Kyle Philips Catches Three Passes Saturday

Tennessee Titans wide receiver Kyle Philips hauled in all three of his targets for a total of 18 yards during Saturday's preseason game against the San Francisco 49ers. Philips had generated plenty of buzz prior to his rookie campaign in 2022, but injuries have held him to just 13 games, 23 catches, and 259 receiving yards since then. Even after his solid showing in Week 1 of the preseason, he is buried behind players like Calvin Ridley, Tyler Boyd, DeAndre Hopkins, and Treylon Burks on the Titans' depth chart. As a result, Philips remains off the fantasy radar in all formats.

Kyle Philips Battling For Roster Spot

Tennessee Titans wide receiver Kyle Philips kicked off his NFL career in 2022 by leading the team in targets (9) in his debut. However, he has since been either injured or unproductive. Overall, he's hauled in just 23 of his 35 targets for 259 yards in 13 career games. After the additions of wide receivers Calvin Ridley, Tyler Body, and sixth-round rookie Jha'Quan Jackson this offseason, Philips finds himself on the roster bubble, according to John Glennon of the Nashville Post. "Philips will head into training camp battling for a roster spot," Glennon wrote. "The 2022 fifth-round pick has to show the quick-separation ability that initially drew the Titans to him, and he'll have to earn his way into opportunities to return punts once again. Rookie Jha'Quan Jackson, a faster slot receiver with return abilities, will provide stiff competition." Whether Philips makes the roster or not, it would be surprising if he makes a fantasy football impact in 2024.

Kyle Philips A Healthy Scratch In Week 17

Tennessee Titans wide receiver Kyle Philips and tight end Trevon Wesco are both healthy scratches for the Week 17 game on Sunday against the Houston Texans. Philips missed the last two games due to a hamstring injury. He's healed up, but the Titans will keep him out regardless. The 24-year-old was also out in Week 13 and returned in Week 14 to play just three offensive snaps in the win over the Miami Dolphins on Monday Night Football. The second-year receiver has mostly been an afterthought in Tennessee's offense this year, catching only 13 of his 19 targets for 166 yards and no touchdowns in eight games played. The Titans will move forward on Sunday with DeAndre Hopkins, Treylon Burks and Chris Moore as their top three wideouts.

Kyle Philips Won't Play In Week 16

Tennessee Titans wide receiver Kyle Philips (hamstring) has been ruled out for Week 16 versus the Seattle Seahawks. He had been trending in the right direction ever since missing Wednesday's practice, but evidently it wasn't enough. He'll miss Sunday's game, and so will Nick Westbrook-Ikhine (hand), who was placed on injured reserve this week. Look for De'Andre Hopkins to remain the Titans' top receiver, ranking as a low-end fantasy WR2. Treylon Burks will also see increased opportunities but isn't on the redraft radar currently.

Kyle Philips Ruled Out For Week 15

Tennessee Titans wide receiver Kyle Philips (hamstring) has officially been ruled out for the Week 15 contest on Sunday against the Houston Texans. The 24-year-old second-year wideout has been off the fantasy radar pretty much all year, as he's caught just 13 of his 19 targets for 166 yards and no touchdowns in only eight games played. He didn't make his season debut until Week 5 after opening the year on Injured Reserve due to a knee injury. In Philips' absence on Sunday against Houston, Treylon Burks, Nick Westbrook-Ikhine and Chris Moore will be fighting for scraps behind No. 1 receiver DeAndre Hopkins. Even though rookie quarterback Will Levis put on a show in an improbable comeback victory over the Miami Dolphins on Monday night, Hopkins is really the only receiver in Tennessee that fantasy managers can trust in their starting lineups.

Kyle Philips A Healthy Scratch In Week 13

Tennessee Titans wide receiver Kyle Philips is the odd man out as a healthy scratch for Week 13 against the Indianapolis Colts with Treylon Burks returning from his concussion on Sunday. It's a bit of a surprise that Philips is the one who gets the short end of the stick in the receiver room with Burks returning to the picture. The 24-year-old missed the first four games of the year and has produced 13 catches on 19 targets for 166 yards and no touchdowns in the seven contests that he has played in. However, he did have only one reception for minus-three yards in last week's win over the Carolina Panthers. Philips will be unavailable this weekend but will be hoping to play in Week 14 against the Miami Dolphins on Monday night.

Kyle Philips Not On Fantasy Radar Against Panthers

Tennessee Titans wide receiver Kyle Philips posted at least 61 receiving yards and saw five targets in Week 9 and Week 10. However, the second-year wideout caught just one pass for one yard in the Week 11 loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars. Heading into a Week 2 matchup with the Carolina Panthers, Philips is firmly off the fantasy radar. The Panthers have allowed the fifth-fewest fantasy points per game to wide receivers, and Tennessee's offensive struggles have kept DeAndre Hopkins as the only valuable pass-catcher on the team in fantasy football.

Kyle Philips A Deep-League Flex Option

Tennessee Titans wide receiver Kyle Philips has hauled in seven of his ten targets for 129 yards over the last two weeks. With Treylon Burks (concussion) still not likely to play in Week 11, Philips is now on the fantasy football radar. The second-year wideout has seemingly passed Nick Westbrook-Ikhine and Chris Moore on the target pecking order, and Will Levis brings more upside to the Tennessee offense than Ryan Tannehill. All that said, Philips is merely a deep-league desperation flex option against the Jacksonville Jaguars. While Levis has flashed upside, his play has come back down the Earth after his promising debut.

Kyle Philips Leads Titans In Receiving In Week 9

Tennessee Titans wide receiver Kyle Philips led the team in receiving in their 20-16 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers on Thursday night, catching four of his five targets for 68 yards. Philips' four receptions tied DeAndre Hopkins and he was third in targets behind Hopkins and running back Tyjae Spears. The 24-year-old second-year wideout showed some nice chemistry with rookie quarterback Will Levis, who looked impressive in just his second NFL start. Treylon Burks had to leave the game on a stretcher late in the fourth quarter due to an apparent head injury, so Philips' role could continue to grow if Burks is forced to miss time, which seems likely. For now, Philips is a name to watch heading into a Week 10 matchup against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Kyle Philips Hopes To Return Against Colts

Tennessee Titans wide receiver Kyle Philips (knee) said he felt good in his return to practice this week and is hoping he can return from Injured Reserve to play this Sunday against the Indianapolis Colts in Week 5. The 24-year-old has already put in some full practices this week, but it remains to be seen if Tennessee will officially activate Philips off IR so that he can make his season debut this weekend against the Colts. Philips' return would come at a nice time with Treylon Burks (knee) set to miss his second straight game. Still, the second-year wide receiver will most likely make more of an impact on special teams as a punt returner than on offense in Week 5 if he plays.

Kyle Philips Lands On Injured Reserve

The Tennessee Titans placed wide receiver Kyle Philips (knee) on Injured Reserve on Wednesday, meaning he'll now have to sit out the first four games of the 2023 regular season after injuring himself during training camp. The 24-year-old fifth-round pick last year also dealt with hamstring and shoulder injuries in 2022 that limited him to just four games played. In those four contests, he caught eight of 13 targets for 78 yards and no touchdowns. When Philips returns in 2023, he'll have a shot at a bigger role as the primary slot man in Tennessee and as the primary punt returner, but he can be left to the waiver wire for now in all redraft leagues. Behind DeAndre Hopkins and Treylon Burks (knee), Nick Westbrook-Ikhine and Chris Moore will now have more opportunities in the Titans' passing attack early in the year.

No Timetable For Kyle Philips

Tennessee Titans second-year wide receiver Kyle Philips (knee), who is dealing with an MCL injury that he suffered in the second preseason game, said there is no timetable for his return. Philips missed 13 games as a rookie in 2022 with hamstring and shoulder injuries. He was wearing a knee brace in the locker room on Monday and wasn't on the field for practice. Both he and Treylon Burks (knee) are without timelines and are taking things "day by day." With both Philips and Burks hurt, the Titans are moving forward with DeAndre Hopkins, Chris Moore and Nick Westbrook-Ikhine at the top of the receiver depth chart. Beyond them, Tennessee has rookies Colton Dowell, Kearis Jackson and Tre'Shaun Harrison. The 24-year-old Philips should be the starting slot receiver when healthy, but it might not amount to much weekly fantasy upside as long as both Hopkins and Burks are healthy.

Kyle Philips Dealing With MCL Injury

Tennessee Titans wide receiver Kyle Philips (knee) suffered an MCL injury in Saturday's preseason win over the Minnesota Vikings, and he has a timetable for a return in the range of six weeks. Fellow wideout Treylon Burks (knee) suffered an LCL sprain just four days earlier and is expected to miss four to six weeks. Tennessee will now be without two of their top three receivers for Week 1 against the New Orleans Saints. Chris Moore and Nick Westbrook-Ikhine will now fill in next to DeAndre Hopkins early in the season. Philips, a former fifth-rounder, played a big role in the team's season opener in 2022 but suffered a shoulder injury that slowed him down the rest of the way.
