Green Bay Packers head coach Matt La Fleur said he doesn't know if rookie tight end Luke Musgrave (kidney) will be able to play again this year, but he isn't ruling him out and credits Musgrave's toughness. The Packers placed Musgrave on Injured Reserve after he suffered a lacerated kidney in the Week 11 win over the Los Angeles Chargers. The earliest he can return will be Week 16, so fantasy managers in single-year formats can probably drop him if you haven't already. Josiah Deguara (hip) didn't play in the Week 12 win over the Detroit Lions either, allowing rookie Tucker Kraft to play 96% of the offensive snaps on Thanksgiving. Kraft had two catches for 15 yards and a touchdown against Detroit and should have an expanded pass-catching role in Musgrave's absence the rest of the way.

Green Bay Packers tight end Luke Musgrave (kidney) was placed on Injured Reserve on Wednesday after suffering a lacerated kidney in Week 11 against the Los Angeles Chargers. The rookie tight end will be required to miss at least the next four games. In his absence, fellow rookie tight end Tucker Kraft will be elevated to the TE1 role. Kraft has played 31.6% of the team's offensive snaps thus far, while third-year tight end Josiah Deguara (hip) has posted a 22.7% snap share. Kraft is worth monitoring against the Detroit Lions in Week 12, but for now, he should remain on the waiver wire in 12-team leagues.

Green Bay Packers tight end Luke Musgrave (kidney) will not play against the Detroit Lions on Thanksgiving. The rookie tight end suffered a lacerated kidney in the Week 11 win over the Los Angeles Chargers and spent time in the hospital this week. According to NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport, Musgrave can not travel with the team to Detroit, so he will not play. In his absence, fellow rookie tight end Tucker Kraft should see an increased role. Veteran tight end Josiah Deguara (hip) did not practice on Monday or Tuesday. Even so, Kraft is a risky fantasy option. He should only be utilized in deep tight end premium formats.

Updating a previous report, Green Bay Packers tight end Luke Musgrave is dealing with an abdominal injury and was released from a Green Bay hospital on Tuesday. Musgrave appeared to emerge from Week 11 without any issues but head coach Matt LaFleur told reporters on Tuesday that Musgrave was dealing with a "significant injury". No further details were offered at the time but fantasy managers have since learned that Musgrave suffered some sort of abdominal injury that required hospitalization. At the moment it seems unlikely that Musgrave will be ready to take the field on Thanksgiving against the Detroit Lions, although he does have one more chance to get in a practice on Wednesday. If Musgrave doesn't end up taking the field, fellow rookie Tucker Kraft would take over as the No. 1 tight end in Week 12.
Nov 21, 2023 9:27 PM EST
Green Bay Packers rookie tight end Luke Musgrave (abdomen) has a "pretty significant injury," according to head coach Matt LaFleur. "He didn't say anything all game. He's been in the hospital. This kid is as tough as they come," LaFleur said. The head coach called Musgrave's injury a "significant blow offensively." The Packers play on Thursday against the division-rival Detroit Lions, so it seems pretty unlikely that the 23-year-old will be able to play in Week 12, and he could need even longer to heal up, depending on the exact nature of his injury. If he sits out on Thanksgiving, fellow rookies Tucker Kraft and Ben Sims will get more opportunities. Kraft should be the deep-league streaming target if you're in a pinch or playing DFS on Thursday. Musgrave missed practice for a second straight day on Tuesday.

Green Bay Packers rookie tight end Luke Musgrave (abdomen) was listed on the Week 12 injury report and was given a DNP tag on Monday's estimated report. The Packers didn't hold an official practice on Monday. Fellow tight end Josiah Deguara (hip) also did not practice. Musgrave's status now bears watching ahead of the Thanksgiving game on Thursday against the Detroit Lions. The 23-year-old didn't appear to be injured in the Week 11 win over the Los Angeles Chargers, and he finished with four catches for 28 yards on his six targets. If he plays, he'll be a touchdown-dependent low-end TE1 option for fantasy managers against the Lions. If he sits out, fellow rookie Tucker Kraft could see most of Green Bay's pass-catching opportunities at the position this week.
Nov 20, 2023 7:47 PM EST
Green Bay Packers tight end Luke Musgrave caught four of six targets for 28 yards during the team's 23-20 win over the Los Angeles Chargers. The rookie came back to earth after posting a career-high 64 yards in Week 10. Fellow rookie tight end Tucker Kraft was involved a bit today as well, and he gained more yards on his two receptions than Musgrave. With quarterback Jordan Love spreading the ball around the offense, Musgrave is tough to trust as a streaming option, even in plus matchups. Next week's matchup against the Detroit Lions is promising with how many points they have allowed over recent weeks, but there are likely better streaming options on the waiver wire to plug in over the 23-year-old in Week 12. Consider Musgrave a low-end flex for his matchup on Thanksgiving day.
Nov 19, 2023 9:50 PM EST
Green Bay Packers tight end Luke Musgrave will face the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 11. The rookie racked up a season-high 64 yards against the Pittsburgh Steelers last week but failed to reach the five-target mark for the third week in a row. Musgrave has three or fewer receptions in all but three games this year and remains a tough-to-trust streamer for fantasy managers. However, this is a week that he can be used as an option off the waiver wire for those in need. Los Angeles allows the sixth-most fantasy points per game to tight ends this year and has given up the third-most yards. The ceiling for Musgrave may be capped due to how often quarterback Jordan Love spreads the ball around the offense, but the 23-year-old is a solid streamer this week against the Chargers.
Nov 17, 2023 8:28 PM EST
Green Bay Packers tight end Luke Musgrave caught two of four targets for 64 yards during the team's 19-23 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers. The rookie put up season-high yardage numbers against Pittsburgh, gaining most of them on a 36-yard reception. Volume has been the main issue for Musgrave. The Packers spread the ball around so much that the 23-year-old has cleared four targets just three times in nine games. With the Packers struggling to find the end zone and a low target share, Musgrave is tough to trust outside of top-tier matchups. Musgrave will be a low-end streaming option against the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 11.
Nov 12, 2023 6:48 PM EST
Green Bay Packers tight end Luke Musgrave will go on the road to take on the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 10. The rookie caught his first career touchdown during last week's win over the Los Angeles Rams and had his highest yardage total of the year. Unfortunately for him, he now has to go up against a Steelers defense that is tied for the second-fewest fantasy points per game allowed to the position. Pittsburgh is beatable through the air, but they do a good job locking down tight ends, allowing wide receivers to take advantage of their secondary. This will likely be a week where the target share is geared towards Christian Watson, Romeo Doubs, and Jayden Reed rather than funneled to Musgrave. With other streaming options having much friendlier matchups this week, it is best to leave Musgrave on the bench or waiver wire in Week 10.
Nov 10, 2023 10:20 AM EST
Green Bay Packers tight end Luke Musgrave caught three of four targets for 51 yards and scored in the team's Week 9 win over the Los Angeles Rams. The rookie caught his first career touchdown on a 20-yard pass deep in the fourth quarter to put the nail in the coffin of the Rams' hopes for a comeback. The 51 yards gained was also a season-high for the 23-year-old. It is nice to see Musgrave capitalize on a plus matchup, but there are still so many mouths to feed in Green Bay that he will be tough to trust moving forward. With a tough matchup against the Pittsburgh Steelers on deck for Week 10, Musgrave will be a low-tier streaming option.
Nov 5, 2023 6:53 PM EST
Green Bay Packers tight end Luke Musgrave (ankle) has been limited in practice throughout the week. Despite that, Musgrave was removed from the injury report ahead of the Week 9 matchup against the Los Angeles Rams. It looks like the rookie tight end is good to go for this favorable matchup. He has been one of the more reliable options in this offense. Fantasy managers should have Musgrave on the TE1 radar heading into this game.
Nov 3, 2023 9:12 PM EST
Green Bay Packers rookie tight end Luke Musgrave (ankle) was limited in practice again on Thursday. Musgrave suffered a left-ankle injury in Week 7 against the Denver Broncos but played in the Week 8 loss to the Minnesota Vikings. However, he may need to get back to a full practice on Friday to avoid a questionable tag for this Sunday's tilt against the Los Angeles Rams. Despite playing 74 percent of the offensive snaps last Sunday, the 23-year-old rookie caught just two passes for nine yards. There's a lot to like about Musgrave long term, but he's hard to trust as anything more than a TE2 streamer in fantasy in 2023. Through his first seven games in the NFL, he's caught 24 of 31 targets for 198 yards and no touchdowns.
Nov 2, 2023 7:35 PM EST
Green Bay Packers rookie tight end Luke Musgrave (ankle) put in a limited practice on Wednesday. Musgrave initially injured his left ankle in Week 7 but he managed to play in the Week 8 loss to the Minnesota Vikings and saw 74 percent of the offensive snaps. The 23-year-old first-year player caught just two of three targets for nine yards. Barring a setback with his ankle in practice this week, Musgrave should be good to go to play in Week 9 against the Los Angeles Rams at home. Behind a patchwork offensive line and with an inexperienced quarterback, the Packers offense has really been stagnant in recent weeks. At best, Musgrave should be considered a high-end TE2 streamer with limited upside heading into Week 9.
Nov 1, 2023 10:25 PM EST
Green Bay Packers tight end Luke Musgrave caught two of three passes for nine yards during the team's 10-24 loss to the Minnesota Vikings. The rookie dealt with an ankle injury coming into this game and could be part of the reason as to why he was so ineffective. The three targets tied a season-low for the 23-year-old, so better days are ahead, but the Packers' offense is struggling mightily, so the fantasy ceiling of Musgrave is capped at the moment. There are plenty of other streaming options to look for at tight end, but Musgrave will be in play next week against a Los Angeles Rams defense that gives up one of the highest points per game totals to fantasy tight ends.
Oct 29, 2023 6:40 PM EST
Green Bay Packers tight end Luke Musgrave (foot) is ready to go for the Week 8 matchup against the Minnesota Vikings. Musgrave missed practice on both Wednesday and Thursday due to a foot issue. However, he was on the field for the final practice session of the work and is cleared to play in this one. It's unclear if the Packers plan to limit him at all during this game. That being said, fantasy managers should consider Musgrave a TE2 for this contest.
Oct 29, 2023 12:01 PM EST
Green Bay Packers tight end Luke Musgrave (ankle) is listed as questionable for the Week 8 matchup against the Minnesota Vikings. Musgrave sat out of the first two practice sessions of the week, but was able to return on Friday. At the moment, it seems like Musgrave is going to be a legitimate game-time decision for this game. The Packers might limit his reps this week, which could hurt his fantasy value. Fantasy managers should have Musgrave as a TE2 this week, assuming he suits up.
Oct 27, 2023 4:08 PM EST
Green Bay Packers tight end Luke Musgrave (ankle) did not practice on Wednesday. The rookie tight end took some big hits in Green Bay's Week 7 game against the Denver Broncos and ended up in a walking boot following the loss. The 23-year-old needs to get limited practice over the next few days if he has any chance of playing in Week 8 against the Minnesota Vikings. Musgrave has already missed one game due to a concussion and has 189 yards on 22 catches (28 targets) for the season. Tight end Josiah Deguara would fill in for Musgrave if he can't play but he has little to no fantasy value in the Packers' Jordan Love-led offense.
Oct 25, 2023 6:27 PM EST
Green Bay Packers rookie tight end Luke Musgrave (ankle) was seen leaving the locker room with a walking boot on his left foot. The rookie was forced to leave their game against the Denver Broncos with an ankle issue after he gathered 30 yards on four catches. After the disappointing loss to the Broncos, the last thing they needed was an injury. He'll likely appear on the injury report ahead of their Week 8 game against the Minnesota Vikings, so fantasy managers will want to stay tuned for more updates throughout the week.
Oct 22, 2023 9:11 PM EST
Green Bay Packers tight end Luke Musgrave (ankle) is questionable to return to Sunday's matchup with the Denver Broncos. He was having a decent day for fantasy managers before going down with an ankle injury, catching four of his five targets for 30 yards. Hopefully, it isn't anything serious. However, Musgrave may appear on the injury report ahead of the Packers' upcoming NFC North meeting with Minnesota in Week 8.
