Hunt was cut by the Panthers on Friday, Joe Person of The Athletic reports.
Analysis: Hunt spent time in the Alliance of American Football in spring before latching on with the Panthers, but did not succeed in ultimately carving out a spot on the initial 53-man roster. He'll work to earn another chance elsewhere in the league.

Hunt signed a one-year contract with the Panthers on Tuesday.
Analysis: Hunt's a big tight end standing at 6-foot-7, 255 pounds. He spent time this spring in the Alliance of American Football, but he was barely productive with just two catches for 13 yards over eight games. Hunt will need to be a dominant run-blocker in order to secure a roster spot.

Hunt (knee) didn't practice Tuesday, Eric D. Williams of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: The undrafted rookie is seeking a depth tight end role, and his chances were slightly improved when Hunter Henry (knee) was lost for the year. The only way to the 53-man roster would be shining during the preseason, so getting healthy for Saturday's game against the Seahawks is crucial.
