Reverts to IR

Woodrum (pectoral) reverted to injured reserve after clearing waivers Monday, according to the NFL's official transactions log.

Analysis: Woodrum suffered a torn pectoral muscle during Thursday's preseason opener against Cleveland, and after clearing waivers, he'll likely remain on Washington's injured reserve for the rest of the season unless the two sides reach an injury settlement.

Tears pectoral muscle

Woodrum was diagnosed with a torn pectoral muscle, Kareem Copeland of The Washington Post reports.

Analysis: Woodrum had to leave Thursday's preseason game against the Browns with what initially was deemed a shoulder injury, but an MRI showed otherwise. Coach Jay Gruden said the team would add another quarterback to the roster shortly.

Signing with Washington

Woodrum signed a contract with the Redskins on Thursday.

Analysis: Woodrum initially slots in as the clear No. 3 quarterback behind Case Keenum and Colt McCoy (leg) and the Redskins figure to only bring in more competition via the draft or undrafted free agent market as the offseason continues to unfold.
