Headed to injured reserve

Streater (neck) was placed on injured reserve Tuesday, Scott Petrak of The Elyria Chronicle-Telegram reports.

Analysis: Streater was declared out for the season Monday, so his placement on IR was merely a formality. The veteran receiver will look to work his way back for 2019 training camp.

Ruled out for season

Streater (neck) has been ruled out for the remainder of the season.

Analysis: Streater suffered the neck injury while on punt coverage in the first quarter. Fortunately, the wideout does not need surgery and the team doctors do expect a full recovery. Streater will likely be placed on injured reserve in the next day or two.

Won't return Sunday

Streater won't return to Sunday's game against the Chargers after suffering a stinger in his neck, Scott Petrak of the Elyria Chronicle-Telegram reports.

Analysis: Streater sustained the injury while covering a punt in the first quarter. Damion Ridley should step in as the Browns' No. 3 receiver with Rashard Higgins (knee) inactive Sunday.

Signing with Cleveland

Streater signed a contract with the Browns on Monday, Zac Jackson of The Athletic Cleveland reports.

Analysis: The addition of Streater replenishes the Browns' depth at receiver after the team traded away Josh Gordon (hamstring) earlier in the day. Most recently with the Bills, Streater is now on to his fourth team in as many years and will provide Cleveland with a valuable veteran presence in an otherwise youthful position group. It's unclear how he'll fit into the offensive picture, though Streater's potential production would more likely come at the expense of Rashard Higgins or Antonio Callaway than Jarvis Landry.

Loses out to younger options

Streater was part of Saturday's roster cutdown, John Murphy of the Bills' official site reports.

Analysis: The Bills kept Andre Holmes as their veteran depth option, then used the fifth and sixth spots on rookies Robert Foster and Ray-Ray McCloud. Streater has enough experience where he'll probably be given another chance somewhere once injuries strike around the league.
