The 2025 season has been the same story for Minnesota Vikings kicker Will Reichard: he's been excellent when the team has needed him, but a major regression on offense has made him an average fantasy play most weeks. More than 17% of the Vikings' drives have ended in turnovers, far and away the worst rate in the NFL, and the offense is now scoring on fewer than a third of its possessions overall. Naturally, the second-year kicker has been unpredictable alongside an offense that is struggling to stay on the field. Reichard has eight makes from beyond 50 yards this year and is a terrific 21-for-23 on field goal attempts, but starting him in Week 14 will be contingent on the Minnesota offense breaking its slump against the Washington Commanders. However, against a Washington defense allowing scoring drives at the highest rate in the NFL, there is some hope for Reichard, albeit with risk involved.
Dec 5, 2025 3:20 PM EST
Minnesota Vikings kicker Will Reichard should be regarded as a No. 2 kicker option in Week 12, which should keep him off the starting radar in most formats. The former Alabama standout has put together an excellent second season in Minnesota by making 19 of 21 field goal attempts and all 19 extra points, but the Vikings' offense has sputtered in the past two weeks. Starting quarterback J.J. McCarthy is completing just more than half of his passes and has thrown five interceptions in the past three games, which has naturally limited the offense. While tied to a struggling offense facing a road game against one of the NFL's better defenses, Reichard can be stashed in Week 12 with more favorable matchups on the horizon.
Nov 21, 2025 3:13 PM EST
Will Reichard of the Minnesota Vikings should be considered one of the top fantasy kickers when his team takes on the Chicago Bears in Week 11. A top-10 overall fantasy kicker through the halfway point of the NFL season, Reichard has converted all 17 of his extra points and 18 of 20 field goals, including six of them from beyond 50 yards. The Bears are allowing the fourth-highest yards per carry average and surrendering passing touchdowns at the third-highest rate in the league, which could give an erratic Vikings offense an opportunity for a bounce-back week. In an indoor venue against a below-average defense, Reichard is ranked as RotoBaller's No. 4 kicker for Week 11.
Nov 14, 2025 6:32 PM EST
Kicker Will Reichard should be considered an average fantasy option when his Minnesota Vikings play host to the Baltimore Ravens in Week 10. Baltimore ranks 24th against fantasy kickers on the season, but has seen its defense come to life in the past month. The Ravens have held their past three opponents to an average of 13 points, and they enter the game with a few days of added rest after playing the Thursday night game in Week 9. Minnesota quarterback J.J. McCarthy performed admirably in a big win at Detroit, but he's started only three times in his career, and some bumps in the road should be expected. Reichard has been excellent overall, however, making 16-of-18 field goal attempts, but a tough-to-predict Vikings offense makes him a middling fantasy option.
Nov 7, 2025 5:54 PM EST
Minnesota Vikings kicker Will Reichard should be avoided in most formats when the Vikings travel to Detroit in Week 9. Not only have the Vikings struggled on offense, ranking 31st in the league in sack rate, but they'll be reintroducing quarterback J.J. McCarthy after he missed the past five games with an ankle injury. Detroit has one of the best run defenses in the league at the midway point of the season, and Minnesota is coming off an absolute dud in Week 8, during which they ran 47 plays and gained only 164 yards. Though Reichard has been mostly reliable when called upon, making 14-of-16 field goals and all 13 extra points, the volatility around him makes him tough to trust in a fantasy lineup.

Following an outsized fantasy performance last week against the Philadelphia Eagles, Minnesota Vikings kicker Will Reichard is a mid-tier option with his team facing a Thursday night matchup against the Los Angeles Chargers. Reichard is the No. 8 overall fantasy kicker so far in 2025, but largely because of a five-field-goal performance in Week 7 that included a make from beyond 50. However, Minnesota is still starting turnover-happy backup quarterback Carson Wentz, whose offense scored only one touchdown from six tries last week. Reichard is now 13-for-14 on field goals this year and a capable fantasy kicker, but managers should try to find a higher-volume option with a better matchup this week.
Oct 22, 2025 10:08 PM EST
Minnesota Vikings kicker Will Reichard is a mid-tier kicking option when his team plays host to the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 7. The second-year man has been mostly excellent this season, going 11-for-11 on extra points and 8-for-9 on field goals, with the lone miss impacted by an overhead wire during the Vikings' trip to London. Reichard has a solid matchup against Philly, but the bigger concern is the Minnesota offense, which will again start backup quarterback Carson Wentz with J.J. McCarthy (ankle) deemed questionable. The Vikings finished their most recent game with four backups on the offensive line, but should have at least three of five normal starters available Sunday. Reichard has been in good form, but an up-and-down Vikings offense impacts the number of chances he ultimately gets.
Oct 17, 2025 4:47 PM EST
In one of the more bizarre plays of the season, Minnesota Vikings kicker Will Reichard's attempt to tie last week's game against Cleveland with a 51-yard field goal abruptly sliced and missed wide right -- but with good reason. The Athletic reported and video appears to confirm the Vikings' belief that the ball actually struck one of the overhead wires, at which point the down should have been replayed. Minnesota came back to win anyway, but fantasy managers who started Reichard had some awful luck, as a high-scoring field goal that initially looked good ended up as a miss, and the officiating crew missed the reason why. From a fantasy perspective, Reichard has been a nice surprise in spite of a Vikings offense ravaged by injuries, going for 11-for-11 on PATs and 8-for-8 on field goals that were not blocked by objects in the field of play.
Oct 7, 2025 2:01 PM EST
Kicker Will Reichard is a fantasy risk in Week 5 while attached to a Minnesota Vikings offense hounded by injuries and facing the Cleveland Browns, who have one of the better defensive fronts in football. The Alabama product has been outstanding this season, going 8-for-8 in both field goals and extra points, but the Vikings are down to their third-string center, missing starting left guard Donovan Jackson (wrist), starting right tackle Brian O'Neill (knee), running back Aaron Jones (hamstring), and quarterback J.J. McCarthy (ankle). This week, they'll face a Cleveland run defense that allows fewer yards per rush than anyone in the league, which could severely limit Reichard's chances. Managers should look for another option.
Oct 3, 2025 4:02 PM EST
Minnesota Vikings kicker Will Reichard should be viewed as a fringe starter for this week's matchup against the Pittsburgh Steelers in Ireland, the first of two European games for Minnesota. The second-year kicker has been terrific so far in 2025, connecting on all six field-goal attempts, all seven PATs, and setting a franchise record with a 62-yard make. The Steelers are one of the tougher matchups for fantasy kickers, however, and the Vikings are facing an unusual variable this week: the turf. In the past, NFL players have complained about slippery surfaces in some of the international games played in soccer stadiums, which is particularly relevant for Reichard. He's still a mid-range option given his good form, but managers should evaluate other options, too.
Sep 26, 2025 4:38 PM EST
Facing a mid-tier matchup against the Cincinnati Bengals, Minnesota Vikings kicker Will Reichard can most likely be avoided in Week 3. The Vikings' offense has been awry for most of the year, and will be without starting quarterback J.J. McCarthy (ankle), starting center Ryan Kelly (concussion), and possibly down to a third-string left tackle depending on the status of starter Christian Darrisaw (knee). Oddsmakers are predicting a low-scoring game -- the Vikings-Bengals matchup is tied for the lowest over/under of the weekend -- with both sides starting their No. 2 quarterback. It's a lot of moving parts that are directly tied to Reichard's involvement in the game, meaning managers probably can find a safer starter elsewhere.
Sep 19, 2025 7:19 PM EST
Kicker Will Reichard of the Minnesota Vikings faces a middle-of-the-road matchup against the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday night. The second-year kicker had a strong opening week in which he converted two field goal attempts at Chicago, including a key 59-yarder that helped Minnesota get something out of a poor first half offensively. Now back in the friendlier confines of indoor U.S. Bank Stadium, Reichard and the Vikings will take on a Falcons defense that held Tampa Bay to 260 yards of total offense in Week 1. Reichard has been solid when healthy, but the Vikings' offense is likely to be hot-and-cold as they break in a first-time starting quarterback this season.
Sep 12, 2025 4:46 PM EST
Minnesota Vikings kicker Will Reichard should be viewed as a low-end starting option during his team's Week 1 matchup against the Chicago Bears. The second-year kicker had an excellent start to his first season -- he made every kick in his first seven games -- but saw his year go sideways with a quadriceps injury that required an IR stint and affected his performance during the season half. Now healthy, he's still attached to a talented Vikings offense that rebuilt its offensive line, added running back Jordan Mason, and traded for receiver Adam Thielen. Chicago can be a treacherous place to kick, but Minnesota will make the journey early in the season with pleasant weather in the forecast.
Sep 6, 2025 3:37 PM EST
Minnesota Vikings placekicker Will Reichard is a solid option this Monday night when he lines up with the Los Angeles Rams on the road. It's been a tale of two halves for the 24-year-old in his debut campaign. Reichard was excellent early in the year -; missing nary a kick in his first seven appearances. However, he hasn't been as fortunate since. The rookie missed his first two field goals in Week 9 and was placed on injured reserve afterward with a quad injury. Despite only a minimum IR stay, his kicking troubles have continued -; missing at least one attempt in three of the ensuing five contests. Still, he's yet to miss an extra-point try in 2024 and has an excellent opportunity to hang some more points on the board against a Rams defensive unit that allowed the seventh-most total yards per game in the NFL (352.8).
Jan 11, 2025 6:18 PM EST
Minnesota Vikings placekicker Will Reichard is an excellent play this Sunday in a divisional bout with the Detroit Lions. The rookie missed another two kicks in last weekend's 27-25 win over the Green Bay Packers -- 43- and 57-yard field-goal tries that both doinked out -- to bookend his performance. Still, he hit his other two kicks (25, 50) and all three extra-point attempts. Reichard missed two kicks in another game -- the one in which he injured his quad -- but has otherwise failed to connect on only one other field goal in 2024. Additionally, he's knocked through all 38 XP attempts. The Alabama product ranks as RotoBaller's K4 ahead of this weekend.
Jan 3, 2025 5:22 PM EST
Minnesota Vikings kicker Will Reichard gets an unfavorable spot against the visiting Green Bay Packers this Sunday. The rookie has been excellent since returning from a quad injury in Week 14. Reichard missed a field goal that Sunday in a win over the Atlanta Falcons, but he's otherwise been perfect over that stretch -; knocking through all other 17 kicks (five field goals). The Packers' D has been solid this year, allowing the sixth-fewest points per game (19.1). Still, the Vikings' offense has been among the best in the league -; clocking in at the ninth-most points scored per outing (26.4). Reichard made all five of his kicks in the two team's first meeting and should again be afforded point opportunities in the divisional clash. He's RotoBaller's K9 in Week 17's rankings.
Dec 27, 2024 5:51 PM EST
Minnesota Vikings kicker Will Reichard is a fringe top option in Week 16 when his team lines up against the Seattle Seahawks on the road. The rookie was excellent in last weekend's 30-12 win over the Chicago Bears, knocking in all six of his kicks (three extra points), including his first field goals since returning from a quad injury that forced him to injured reserve. Despite his monster Week 15 outing, he'll be tougher to trust against a Seahawks unit that's allowed the eighth-fewest fantasy points per game to kickers in 2024 (6.8). Even with a potent Minnesota offense behind him, fantasy managers can likely find a better kicking option in the fantasy semi-finals. Reichard is RotoBaller's K14 ahead of this week's slate of action.
Dec 20, 2024 6:10 PM EST
Minnesota Vikings kicker Will Reichard is a strong option this weekend when he lines up against the Chicago Bears on Monday Night Football. The rookie returned from injured reserve last Sunday to drive through all six extra-point attempts in the Vikings' defeat of the Atlanta Falcons. However, he did miss his lone field goal try. Reichard actually hasn't converted a field goal since missing both tries in Week 9 against the Colts -; the week he got injured. Still, he's yet to miss a point after attempt in his career. Chicago is letting up one of the higher average point-per-game numbers to placekickers (9.1) and has been a bit more porous overall on the defensive end over the last few weeks. The 23-year-old is RotoBaller's K4 for Week 15.
Dec 14, 2024 4:07 PM EST
Minnesota Vikings kicker Will Reichard went 6-for-6 on extra points but missed his lone field-goal attempt during Sunday's Week 14 win over the Atlanta Falcons. The rookie returned from injured reserve this week, but his accuracy issues persisted; he is now 0-for-3 on field goals over his last two games. On a more positive note, he has been perfect on 29 extra-point attempts so far. Reichard ranked as the overall K12 from Weeks 1 to 9. Despite Sunday's miss from 47 yards out, the 23-year-old still has significant fantasy upside given Minnesota's strong offense. He remains just inside the top 12 kicking options for Week 15 against Chicago.
Dec 9, 2024 11:37 AM EST
Minnesota Vikings rookie kicker Will Reichard (quadriceps), who was activated from Injured Reserve on Saturday, is officially active for the Week 14 contest against the Atlanta Falcons. Reichard was listed as questionable on the final injury report this week but will end up playing for the first time since he landed on IR in early November due to a strained right quadriceps in the win over the Indianapolis Colts in Week 9. With Reichard coming back for the Vikings, the team waived John Parker Romo, who had been filling in admirably for Minnesota with Reichard sidelined. Before going on IR, the 23-year-old Reichard had gone 14-for-16 on his field-goal tries while making all 23 of his extra-point attempts in his first eight NFL games. He'll be a bit more risky in fantasy coming off his quad injury, but Reichard should at least be considered a streaming option with six teams on bye in Week 14.
