The New Orleans Saints have signed free-agent quarterback Kellen Mond, according to Ari Meirov of the 33rd Team. The former Texas A&M Aggie was a third-round pick by the Minnesota Vikings in the 2021 NFL Draft after a strong college career, but he has now found his footing in the NFL. He has spent time with the Vikings, Browns, and Colts, but his last game action was in 2021. He completed just two passes for five yards. New Orleans has quarterbacks Jake Haener and Nathan Peterman on the roster, so it would be a surprise if Mond makes the team for the regular season.

The Indianapolis Colts signed third-year quarterback Kellen Mond to its practice squad on Wednesday. Anthony Richardson (shoulder) was placed on Injured Reserve, meaning Gardner Minshew is now the starter for at least the next four weeks. Sam Ehlinger figures to be his backup, so the team had room for another signal-caller. Since being selected in the third round of the 2021 NFL Draft, Mond has thrown just three passes in the regular season. The Minnesota Vikings released him after his rookie season and the Cleveland Browns released him this offseason. That said, he's not likely to see playing time in the near future.

The Indianapolis Colts signed free-agent quarterback Kellen Mond to their practice squad on Tuesday. Mond was cut by the Cleveland Browns during training camp and will now add some depth for the Colts after they lost quarterback Anthony Richardson to a shoulder injury in Week 5. Once he's up to speed in the Indy offense, Mond could be in line to operate as the Colts' No. 2 quarterback behind Gardner Minshew while Richardson is sidelined.

The Browns will go with starter Deshaun Watson and rookie Dorian Thompson-Robinson as his backup to begin the 2023 regular season. The Browns pulled Mond off waivers earlier this week when they traded Joshua Dobbs to the Arizona Cardinals, but he'll go back on waivers again. If the 24-year-old clears waivers, he'll most likely return to the Browns' practice squad. However, the team decided to pull back on the waivers after trading quarterback Joshua Dobbs to the Arizona Cardinals. The departure of Dobbs left only Deshaun Watson and rookie Dorian Thompson-Robinson as the options at quarterback. That being said, the Browns decided they want to see more of Mond. It's uncertain if the Browns plan to carry three quarterbacks, so Mond will likely end up on the practice squad. He's a former third-round pick of the Minnesota Vikings from the 2021 draft. Mond only played in one game and appears destined to be the third string in Cleveland.

Mond had a solid performance in the Hall of Fame game back in early August to kick off preseason action, but apparently it wasn't enough to earn him a roster spot in Cleveland as QB depth behind Deshaun Watson and Joshua Dobbs. Rookie QB Dorian Thompson-Robinson has also impressed this summer at training camp. The 24-year-old former third-round pick of the Minnesota Vikings in 2021 has played in just one NFL game since entering the league, going 2-for-3 for five yards in his rookie campaign. Mond will now look to latch on with another team as QB depth before the start of the 2023 regular season.

Mond completed 13 of 19 passes for 92 yards with one touchdown and one interception and rushed once for two yards during the Browns' 21-16 win over the Jets in Thursday night's Hall of Fame Game.
