Remains effective in win

Slye made all three of his field-goal attempts while converting his lone extra-point try in Sunday's 22-7 win over the Giants.

Analysis: Slye was consistent late in the regular season, as he made all four of his kicks in each of the final two games of the year. The 25-year-old spent the second half of the season with Washington and missed three games with a hamstring injury, but he made all 12 of his field-goal attempts while converting nine of 10 extra-point tries during his six appearances with the club. In total, he took the field in 12 games with Houston, San Francisco and Washington and converted 23 of 25 field-goal attempts while making 18 of 22 extra-point tries.

Puts up 10 points in loss

Slye made all three of his field-goal attempts as well as his lone extra-point try in Sunday's 20-16 loss to the Eagles.

Getting nod at kicker Sunday

Slye will serve as Washington's kicker Sunday versus the Eagles.

Analysis: Washington currently has two kickers on the active roster, and for a second consecutive game Slye is getting the nod over Brian Johnson, who is inactive. In his first game action last Sunday since Week 12, Slye didn't see much work in a 56-14 loss at Dallas, making both extra points and not getting a chance at a field-goal attempt. He'll aim for a more fruitful performance in Week 17.

Quiet in first game back

Slye didn't attempt a field goal and made both of his extra-point tries during Sunday's 56-14 loss to the Cowboys.

Analysis: Slye was activated off IR by Washington on Saturday after recovering from a hamstring injury and played in his first game since Week 12. The 25-year-old kicker didn't get much work as Washington fell behind 21-0 early in the first quarter and had to play catch up the rest of the way. Barring another blowout, Slye is expected to get a few more opportunities against the Eagles in Week 17.

Kicking Sunday night

Slye is active for Sunday night's game against the Cowboys.

Activated off IR

Slye (hamstring) has been activated off IR by Washington.

Analysis: Slye, who lasted suited up in Week 12, is thus an option to be made active for Sunday night's game against the Cowboys. At this time, however, Washington is carrying two kickers -- Slye and Brian Johnson -- ahead of Week 16 action, per Nicki Jhabvala of The Washington Post.

Practice window opens

Washington designated Slye (hamstring) for return from injured reserve Thursday, Aaron Wilson of Sportstalk 790 Houston reports.

Analysis: Slye was forced to IR after pulling his hamstring following a blocked field-goal attempt Week 12 against the Seahawks. After sitting out the mandatory three games, he now has a 21-day window in which to prove his health at practice, with the potential Washington activates him before Sunday's game at Dallas. In nine games for three teams this season, Slye has made 17 of 19 FGAs and 14 of 18 point-after tries.

Hits injured reserve

Washington placed Slye (hamstring) on injured reserve Tuesday, Ben Standig of The Athletic reports.

Analysis: Slye thus will miss at least three games as a result of the pulled hamstring he sustained during Monday's win against the Seahawks. With a multi-week absence in store for Slye, Washington signed Brian Johnson off the Bears' practice squad in a corresponding move.

Will miss time

Coach Ron Rivera said Tuesday that Slye (hamstring) will miss "a few weeks," JP Finlay of NBC Sports Washington reports.

Analysis: Slye suffered a hamstring injury during Monday's 17-15 win over Seattle, and he was subsequently limited to extra-point tries but unable to attempt field goals. Depending on the severity of his injury, Slye could be a candidate for a stint on IR, but no matter the case Washington will now need to pursue other options at placekicker. The Football Team does not currently have a kicker on the practice squad.

Questionable to return

Slye (hamstring) is available to for extra-point attempts but will not attempt any field goals for the rest of Monday's game against Seattle,Ben Standig of The Athletic reports.

Analysis: Slye suffered a hamstring injury while trying to chase down a blocked extra-point attempt in the first half. He's been officially deemed questionable to return, though Washington opted to go for two rather than attempt an extra point on their first score in the second half. In addition, Tress Way -- Washington's punter -- was seen warming up for kicks on the sideline, Bob Condotta of The Seattle Times reports.

Hurts hamstring Monday

Slye suffered a hamstring injury during Monday's game versus the Seahawks.

Analysis: When his PAT was blocked and returned for a touchdown near the end of the first half, Slye made chase but tumbled to the ground on the play. He was favoring his left leg thereafter and now may not return to action Monday. In Slye's place, Tress Way will handle placekicking duties for Washington.

Perfect once again

Slye converted both of his field-goal attempts while making all three of his extra-point tries in Sunday's 27-21 win over the Panthers.

Analysis: Slye has had plenty of work during his first two games with Washington, and he hasn't yet missed any kicks during that time. Since joining his new team, the 25-year-old has made all five of his field-goal attempts while converting all five of his extra-point tries.

Nov 22, 2021 9:19 AM EST

Perfect in team debut

Slye converted all three of his field-goal attempts while drilling both of his extra-point tries in Sunday's 29-19 win over the Buccaneers.

Analysis: Slye signed with Washington on Tuesday to replace Chris Blewitt, and he was perfect in his debut for Washington to help propel the team to the upset win. The 25-year-old has appeared in seven games with the Texans, 49ers and Washington to begin the year and has made 14 of 16 field-goal attempts while converting 11 of 14 extra-point tries.

Nov 15, 2021 9:31 AM EST

New kicker in D.C.

Washington signed Slye to a contract Tuesday.

Analysis: Since being waived by Carolina in the preseason, Slye has now spent time in three organizations, as he had stints in Houston and San Francisco before signing on in Washington. While kicking in six games between the two squads, Slye connected on 11 of 13 field-goal attempts -- including a 3-for-3 mark from 50-plus yards -- and nine of 12 extra-point tries. Washington is hopeful that Slye can provide an upgrade at the kicker position over Chris Blewitt, who was released Tuesday after missing three kicks in two games.

Nov 9, 2021 6:42 AM EST

Waived by 49ers

Slye was waived by the 49ers on Tuesday, Eric Branch of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

Analysis: The kicker was let go Tuesday after starting the last three games for San Francisco. The move was made as a result of Robbie Gould (groin) expected to be activated this week. Slye went 7-for-8 on field goals for the team and 2-for-4 on PATs, but will now be claimed by another team, added to San Francisco's practice squad or flat out released.

Nov 2, 2021 3:09 PM EST

13 points in win

Slye connected on 4-of-5 field-goal attempts while going 1-for-2 on extra-point tries in Sunday's 33-22 win over the Bears.

Analysis: Slye missed his first field-goal attempt out of the gates from 48 yards out, but went on to hit his next four tries, including a game high 52-yard make. The 25-year-old has performed well in place of the injured Robbie Gould (groin), going 7-for-8 on field-goal attempts in his three games with San Francisco. The latter was reportedly working out on the field prior to Sunday's win, which could spell the end of Slye's tenure with the 49ers if the club activates the reliable kicker off of IR this week.

Nov 1, 2021 2:59 AM EST

Six points on SNF

Slye went 2-for-2 on field-goal attempts, but missed his lone extra-point try in Sunday's 30-18 loss to the Colts.

Analysis: Slye had to deal with rough weather in Santa Clara on Sunday, as winds were swirling and the rain was continuous throughout the entire contest. While the 25-year-old missed an extra point, he did manage to hit an impressive 56-yard field goal in the poor conditions. Robbie Gould (groin) will be forced to miss at least one more contest, so Slye is lined up to get another start against the Bears next Sunday.

Oct 25, 2021 2:01 PM EST

Solid debut in SF

Slye connected from 47 yards out and converted his lone extra-point attempt in Sunday's 17-10 loss to Arizona.

Analysis: Slye took over for Robbie Gould (groin), who was placed on IR last week. The 25-year-old went 4-for-5 on field-goal attempts with Houston prior to being scooped up by San Francisco. Slye should continue to start for at least two more games while Gould is on the mend, starting with a matchup against the Colts in Week 7 following the team's bye.
