Hokit signed a reserve/future contract Monday with the 49ers,
Analysis: Hokit has yet to make his NFL debut, but he'll remain with the 49ers heading into the new year.
Hokit was activated from the reserve/COVID-19 list Monday.
Analysis: Hokit is now restored to his spot on San Francisco's practice squad as a result of this development. The 23-year-old fullback out of Fresno State has not yet made a regular-season appearance, but he has an opportunity to continue developing his skill set behind one of the league's best in Kyle Juszczyk.
Hokit was placed on the reserve/COVID-19 list Wednesday, Jennifer Lee Chan of NBC Sports reports.
Analysis: Hokit joins fellow practice squad member Chase Harrell, as well as roster wide receiver Trent Taylor on the list. If any of the three tested positive for the virus themselves, that player will be required to stay on the list for 10 days after a negative test.
Hokit was cut by the 49ers on Saturday.
Analysis: Teams rarely if ever carry more than one fullback, and San Francisco already boasts arguably the best starter in the game at that position in Kyle Juszczyk, so it's no surprise that Hokit was unable to secure a spot on the team's 53-man roster.
