Analysis: The Vikings selected Stanley in the seventh round of the 2020 NFL Draft. The Iowa product was unable to make the team and instead occupied the practice squad all season. The 23-year-old will compete to be Kirk Cousin's backup in 2021.
The Vikings signed Stanley to the practice squad Tuesday, Andrew Krammer of the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.
Analysis: The Vikings opted to sign both Stanley and fellow signal-caller Jake Browning to the practice squad. Both quarterbacks had been waived by the team this weekend amid roster cuts.

Analysis: The 2020 seventh-round selection was always viewed as a likely practice squad candidate so this designation shouldn't be entirely surprising.
