Jalen McMillan Not Targeted In Loss

Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Jalen McMillan was banged up heading into this game, but ended up being active ahead of this Week 10 contest. However, fantasy managers might not have noticed McMillan was active given his performance. The rookie wideout finished with a goose egg as he wasn't targeted in the loss to the San Francisco 49ers. This is not a good sign given the Bucs are already limited at the wideout spot. It shows that the Bucs don't have much faith in their third-round rookie. Fantasy managers in dynasty leagues should hold McMillan, but he looks like a drop-candidate everywhere else.

Jalen McMillan Active Against 49ers Sunday

Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Jalen McMillan (hamstring) is officially active for Sunday's game against the San Francisco 49ers. He had been listed as questionable. McMillan missed two consecutive practices before returning in a limited capacity on Friday, so his availability for Week 10 is notable at the very least. The 22-year-old has appeared in six games this season, catching 10 passes for 109 yards and one touchdown. His best game came in Week 8 when he started with Mike Evans (hamstring) and Chris Godwin (ankle). In that contest, he played 81 percent of the offensive snaps, turning seven targets into a career-high four catches and 35 yards. He'll look to build on that stat line this week with Evans still sidelined and Godwin done for the year.

Jalen McMillan Has Shaky Flex Appeal

Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Jalen McMillan (hamstring) is currently listed as questionable ahead of the Week 10 matchup against the San Francisco 49ers. The rookie wideout sat out during last week's loss to the Kansas City Chiefs. McMillan is still dealing with the same injury and is in danger of missing another game. If active, McMillan would be a shaky flex option given him and quarterback Baker Mayfield haven't been on the same page this season. There's decent upside with McMillan, but he's probably not worth the risk against the 49ers defense. Sterling Shepard and Trey Palmer figure to see more attention if McMillan is unable to play.

Jalen McMillan Uncertain For Monday Night Football

Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Jalen McMillan (hamstring) is questionable for Monday night's encounter with the Kansas City Chiefs. The Bucs are hurting, with Chris Godwin (ankle) and Mike Evans (hamstring) on the shelf. To make matters worse, Bucky Irving (toe) and Sterling Shepard (hamstring) may be sidelined for Week 9. With that in mind, McMillan has a chance to see more attention from Baker Mayfield versus the Chiefs, especially if Irving or Shepard don't play. Yet, if McMillan can't suit up, Trey Palmer, Ryan Miller, and Cade Otton would draw starting fantasy consideration.

Jalen McMillan Targeted Seven Times

Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Jalen McMillan was forced into the No. 1 role with Mike Evans (hamstring) and Chris Godwin (ankle) going down. McMillan didn't appear quite ready for that role as he struggled throughout most of Sunday's game. The rookie wideout hauled in four of his seven targets for 35 yards in the loss to the Atlanta Falcons. It didn't seem that McMillan and quarterback Baker Mayfield were on the same page this week. Hopefully some more practice time will help the duo get back on track. McMillan should be in the flex conversation for the Week 9 matchup against the Kansas City Chiefs.

Jalen McMillan Has Intriguing Value For Week 8

Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Jalen McMillan is likely going to be asked to play a big role in the offense going forward. The Bucs lost both their top wideouts in Mike Evans (hamstring) and Chris Godwin (ankle) during last week's loss to the Baltimore Ravens. That being said, McMillan and Sterling Shepard are expected to be the top options in the passing game going forward. Last week, McMillan hauled in three of his eight targets for 15 yards in the loss. It wasn't a good game for McMillan, but the eight targets shows that the Bucs do have faith in the young wideout. The rookie receiver could end up sliding into the slot role which could be good for his fantasy value. He has a favorable matchup against the Atlanta Falcons defense in Week 8. Fantasy managers should consider McMillan as a low-end WR3 for this weekend.

Jalen McMillan Sees Four Touches In Week 7 Loss

Tampa Bay Buccaneers rookie wide receiver Jalen McMillan had only four touches in Monday night's 41-31 loss at the hands of the Baltimore Ravens, but his production should be on the uptick soon after Tampa's top two wideouts -- Mike Evans (hamstring) and Chris Godwin (ankle) -- both went down with injuries. Godwin is expected to miss the rest of the season. McMillan caught three of eight targets for 15 yards receiving and had one carry for a gain of 11 yards. Although the 22-year-old wasn't efficient with his eight looks, which were third on the team, his inevitable role increase should make him a popular waiver-wire target this week, at least in deeper fantasy leagues. Through his first five NFL games, McMillan has caught six of 15 targets for 74 yards and one score. Veteran Sterling Shepard also figures to see a big role boost with both Evans and Godwin hurt.

Jalen McMillan Active Against Saints

Tampa Bay Buccaneers rookie wide receiver Jalen McMillan (hamstring), who was listed as questionable, is active for the Week 6 divisional game on Sunday against the New Orleans Saints. With Trey Palmer (concussion) missing another game, McMillan should operate as the team's WR3 behind Mike Evans and Chris Godwin. The 22-year-old youngster is returning after missing each of the team's last two games due to a hamstring ailment. In his first three NFL games, McMillan operated as the No. 3 and caught just three of his six targets for 59 yards and one touchdown. The Saints defense has allowed the 19th-most half-PPR fantasy points to wideouts through the first five weeks of the season, so they aren't exactly the greatest matchup for pass-catchers, especially at home in the Caesars Superdome. McMillan is stash-worthy in deeper fantasy leagues, but we wouldn't recommend him for starting lineups this weekend.

Jalen McMillan Officially Ruled Out

Tampa Bay Buccaneers rookie wide receiver Jalen McMillan (hamstring) is officially out for Week 4 against the Philadelphia Eagles after he was listed as doubtful on the final injury report on Friday. McMillan tweaked his hamstring during practice on Friday and will miss the first game of his career after going for three receptions on six targets for 59 yards and one touchdown in his first three games. He has averaged 19.7 yards receiving per game and has effectively become the No. 3 behind Mike Evans and Chris Godwin. But for Sunday's game at Raymond James Stadium, expect Trey Palmer to take over McMillan's duties against Philly. It's unclear if McMillan will be able to return on a short week in Week 5 versus the Atlanta Falcons next Thursday. For now, McMillan is merely a deep-league stash for fantasy managers.

Jalen McMillan Doubtful To Play In Week 4

Tampa Bay Buccaneers rookie wide receiver Jalen McMillan (hamstring) suffered a hamstring injury in practice on Friday and is now doubtful to be able to play in Week 4 on Sunday against the visiting Philadelphia Eagles. McMillan was officially listed as limited in Friday's practice. Mike Evans (knee) and Chris Godwin (neck) were also on this week's injury report, but the two wideouts have since been cleared to play this weekend. With McMillan now unlikely to face Philly, Trey Palmer will step in as the team's WR3 for at least one week in a very nice matchup. The second-year wideout has only seen three targets through the first three weeks, catching one of them for a 19-yard gain, so he'll only be a deep WR4/flex sleeper worth considering in much deeper fantasy leagues this week. McMillan has exactly one catch in each of his first three NFL games, going for 59 yards and one touchdown.

Jalen McMillan Suffers Injury During Friday's Practice

Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Jalen McMillan (hamstring) picked up an injury during Friday's practice session, according to head coach Todd Bowles. His availability for Week 4 is uncertain, but it's never a good sign when a player suffers an injury this late in the week. The Bucs will likely wait and see how McMillan feels over the next few days before they make a final decision. The third-round rookie has been quiet early in the season, but could see an increased role with Mike Evans (knee) and Chris Godwin (neck) both on the injury report. McMillan will be off the fantasy radar, assuming both wideouts are available to play this Sunday.

Jalen McMillan Remains Off The Fantasy Radar

Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Jalen McMillan has been quiet through the first two weeks of the season. The rookie wideout won the No. 3 role in camp, but that doesn't come along with much attention. Through two games, McMillan has hauled in two of his five targets for 53 yards and a touchdown. Often times, McMillan is the third or fourth passing option, which isn't resulting in a ton of action. The assumption is that McMillan will get more value later on once he builds more chemistry with quarterback Baker Mayfield. For now, McMillan is a dynasty stash and remains avoidable for Week 3.

Jalen McMillan Avoidable For Week 2

Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Jalen McMillan was able to find the end zone during his NFL debut last week. The rookie wideout won the No. 3 role with an impressive performance during camp. He was able to make some noise by hauling in one of his three targets for a 32-yard touchdown in the win over the Washington Commanders. As expected, McMillan isn't going to have a huge role with Mike Evans and Chris Godwin seeing a bulk of the targets. That is likely going to continue which means McMillan might only see a few chances each week. It probably won't be enough to warrant rostering McMillan is most fantasy formats. He's worth stashing in dynasty formats but probably won't see much action in Week 2.

Jalen McMillan Catches Touchdown In Win

Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Jalen McMillan made his NFL debut against the Washington Commanders on Sunday. The rookie wideout won the No. 3 spot behind Mike Evans and Chris Godwin to start the season. He was the clear third receiver on this offense during Sunday's game. McMillan hauled in one of his three targets for 32 yards and a touchdown in the win. It appears Evans, Godwin, and even running back Rachaad White are above McMillan on the pecking order for passing. McMillan is worth stashing in deep leagues, but he isn't a viable option on a weekly basis right now.

Jalen McMillan Has Risky Streaming Appeal

Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Jalen McMillan has worked his way up the depth chart quickly in camp. The third-round pick is slated to start alongside Mike Evans and Chris Godwin during the Week 1 season opener against the Washington Commanders. There is a ton of potential here as McMillan should be stashed in all dynasty leagues. However, the 22-year-old isn't a great streaming option heading into Week 1. It's uncertain how many targets will be left over with Evans, Godwin, and probably Rachaad White ahead of McMillan in terms of passing options. There is potential for McMillan to grow and become a reliable contributor in this offense. However, fantasy managers should be able to find a better streaming option ahead of Week 1. McMillan should be considered a WR4 for the season opener.

Jalen McMillan Expected To Be Buccaneers' WR3

Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Jalen McMillan appears set to rank third on the depth chart behind Mike Evans and Chris Godwin. "It's a foregone conclusion among reporters he's won [the] WR3 job," tweeted Adam Levitan of Establish The Run. Jenna Laine of ESPN echoed this sentiment in a recent article, writing, "McMillan will line up opposite Evans with Godwin in the slot." The Buccaneers have been able to support three fantasy-relevant receivers before, albeit in the Tom Brady era, so there's a chance McMillan could have some appeal in deeper redraft leagues. Plus, even if he doesn't deliver steady production in the No. 3 role, he'd become an immediate FLEX option in most lineups if Evans or Godwin suffered an injury.

Jalen McMillan Catches Lone Target

Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Jalen McMillan has made a strong case for the No. 3 role on this offense. The rookie wideout has been battling with Trey Palmer for the third wideout spot behind Mike Evans and Chris Godwin. McMillan was on the field for all the first-team snaps during Friday's preseason finale against the Miami Dolphins. The rookie wideout hauled in his lone target for 28 yards in the win. McMillan has been quiet during the preseason games but he remains the favorite for the No. 3 role heading into the regular season. On paper that sounds great, but McMillan probably won't see a ton of action with Evans and Godwin healthy. There could be some deep league value, but McMillan is unlikely to make a significant impact right away.

Jalen McMillan Leads In Race For Tampa Bay's WR3 Role

Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Jalen McMillan has been making a compelling case for the WR3 position, showing significant promise during training camp. Selected 92nd overall in the third round of the 2024 NFL Draft, McMillan, a former standout for the Washington Huskies, has garnered praise from quarterback Baker Mayfield, who noted, "What people don't realize, he was their (Washington's) leading guy in '22 before he got hurt. And so, for him to get back to true form -- he's a stud." Despite leading the Huskies in targets and catches in 2022, a knee injury in his final season limited him to 45 catches for 559 yards and five touchdowns, likely contributing to his fall to the third round. He led the Washington Huskies in targets and catches in 2022 despite playing with future 1st and 2nd round picks. With Mike Evans and Chris Godwin ahead of him on the depth chart, McMillan may struggle to secure a substantial target share but could still deliver valuable fantasy weeks as a perimeter receiver. If he secures the WR3 role, he becomes a more intriguing option, particularly in best-ball leagues.

Buccaneers Continue To Praise Jalen McMillan

Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Jalen McMillan continues to draw positive reviews out of training camp, this time coming directly from quarterback Baker Mayfield and head coach Todd Bowles. The third-round pick out of Washington saw his draft stock take a hit following a 559-yard season in 2023, but he has exceeded expectations early in his career. "He's a guy that runs so smooth," Mayfield said. "He does some things at the top of his routes -- he's so friendly to the ball -- that veterans do." Bowles, who doesn't go out of his way to sugarcoat statements, echoed these statements. "He's a good football player. Since he's come in, he's making plays since Day 1," said Bowles. "He wants to be good, he wants to learn, and the receiving group loves him." These quotes are a great sign for McMillan's potential role as a rookie, but he could still have trouble becoming a fantasy-relevant option in 2024 while competing with Mike Evans and Chris Godwin for targets. Still, he's an intriguing best-ball option and late-round flier in deeper fantasy football setups.
