Let go by Tampa Bay

Buccaneers head coach Todd Bowles said Tuesday that Jonsen "is no longer with the team" following his arrest, Greg Auman of The Athletic reports.

Analysis: The UDFA out of Montana State was arrested Monday morning by the Tampa Police Department on a misdemeanor charge of driving under the influence. Jonsen spent the 2020 season and part of the 2021 campaign on the Buccaneers' practice squad, but he was never elevated to the 53-man roster and has yet to make his NFL debut.

Arrested on DUI charge

Jonsen was arrested Monday morning by the Tampa Police Department on a misdemeanor charge of count of driving under the influence, Greg Auman of The Athletic reports.

Analysis: Jonsen spent the 2020 season and parts of the 2021 campaign on the Buccaneers' practice squad, but he's never made the 53-man roster. The 25-year-old wideout was likely facing long odds odds to make the final roster prior to his arrest. It's possible that Jonsen could face a suspension if the NFL deems him to have violated the substance abuse policy.

The Buccaneers signed Jonsen to a reserve/future contract Wednesday, Greg Auman of The Athletic reports.

Analysis: Jonsen was released from Tampa Bay's practice squad in October but will rejoin the organization early in the offseason. While he's failed to land on the team's 53-man roster to begin either of the last two seasons, he'll have another chance to showcase his potential ahead of the 2022 campaign.

Analysis: Jonsen was waived by the Lions after signing with their practice squad Nov. 9. The 25-year-old receiver hasn't appeared in an NFL game in his career. He signed with Tampa Bay as an undrafted free agent in 2020 and after his release in October, was signed by the Lions.

The 6-foot-4, 211-pound wideout was a versatile weapon during his final season at Montana State in 2019, finishing with 55 receptions for 580 yards and a touchdown and 82 rushes for 526 yards and eight scores.

Analysis: The undrafted free agent out of Montana State signed with the Buccaneers in April but suffered a quadriceps injury and was eventually waived by the team with an injury tag. The 6-foot-4, 211-pound wideout is healthy now and will rejoin the team. During his final collegiate season, Jonsen produced 1,106 yards from scrimmage (580 receiving, 526 rushing) and nine total touchdowns.
