Time up in Indy

The Colts waived Ishmael (knee) on Monday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.

Analysis: Ishamel spent the entire 2019 season on injured reserve due to a knee injury, after having spent much of 2018 on the Colts' practice squad and (briefly) active roster. When healthy, he'll now be free to search for another opportunity as a depth wideout.

Placed on IR

Ishmael (knee) was placed on injured reserve Wednesday.

Analysis: Ishmael suffered a knee injury during Monday's practice, and now lands on IR. The undrafted free agent from Syracuse spent much of the 2018 season on Indianapolis' practice squad and active roster, but has yet to make his NFL debut.

Out with knee injury

Ishmael suffered a knee injury in Monday's practice. "Steve's dealing with a knee," head coach Frank Reich told the Indianapolis Star. "It's more than just a tweak, so we'll have to get the full evaluation on that."

Analysis: The undrafted free agent from Syracuse spent time on the Colts' practice squad last season. A significant injury will make it hard for him to win a roster spot in the preseason.

Signs contract with Indianapolis

Ishmael signed a reserve/future contract with the Colts.

Analysis: Ishmael went undrafted out of Syracuse last year after snagging 105 passes for 1,347 yards during his final season with the Orange. He spent time on the Colts' practice squad during the 2018 campaign and will now stick around in Indianapolis for at least another offseason with hopes of carving out a depth role under T.Y. Hilton in advance of 2019.

Added to Colts' practice squad

Ishmael was signed to the Colts' practice squad Tuesday, George Bremer of The Anderson Herald Bulletin reports.

Analysis: It's been a busy week for Ishmael after he was released by the Colts on Nov. 9, and subsequently brought back by the team Tuesday. The Syracuse product is unlikely to provide any fantasy value in 2018.

Released by Indianapolis

Ishmael was waived by the Colts on Friday.

Analysis: Ishmael was originally promoted from the practice squad Oct. 26. In a corresponding move, the Colts activated defensive lineman Tyquan Lewis from injured reserve and linebacker Skai Moore from the practice squad.

Promoted from practice squad

The Colts signed Ishmael off their practice squad Friday.

Analysis: Ishmael's promotion to the 53-man roster comes following the placement of Jihad Ward (ankle) on injured reserve. An undrafted free agent out of Syracuse, Ishmael played well during the offseason with Indianapolis but was waived during final cuts. With Ryan Grant (ankle) out and Zach Pascal (head) listed as questionable, Ishmael has a chance to receive limited offensive snaps behind T.Y. Hilton and Chester Rodgers against the Raiders on Sunday.

Snags two catches Monday

Ishmael hauled in two receptions for 52 yards in Monday's preseason game against the Ravens.

Analysis: Ishmael signed with the Colts as an undrafted free agent back in May after a successful career at Syracuse. While he showed some promise in limited action Monday, Ishmael is still likely sitting right on the roster bubble as part of a young core in Indianapolis.
