points per game but registered fewer than that in four of his last five outings. In seven games played this season. Young has finished as a top 10 fantasy QB once. If the Panthers play from behind, Young can be a productive passer, as 876 of his 1,288 total pass yards this year were recorded while trailing. Young is best suited as a low-end QB2 for Superflex formats.
Nov 1, 2025 12:33 AM EST
Carolina Panthers quarterback Bryce Young (ankle) has been cleared to return to face the Green Bay Packers at Lambeau Field in Week 9 on Sunday. Young suffered a high-ankle sprain in the Week 7 win over the New York Jets and was unable to play in last week's blowout loss to the Buffalo Bills. However, the 24-year-old has healed quickly and returned to full practice this week. The former first overall pick will play this weekend, but there's a good chance his mobility will be limited, making him slightly less attractive in fantasy as more of a QB3 option in superflex formats. In addition to his ankle potentially limiting his scrambling ability, the matchup on the road against a stout defense in the Packers is not ideal for fantasy purposes. Green Bay's defense has allowed the 20th-most fantasy points per game this year to opposing QBs.
Oct 31, 2025 12:55 PM EST
Carolina Panthers quarterback Bryce Young (ankle) practiced in full for the second consecutive day on Thursday as he battles an ankle injury that sidelined him in Week 8. Young appears to be trending towards making his return in Week 9 against the Green Bay Packers, but the team has not officially announced his status. Panthers backup quarterback Andy Dalton (thumb) was limited in practice on Thursday due to a thumb injury, so Young may actually be the team's healthiest option. Across seven games in 2025, Young has completed 61.6% of his pass attempts for 1,288 yards, 11 touchdowns, and five interceptions. Even if he's active, Young should likely be avoided by fantasy managers as he heads into a difficult Week 9 matchup against Green Bay.
Oct 30, 2025 4:08 PM EST
Updating a previous report, Carolina Panthers quarterback Bryce Young (ankle) was a full participant at Wednesday's practice, according to David Newton of ESPN. Despite Young's return to a full practice, head coach Dave Canales said that the team will decide on the starting QB in the next few days for Week 9 against the Green Bay Packers. The 24-year-old is being considered day-to-day for now, but a full practice on Wednesday suggests he has a good chance of returning this weekend after missing the Week 8 loss to the Buffalo Bills due to a high right-ankle sprain that he suffered in Week 7 against the New York Jets. Veteran Andy Dalton was forced to make the start last weekend and came out of the blowout loss with a right-thumb injury. All signs are pointing toward Young making his return this Sunday at Lambeau Field.
Oct 29, 2025 3:23 PM EST
Carolina Panthers quarterback Bryce Young (ankle) returned to practice Wednesday after missing Week 8 due to a high-ankle sprain. Young was seen practicing on a wet field, which bodes well for his availability this week. The Panthers have emerged as a playoff contender behind the 24-year-old signal caller. The team will face the Green Bay Packers on the road this week, in a pivotal NFC matchup. If Young can play, it will set up a matchup of rising signal callers as he takes on Jordan Love. Rookie wide receiver Tetairoa McMillan could also benefit from a full-strength offense.
Oct 29, 2025 2:07 PM EST
Carolina Panthers quarterback Bryce Young (ankle) had a good running session on Monday, according to his head coach, Dave Canales. While he is still considered day-to-day, there is a chance he returns this week after missing one game with an ankle injury. With Andy Dalton running the show in a Week 8 loss to the Bills, the Panthers' offense struggled mightily, failing to gain 250 total yards and turning the ball over three times. While Dalton completed only 16 passes on the day, seven of those went to Tetairoa McMillan for 99 yards, signaling that the rookie receiver should be able to produce a safe fantasy floor on volume alone, regardless of who is under center when the Panthers face the Packers in Week 9.
