Phillip Dorsett: Joins Seattle wideout corps

Dorsett will sign a one-year deal with the Seahawks, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.

Analysis: The speedy Dorsett, who caught 29 passes for 397 yards and five TDs in 14 games with the Patriots last season, now has a chance to claim Seattle's No. 3 wideout role behind Tyler Lockett and DK Metcalf. It's a new team context that should garner the 2015 first-rounder added volume after only seeing 54 targets in 2019.

Phillip Dorsett: Hauls in 29 passes in 2019

Dorsett finished the 2019 regular season with 29 catches (on 54 targets) for 397 yards and five TDs in 14 games. He also logged three carries for 21 yards.

Analysis: The 2015 first-rounder started off the season with a two-TD effort in Week 1, but his subsequent production was hit-or-miss and he finished things out by working as the team's No. 4 wide receiver (behind Julian Edelman, Mohamed Sanu and N'Keal Harry) in the Patriots' wild-card loss to the Titans. The 27-year-old is slated to become an unrestricted free agent this offseason and it remains to be seen if he re-ups with New England as a complementary option or heads elsewhere in search of a more playing time.

Phillip Dorsett: Big catch in Week 17 loss

Dorsett brought in one of four targets for 50 yards in the Patriots' 27-24 loss to the Dolphins on Sunday.

Analysis: Dorsett's big play aside, he was a non-factor despite compiling his highest yardage total since Week 3. The speedster hadn't logged a target his previous two games and failed to come up with his pair of looks three contests ago, so Sunday's sole reception was actually a step up. However, Dorsett and the rest of the pass-catching corps will presumably have to be a lot more productive in next weekend's Wild Card game against the Texans for the Patriots to have a chance to advance to the divisional round.

Phillip Dorsett: Logs five snaps on offense Saturday

Dorsett logged five of a possible 73 snaps on offense in Saturday's 24-17 win over the Bills.

Analysis: Dorsett wasn't targeted in the game and was out-snapped by both N'Keal Harry (37) and Jakobi Meyers (14). With Julian Edelman and Mohamed Sanu also in the mix, Dorsett's fantasy upside is limited so long as the team's other wide receivers remain healthy.

Phillip Dorsett: Logs just nine offensive snaps

Dorsett was not targeted during Sunday's 34-13 win over Cincinnati.

Analysis: Dorsett has not been held without a catch in back-to-back games and hasn't topped 40 yards in a game since Week 8. There's been a lot of talk in New England about Tom Brady's dissatisfaction with some of his receivers and Dorsett's lack of playing time seems to indicate that he's in the dog house. Next up is a matchup with Buffalo, a defense that held Dorsett to 19 total yards in Week 4.

Phillip Dorsett: Held without a catch

Dorsett was on the field for 33 of a possible 67 snaps on offense in Sunday's 23-16 loss to the Chiefs.

Analysis: Dorsett, who was out-snapped Sunday by Julian Edelman (66), Mohamed Sanu (39) and Jakobi Meyers (38), was targeted twice but didn't record a catch in the contest. He's something of a bounce-back candidate in Week 15 against the Bengals, but volume could continue to be an issue for Dorsett down the stretch, given that QB Tom Brady's only consistent targets to date have been Julian Edelman and James White.

December 9, 2019 10:19 AM EST

Phillip Dorsett: Two catches for 15 yards in Week 13

Dorsett was on the field for 62 of a possible 87 snaps on offense in Sunday's 28-22 loss to the Texans.

Analysis: In his return from a one-game absence, Dorsett hauled in two of his six targets for 15 yards. He'll look to bounce back in Week 14 against the Chiefs, but steady volume figures to be an issue for Dorsett down the stretch, with Julian Edelman, Mohamed Sanu, Jakobi Meyers and N'Keal Harry also in the team's wide receiver mix.

Phillip Dorsett: Active for Sunday night game

Dorsett (concussion) is listed as active for Sunday night's game against the Texans.

Analysis: As is Mohamed Sanu (ankle), which sets the stage for QB Tom Brady to have all his key wide receiver options options available in Week 13. In that context, Dorsett profiles as a hit-or-miss fantasy option, with volume a concern, but he has at least logged five TDs in nine games to date.

Phillip Dorsett: Traveling with team

Dorsett (concussion), who is listed as questionable for Sunday's game, traveled with the team to Houston, Mike Reiss of reports.

Analysis: More information regarding their respective status should be available closer to Sunday's 8:20 p.m ET kickoff, but it's entirely possible the entire Patriots' receiving corps could be healthy for Sunday's prime-time affair, as both Dorsett and Mohamed Sanu (ankle) traveled with the team to Houston on Saturday. Expect Dorsett to split time with N'Keal Harry and Jakobi Meyers with Sanu and Julian Edelman (shoulder) acting as the top two wideouts in the case both are healthy enough to play.

Phillip Dorsett: Listed as questionable

Dorsett (concussion) is listed as questionable for Sunday night's game against the Texans after practicing in a limited fashion all week.

Analysis: The same applies to Julian Edelman (shoulder) and Mohamed Sanu (ankle), though we're pretty sure that Edelman will play. Meanwhile, Dorsett appears to be on track to suit up after clearing the NFL's concussion protocol and Sanu seems to be trending in the right direction. Assuming he does return to the mix this weekend, Dorsett seems likely to see enough looks to merit deep-league PPR consideration, plus he's also a candidate to score, having made five trips to the end zone in nine contests to date.

Phillip Dorsett: Another limited practice

Dorsett (concussion) remained limited at practice Thursday, Nick Underhill of The Athletic reports.

Analysis: We'll revisit the wideout's status Friday, but as long as he avoids any setbacks, Dorsett is trending toward active status Sunday night against the Texans.

November 28, 2019 12:55 PM EST

Phillip Dorsett: Clears protocol, limited at practice

Dorsett (concussion) indicated that he's out of the NFL's concussion protocol, Mike Reiss of reports.

Analysis: The wideout practiced in a limited fashion Wednesday, per Reiss, and if Dorsett avoids any setbacks in the coming days, he's trending toward a return to action Sunday against the Texans.

November 27, 2019 1:46 PM EST

Phillip Dorsett: Practicing Wednesday

Dorsett (concussion) was on the practice field Wednesday, Zack Cox of reports.

Analysis: Last week, Dorsett made inroads in his recovery from a concussion, practicing in a limited capacity Thursday and Friday. Still, he didn't complete all phases of the protocol for head injuries prior to this past Sunday's game versus the Cowboys. Per Jeremy Fowler of, Dorsett hopes to be cleared in time for the Pats' Week 13 visit to Houston, and logging a full session Wednesday would set him on such a path.

November 27, 2019 10:41 AM EST

Phillip Dorsett: May be back Sunday

Dorsett (concussion) may return for Sunday's game at Houston, Jeremy Fowler of reports.

Analysis: According to Fowler's source, Dorsett is confident he'll make his way through the concussion protocol and get cleared by an independent neurologist. His presence Week 13 would be a welcome sight, as the receiving corps also was without Mohamed Sanu (ankle) this past Sunday at Philadelphia. At the moment, Julian Edelman, N'Keal Harry and Jakobi Myers are the Patriots' only healthy wide receivers.

November 25, 2019 3:30 PM EST

Phillip Dorsett: Inactive Sunday

Dorsett (concussion) is inactive for Sunday's game against the Cowboys.

Analysis: As is Mohamed Sanu (ankle), which means that New England's Week 12 wide receiver corps will be headed by Julian Edelman (shoulder), along with N'Keal Harry and Jakobi Meyers.

November 24, 2019 12:05 PM EST

Phillip Dorsett: Not expected to play

Dorsett (concussion) is not expected to play Sunday against the Cowboys, Andrew Callahan of The Boston Herald reports.

Analysis: Confirmation of Dorsett's anticipated absence will arrive upon the release of the Patriots' inactives in advance of Sunday's 4:25 ET kickoff and with Mohamed Sanu (ankle) also a candidate to miss the game, N'Keal Harry and Jakobi Meyers could see expanded roles in Week 12.

November 24, 2019 11:22 AM EST

Phillip Dorsett: Still not fully cleared

Dorsett (concussion) has not been cleared for to resume full football activities as of Saturday, Mike Reiss of reports.

Analysis: It's a troubling distinction with just one day left before Sunday's pivotal contest against the Cowboys, made worse by the fact No. 2 wide receiver Mohamed Sanu (ankle) is not expected to play. The Patriots did list Dorsett as questionable following Friday's injury report, but Reiss seemed to indicate the team plans to be without their top speed threat. With Julian Edelman also hampered by a shoulder injury, the Patriots have just two healthy wide receivers -- N'Keal Harry and Jakobi Meyers -- on their roster, although early reports seem to indicate Edelman will be available.

November 23, 2019 7:13 AM EST

Phillip Dorsett: Listed as questionable

Dorsett (concussion) is listed as questionablee for Sunday's game against the Cowboys after logging limited practices Thursday and Friday.

Analysis: Also limited Friday and listed as questionable by the Patriots were fellow receivers Mohamed Sanu (ankle) and Julian Edelman (shoulder). We'd be surprised if Edelman was out against Dallas, but Sanu missed practice both Wednesday and Thursday and it's unclear where Dorsett resides in the NFL's concussion protocol at this stage. We'll look for added clarity with regard to the trio's Week 12 status as Sunday's 4:25 ET kickoff approaches, but N'Keal Harry and Jakobi Meyers are next in line for added snaps if the Patriots' wideout corps ends up shorthanded at all this weekend.

November 22, 2019 1:48 PM EST

Phillip Dorsett: Returns to limited practice

Dorsett (concussion) logged a limited practice Thursday.

Analysis: Dorsett was listed as a non-participant Wednesday, with his upgrade in participation Thursday signifying a positive step as he progresses through the NFL's concussion protocol. We'll revisit Dorsett's status Friday, but his Week 12 availability gains added import with fellow receiver Mohamed Sanu (ankle) having already logged back-to-back DNP's.

November 21, 2019 1:22 PM EST

Phillip Dorsett: At practice Thursday

Dorsett (concussion) was present for the media-access portion of Thursday's practice, Mike Reiss of reports.

Analysis: The same applies to Mohamed Sanu (ankle), with Reiss noting that Sanu "did not go through the position-specific warmup, while Dorsett did." We'll circle back later Thursday to see how the Patriots list the duo's participation level. Per Zack Cox of, though Dorsett was in attendance for Wednesday's session, he was ultimately classified as a non-participant.
