Jalen McMillan Ascending Bucs' Pecking Order?

Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Jalen McMillan exploded for seven catches and 114 yards in the team's 20-17 loss to the Miami Dolphins in Week 17. The 24-year-old's target (nine) and yardage totals were team-highs, setting personal bests across the board. Coincidentally, McMillan did not see a significant rise in snap share, hovering around the same figure he's recorded since returning from an injury. Regardless, he and Chris Godwin Jr. were the only other pass-catchers to eclipse 40 receiving yards (108). With a myriad of mouths to feed in Tampa Bay's attack, it's unlikely McMillan would have another performance such as this when they square off with the Panthers in Week 18. That said, he sports solid athleticism and offers fantasy managers big-play ability for one of the few meaningful games in the campaign's final week.

Jalen McMillan is a Risky Streaming Choice

Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Jalen McMillan hasn't made much of an impact since making his season debut in Week 15. McMillan has hauled in four of his five targets for 53 yards and has yet to find the end zone. The 24-year-old has good long-term upside, but he doesn't appear to be a viable fantasy option right now. He figures to fight for playing time as the No. 3 wideout with rookie Emeka Egbuka. McMillan has a decent matchup against the Miami Dolphins in Week 17, but he can't be trusted as a third or fourth passing option. The second-year wideout is worth stashing in dynasty formats, but he should be on the waiver wire in 12-team fantasy formats.

Jalen McMillan Best Left for Deep Leagues

Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Jalen McMillan made his season debut in Week 15 against the Atlanta Falcons, catching both of his two targets for 38 yards. McMillan spent the entire season up until that point on Injured Reserve after suffering multiple fractures and ligament damage in his neck during a preseason game, but he made a full recovery and will be a factor in the Bucs' passing game over the final few games. The second-year wideout's upside in fantasy football is limited with all of Tampa Bay's wide receivers healthy at the same time for the first time this season. McMillan's 47.5% route share last week ranked fourth on the team behind Chris Godwin Jr., Mike Evans, and rookie Emeka Egbuka. While McMillan ended his rookie season on a high note with seven touchdowns over the final five games, his opportunities will likely be too inconsistent to rely on in standard-sized leagues to end this season.

Jalen McMillan Making his Season Debut in Week 15

Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Jalen McMillan (neck) will make his 2025 season debut in Week 15 on Thursday Night Football versus the division-rival Atlanta Falcons. McMillan was activated from Injured Reserve on Wednesday, but was listed as questionable to play this week. The 24-year-old second-year wideout suffered multiple fractures and ligament damage in his neck in a preseason game in August, but he's finally ready to contribute down the stretch for Tampa. With veteran Mike Evans (collarbone) also back for the first time since breaking his collarbone in Week 7, the Bucs' receiving corps is finally back to full strength for the first time this year. McMillan had a pretty big role in the offense to close out his rookie campaign with Chris Godwin Jr. on the shelf, and he finished with a 37-461-8 line in 13 games. However, in a crowded WR room this year and with limited snaps likely coming in his first game back, McMillan won't be a recommended fantasy play against Atlanta.

Jalen McMillan Should be Avoided if he's Active on Thursday

Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Jalen McMillan (neck) is currently questionable to make his season debut versus the Atlanta Falcons in Week 15 on Thursday night. McMillan has been sidelined all season due to a neck injury he suffered in mid-August in the preseason. Both McMillan and Mike Evans (collarbone) were activated from Injured Reserve on Wednesday. It seems that both wideouts are trending in the right direction ahead of Thursday's matchup with Atlanta. There might be too many mouths to feed for McMillan to be a viable fantasy contributor, though. Rookie Emeka Egbuka, Chris Godwin Jr., and Evans will all likely be ahead of McMillan in the pecking order. There's some stash value here in deeper formats, but McMillan won't be a recommended starting option in 12-team leagues in Week 15 if he makes his 2025 debut on TNF.

Jalen McMillan Questionable to Make his Season Debut in Week 15

Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Jalen McMillan (neck) was limited in practice all week and is officially listed as questionable to play in Week 15 against the division-rival Atlanta Falcons on Thursday Night Football, according to the Tampa Bay Times' Rick Stroud. The Bucs' offense is getting healthy at the right time, with both McMillan and Mike Evans (collarbone) activated from Injured Reserve on Wednesday. However, they are both up in the air to be active on Thursday. The 24-year-old McMillan fractured bones in his neck and sustained ligament damage during the preseason, so he'll most likely be eased back into the offense if he's active this week. McMillan finished his rookie season strong in 2024, but he's returning to a very crowded WR room that includes Evans, Chris Godwin Jr., and rookies Emeka Egbuka and Tez Johnson. For now, McMillan is merely a stash option in deeper fantasy leagues.

Jalen McMillan Participates in Practice on Wednesday

Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Jalen McMillan (neck) practiced for the third straight day on Wednesday, according to Pewter Report. McMillan has been on Injured Reserve for the entirety of 2025 after suffering a neck injury in the preseason, but it appears he could be trending towards making his return in Week 15 against the Atlanta Falcons on Thursday night. Upon his return, McMillan will be part of a crowded Tampa Bay wide receiver room that includes Emeka Egbuka, Chris Godwin, and Tez Johnson, and could be getting Mike Evans (collarbone) back in Week 15 as well. McMillan was productive as a rookie in 2024, hauling in 37 catches for 461 yards and eight touchdowns on 58 targets across 13 games. However, the target competition and long injury layoff could lead to a slow reintegration period for the 24-year-old once activated off Injured Reserve. McMillan is a player to monitor for deep-league managers, but should likely be avoided if activated for Week 15.

Will Jalen McMillan Factor into Bucs Passing Game Upon Return?

Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Jalen McMillan (neck) has been on Injured Reserve for the entire year after suffering a serious neck injury during a preseason game in mid-August, but he seems to be getting close to a return. The second-year wideout was a limited participant every day in practice last week and has logged two limited practices on Monday and Tuesday of this week ahead of Thursday Night Football against the Atlanta Falcons. His status in Wednesday's practice will likely determine if he can play on Thursday. The 24-year-old ended his rookie season on a heater, hauling in 24 of his 31 targets for 316 yards and seven touchdowns over the final five games. McMillan will be vying for targets in a crowded Tampa Bay WR room that could also be getting No. 1 receiver Mike Evans (collarbone) back in Week 15. McMillan will be an extremely volatile deep-league option if he is active on Thursday night.

Jalen McMillan Limited Again on Tuesday

Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Jalen McMillan (neck) was able to log a limited practice session on Tuesday. McMillan has now logged back-to-back limited practice sessions to begin the week. The 24-year-old appears to be almost ready to make his season debut. McMillan has been sidelined all year due to a serious neck injury that he suffered in mid-August in a preseason game. Fantasy managers will need to check back for the final injury report on Wednesday. The Buccaneers could also be getting wideout Mike Evans (collarbone) back from IR for a Thursday night matchup against the division-rival Atlanta Falcons. If McMillan is active in Week 15, he won't be a recommended fantasy football option in his season debut, and he could struggle for consistent snaps to close out the regular season in a crowded WR corps that also includes Chris Godwin Jr. and rookies Emeka Egbuka and Tez Johnson.

Jalen McMillan Spotted at Buccaneers Practice on Tuesday

Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Jalen McMillan (neck) was spotted at practice on Tuesday, according to Greg Auman of Fox Sports. McMillan was listed as a limited practice participant on Monday's injury report ahead of Tampa Bay's Week 15 matchup against the Atlanta Falcons on Thursday night. The 24-year-old has yet to play in 2025 after suffering a neck injury in the preseason that led to him being placed on Injured Reserve. Across 13 games as a rookie in 2024, McMillan recorded 37 catches for 461 yards and eight touchdowns on 58 targets. Upon his return, McMillan will join a crowded wide receiver room in Tampa Bay that includes Emeka Egbuka and Chris Godwin, and could also be getting back veteran Mike Evans (collarbone) in Week 15. Given his long injury layoff and Tampa Bay's wealth of pass-catching options, McMillan may see limited playing time in 2025.

Jalen McMillan Limited on Monday's Injury Report

Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Jalen McMillan (neck) was listed as limited on Monday's estimated injury report, according to Greg Auman of FOX Sports. McMillan is trying to make his way back from multiple fractures in his neck and ligament damage that he suffered in a preseason game in August. The 24-year-old second-year pass-catcher has a chance to play for the first time this year in Week 15 against the division-rival Atlanta Falcons. Veteran Mike Evans (collarbone) could play on Thursday, too. McMillan, a third-rounder in 2024 out of Washington, had a solid 37-461-8 line in 13 games in his rookie campaign. He was in line for a significant role alongside Evans and Chris Godwin Jr. before his preseason injury. McMillan is still a big part of Tampa's future, but he may struggle for consistent playing time in a now-crowded Tampa receiving room that also features productive rookies Emeka Egbuka and Tez Johnson.

Jalen McMillan Trending Toward Return

Tampa Bay Buccaneers second-year wide receiver Jalen McMillan (neck) was one of a handful of players, along with Mike Evans and Tristan Wirfs, that head coach Todd Bowles told reporters are in play for Thursday night's divisional game against the Falcons. Still on IR, McMillan returned to practice last week and was able to log a slate of limited participations after suffering multiple fractures in his neck as well as additional ligament damage in a gruesome-looking preseason injury. As a rookie in 2024, McMillan came on strong down the stretch and was a key piece to many fantasy championships. Expecting him to do the same this year is unreasonable, as he will likely slot in as the team's WR4/5 upon his return, but with the Buccaneers fighting for a playoff spot, he could be a cheap DFS play who has already demonstrated huge touchdown upside, coming down with seven touchdown grabs in his final five games last year.

Jalen McMillan Not Coming Off Injured Reserve in Week 14

Tampa Bay Buccaneers head coach Todd Bowles told reporters on Friday that wide receiver Jalen McMillan (neck), who returned to practice this week, will not come off Injured Reserve to make his 2025 debut in Week 14 versus the division-rival New Orleans Saints on Sunday, per ESPN's Adam Schefter. McMillan resumed practicing this week for the first time since suffering three fractures in his neck as well as ligament damage during a preseason game in August. The Bucs are bringing McMillan along slowly, so he might not be ready for game action for another couple of weeks. Fellow wideout Mike Evans (collarbone) is much closer, with his return potentially coming next Thursday night against the division-rival Atlanta Falcons. When/if McMillan returns this year, he will most likely struggle to find consistent targets in the team's crowded WR picture.

Jalen McMillan Limited Again on Thursday

Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Jalen McMillan (neck) was limited for the second straight day on Thursday due to a neck injury, according to Sara Palczewski of Louisiana First News. McMillan returned to practice on Wednesday for the first time since suffering three neck fractures and significant ligament damage during a preseason game in August. The 23-year-old has been on Injured Reserve all year and is not expected to return for this Sunday's game against the division-rival New Orleans Saints in Week 14. McMillan is no longer wearing a neck brace, though, and he continues to make improvements towards a return before the regular season is over. Fantasy managers can continue to avoid him, though, as it might be another couple of weeks before the Bucs officially activate him. McMillan is likely to have a small role for Tampa when he returns, too, in a suddenly crowded WR room.

Jalen McMillan Logs Another Practice

Per Pewter Report, Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Jalen McMillan (neck) was spotted at practice for a second straight day, although in what capacity he participated had not been divulged. McMillan and veteran Mike Evans (clavicle) each came back from their respective injuries to log a limited practice on Wednesday. While there's likely still a few boxes to be checked regarding their return to in-game action, it's excellent news for the Buccaneers, as their offense is working back to full health. In a loaded WR corps, it's difficult to predict what kind of role McMillan will assume upon his activation. That said, he was productive down the stretch of his rookie season, notching four straight five-catch games, with greater than 50 receiving yards in each. He's on the radar in deep leagues for the time being.

Jalen McMillan Returns to Limited Practice

Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Jalen McMillan (neck) was limited in practice on Wednesday, according to FOX Sports' Greg Auman. This was McMillan's first practice since suffering a severe neck strain and multiple broken bones in his neck back in the preseason in August. The 23-year-old is trending toward a return this year, but it probably won't be for another couple of weeks. And when McMillan does return, he'll be joining a crowded receiving room in Tampa alongside wideouts Mike Evans (collarbone), Chris Godwin, rookie first-rounder Emeka Egbuka, and rookie Tez Johnson. It's highly unlikely that McMillan is going to have a big enough role when he returns to put him on the fantasy map in 12-team leagues.

Jalen McMillan Expected to Have his 21-day Practice Window Opened

NFL Insider Ian Rapoport reported that Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Jalen McMillan (neck) is expected to have his 21-day practice window opened on Wednesday, a source said, some excellent news for Tampa Bay. The Bucs also opened fellow wide receiver Mike Evans' (collarbone) practice window Wednesday just in time for the end-of-season run for the (7-5) Buccaneers. McMillan had himself a nice rookie season in 2024, with 461 receiving yards on 58 targets and eight touchdowns. He stepped in for the injured Chris Godwin at the time after he suffered an ankle injury during the middle of the season and missed the rest of the 2024 campaign. As great as this news is for the Bucs and McMillan, it's not the most fantastic news for fantasy managers of Emeka Egbuka, Chris Godwin, Tez Johnson, and Cade Otton, as once Evans and McMillan get thrown into the mix, there's going to be a lot of pass-catchers in this offense and challenging for any one receiver to have any level of consistency if quarterback Baker Mayfield spreads the ball around, which he likely would. McMillan would likely be on the lower end of that pecking order, not making him fantasy relevant for the rest of the 2025 season, but still a good option in dynasty formats.

Jalen McMillan Could Start Doing More This Week

Tampa Bay Buccaneers head coach Todd Bowles said on Monday that wide receiver Jalen McMillan (neck) could start doing more in practice this week, according to Scott Smith of Buccaneers.com. McMillan is still on Injured Reserve and has not played at all in 2025 after suffering multiple neck fractures and ligament damage during a preseason game back in mid-August. Fellow wideout Mike Evans (collarbone) could also do more in practice this week and potentially return for a Week 14 divisional clash against the New Orleans Saints. McMillan isn't as far along as Evans, so the 23-year-old probably won't be ready to return from IR this weekend. McMillan was expected to have a role in Tampa's passing attack this year before his serious injury in the summer, but expectations should be tempered for him if he's able to return, especially after the strong contributions from rookies Emeka Egbuka and Tez Johnson in his absence.

Jalen McMillan Cleared to Practice

Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Jalen McMillan (neck) was cleared by a spine specialist this week. That means, McMillan should be able to begin practicing as early as this upcoming week. The 23-year-old has been sidelined all season due to multiple broken bones in his neck. The hope is that McMillan will be able to contribute to this Bucs roster at some point. Once his practice window is opened, the Bucs will have 21 days to activate McMillan before he goes back to the injured reserve. It's unclear at the moment how much time he's going to need to get ready to play again. For now, McMillan isn't anything more than a possible deep league stash or dynasty hold.

Jalen McMillan "Seems Close" to Having Practice Window Opened

Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Jalen McMillan (neck) has been on Injured Reserve for the entirety of the 2025 regular season after suffering a neck injury in preseason action. While McMillan has yet to have his IR activation window opened by the team, Greg Auman of Fox Sports reports that McMillan "seems close" heading into Tampa Bay's Week 13 matchup against the Arizona Cardinals. Across 13 games as a rookie in 2024, McMillan recorded 37 catches for 461 yards and eight touchdowns on 58 targets. While 2025 appears likely to be a mostly lost year for the 23-year-old, Auman's reporting indicates that McMillan has a chance to get back on the field before the end of the regular season. If he can return, McMillan would join a crowded Tampa Bay wide receiver room that includes Emeka Egbuka, Chris Godwin, and Tez Johnson, and could be getting Mike Evans (collarbone) as well. It's unclear how heavily the team would lean on McMillan, particularly given the long injury layoff.
