Zamir White Leads Raiders Rushing Attack, Out Snapped By Alexander Mattison

As expected, Las Vegas Raiders running back Zamir White spearheaded the Raiders' ground game with 13 carries for 44 yards while catching both of his targets for two yards in Sunday's 22-10 loss to the Los Angeles Chargers. His performance was lackluster, with minimal gains and a fumble that didn't help his case. Alexander Mattison out-snapped White 36 to 23 in Week 1. Despite leading in carries, his efficiency was poor, and the fumble could affect his future touches. It doesn't help fantasy managers that Mattison caught a 31-year touchdown from Gardner Minshew II. White's role might not shrink immediately, but his fantasy stock is shaky. Facing a tough Ravens defense in week two, White is considered a flex option with caution; his value could dip if he doesn't secure the ball better.

Zamir White To Be The Bell Cow Running Back?

Las Vegas Raiders running back Zamir White has been the heavy favorite to be the team's starter this season after losing Josh Jacobs in free agency. Offensive coordinator Luke Getsy said, "You're looking for someone to take the lead," when asked about the possibility of White being the featured running back this season. White was a top-10 running back during the four contests Jacobs missed last year, averaging 21 rushing attempts and nearly 100 yards per game. Some fantasy players were worried that the third-year player wouldn't have a featured role in 2024, given how late he played in some preseason games. However, White is the most likely candidate to be the featured guy in the Las Vegas backfield. The former Georgia star is a low-end RB2 with a safe floor for his Week 1 matchup against the Los Angeles Chargers.

Zamir White's Solid Preseason Offers Promise For 2024

Las Vegas Raiders running back Zamir White rushed 10 times for 46 yards during the preseason. White is in line to be the Raiders' No. 1 running back after Josh Jacobs departed for the Green Bay Packers in free agency. The young playmaker faces very little competition in Las Vegas, where Alexander Mattison and Dylan Laube are new to the team but aren't expected to steal many of White's touches. We can't forget that White ranked as the overall RB9 when Jacobs was injured over the final four weeks of last season. Heading into 2024, White has only gotten better and the Raiders' offensive line has improved. White should have no trouble producing this season, making him a stable RB2 option in most fantasy leagues.

Zamir White Continuing To Level Up His Play

Las Vegas Raiders running back Zamir White continues his strong showing during training camp with his fast and physical running style. Showing that he's a great fit for new offensive coordinator Luke Getsy's scheme, White has been bouncing off of defenders throughout practice on Tuesday. White received six carries for 23 yards and punched in a touchdown from two yards out in the first preseason contest against the Minnesota Vikings on Saturday as he sits perched on top of the depth chart at the running back position without much opposition. A breakout candidate in his third season as a pro, the former Georgia Bulldog is a worthwhile mid-round pick in fantasy drafts as an RB2 who could be a big value this season with Josh Jacobs now in Green Bay.

Zamir White In Command Of The Raiders' RB1 Job

Las Vegas Raiders running back Zamir White seems to be in the driver's seat for the starting running back job. This is no surprise given that White finished the final four games of 2023, averaging 99.25 yards per game on 4.7 yards per carry in relief of an injured Josh Jacobs. With Jacobs now in Green Bay, White can step into a significantly voluminous role. Still, the Raiders added Alexander Mattison in free agency and Dylan Laube in the draft while retaining Ameer Abdullah. It would seem that none of those players have done enough to threaten White's job. The Raiders have indicated they want to win games with a stifling defense and a downhill rushing attack. This is not projected to be a high-powered offense, but volume is king. Given the volume that Jacobs used to receive, White could end up returning value on his ADP of RB24. There is, of course, a world where White's small sample size does not indicate his potential for full-season production. Proceed with caution, but the lack of risk is built into White's ADP.

Zamir White Will Have To Prove Himself

Las Vegas Raiders running back Zamir White stepped up last season and is in great shape heading into the 2024 season, but he will have to prove it to the coaching staff again this year and to new general manager Tom Telesco. The Raiders lost Josh Jacobs in free agency but brought in Alexander Mattison because of his fit to the new offense. The Athletic's Vic Tafur also writes that the Raiders could add another running back if either White or Mattison get off to a slow start in training camp this summer. The 24-year-old White is expected to open the season as Vegas' lead back, with Mattison filling a complementary role ahead of RB3 Ameer Abdullah. As long as he doesn't fall flat in training camp and the preseason, fantasy managers should view White as a low-end RB2/high-end RB3 as he takes on an expanded role with Jacobs out of the picture.

Zamir White With A Huge Workload In Week 18

Las Vegas Raiders running back Zamir White got the start again and handled another huge workload in Week 18 against the Denver Broncos. White had 25 carries for 112 yards on the ground. The Raiders running back around brought in one of his two targets for nine yards in this contest. White finished his season strong and made a great case to be the team's starting running back if Josh Jacobs departs in the offseason. White and the Raiders have been eliminated from the playoffs, so their season has ended. Fantasy managers and Raiders fans will be interested to see what transpires before the beginning of next season for this team that cleared house in the middle of the season.

Zamir White Will Start In Week 18

Las Vegas Raiders running back Zamir White has been the team's starting running back since Week 15 and has looked dominant in the role since taking over. White ran for 71 yards on 20 carries last week against the Indianapolis Colts. In addition to his massive workload on the ground, White brought in five of his six targets for 35 receiving yards. White has stepped up in the absence of Josh Jacobs, and he should continue to dominate in Week 18. White faces the Denver Broncos in the final game of the season. The Broncos have allowed the fourth-most fantasy points per game to running backs this season. White is heavily involved on the ground and in the passing game, which makes him extremely valuable. Fantasy managers should not think twice because White is essentially a must-start.

Zamir White With A Huge Workload In Loss

Las Vegas Raiders running back Zamir White had 20 carries for 71 yards in the loss to the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday. White also had five catches for 35 yards on six targets in this contest. White again handled the majority of carries and catches out of the backfield. Despite the numerous opportunities, White could not score a touchdown in this contest. Outside of White and Davante Adams, the Raiders had no real playmakers on offense against the Indianapolis team. The Raiders take on the Denver Broncos in Week 18. The Broncos are one of the easiest matchups for running backs, allowing the most rushing yards per game this season. Raiders running back Josh Jacobs did not practice this week, so there is still doubt surrounding his return for Week 18. If White remains the starter against the Broncos, he should be a near must-start player. Fantasy managers should watch the Raiders backfield closely and start White if he is allowed to be the lead back again.

Zamir White May Lead Backfield In Week 17

Las Vegas Raiders running back Zamir White was the starter for the team again in Week 16. White had 22 carries for 145 yards in the matchup. The Raiders running back failed to bring in his only target of the game, but he was productive with his touches on the ground. White was pivotal in the Raiders sealing the win against the Kansas City Chiefs last week. With Josh Jacobs sidelined, White has been very productive as the Raiders starting running back. The Raiders take on the Indianapolis Colts in Week 17. The Colts are among the most advantageous matchups for running backs, so White could be in for a big game if Jacobs misses. Jacobs was officially listed as doubtful after not practicing all week, so all signs point to White being the starter again. Fantasy managers should prepare to head into championship week with White as a starter on their team.

Zamir White Dominates In Week 16

Las Vegas Raiders running back Zamir White had 22 carries for 145 yards in the win against the Kansas City Chiefs on Monday. White once again stepped into the Josh Jacobs role and was productive. The Raiders offense could not get much done through the air but the defense and run game won this contest. After dropping 63 points on the Chargers, the Raiders followed up with 20 against the Chiefs, including two defensive scores. The Raiders take on the Indianapolis Colts in Week 17. The Colts rank 30th in fantasy points allowed to running backs, so it will be a juicy matchup for whoever starts at running back for the Raiders next week. By all accounts, Jacobs was nearing a return this week, so there is optimism he will be available for the Raiders next game. White is a crucial handcuff option for fantasy managers to hold in case Jacobs cannot play next week.

Zamir White To Start Today, A Viable RB2 Option for Week 16

It was reported today by Tom Pelissero from NFL Network that Las Vegas Raiders running back Josh Jacobs (quad/illness) will not be able to play this week against the Kansas City Chiefs. With Jacobs not able to suit up in Week 16, Zamir White will once again function as the lead running back for the Raiders with Ameer Abdullah in the mix as well. Last week against the Chargers with Jacobs out, White had a strong game racking up 17 carries for 69 yards and a touchdown -- while also grabbing three catches on four targets for 16 yards -- good for a total of 17.9 fantasy points in PPR leagues. For fantasy managers with an open roster spot still available, or for those setting DFS lineups today, White should be considered a solid RB2/FLEX option with upside.

Zamir White May Head Back To The Bench

Las Vegas Raiders running back Zamir White was the starter for the team in Week 15. White and the Raiders dropped 63 points in their Thursday night matchup against the Los Angeles Chargers. White had 17 carries for 69 yards and a touchdown in the matchup. The Raiders running back also brought in three of his four targets for 16 receiving yards last week. With the Raiders starting running back, Josh Jacobs, trending towards a return in Week 16, White could be relegated to his backup role this week. The Raiders take on the Kansas City Chiefs on Monday. The Chiefs are not a bad matchup for running backs, so White could be a decent play if Jacobs does miss the game. Fantasy managers should hold onto White as an insurance policy because he is the clear backup to a running back with a massive workload.

Zamir White Scores In Week 15 Win

Las Vegas Raiders running back Zamir White had 17 carries for 69 yards and a touchdown in the win against the Los Angeles Chargers on Thursday night. White also caught three passes for 16 yards in the contest. White stepped into the Josh Jacobs role and handled the majority of touches out of the backfield. The Raiders offense looked unstoppable tonight and White was a beneficiary of that. The Las Vegas offense dropped 63 points on the Chargers, with most of the damage coming in the first half of the game. The Raiders take on the Kansas City Chiefs on Monday night in Week 16. The Chiefs defense is no easy matchup, but the lead back for the Raiders is a valuable role for fantasy. Jacobs will have a long week to recover, but White will be a viable option for fantasy managers in Week 16 if he cannot go.

Dec 15, 2023 6:00 AM EST

Zamir White May Lead Backfield In Week 15

Las Vegas Raiders running back Zamir White has been uninvolved in the Raider offense for much of the season, with starter Josh Jacobs carrying an enormous workload, but that could change in Week 15. Jacobs left last week's game early with a knee injury, which has prevented him from practicing this week. The Raiders play on Thursday night against the Los Angeles Chargers this week. Given the short turnaround time and lack of practice, it seems unlikely that Jacobs will suit up for Thursday's contest. In the absence of Jacobs, White should step into the RB1 role. White will likely handle the bulk of the carries, while Ameer Abdullah should mix in for passing downs and two-minute drills. The Chargers defense is not the easy matchup it once was for running backs. Still, given the uncertainty surrounding the Chargers offense, White could be an intriguing option for bold fantasy managers this week.

Zamir White Looking To Get More Involved

Las Vegas Raiders running back Zamir White had four opportunities for nine yards in the Week 6 win against the New England Patriots. White carried the ball for two rushing yards. The Raiders second-year running back also reeled in both his targets for seven yards, a 6% target share. White had an increased role after not getting a single offensive snap in Week 5. The Raiders take on the Chicago Bears in Week 7. The Bears are one of the most favorable matchups for running backs. Despite the matchup, White is not nearly involved enough to make a difference in fantasy. Fantasy managers can leave White on their waiver wires or stash him on their bench as an insurance back for Josh Jacobs, who has one of the most robust workloads in the league.

Zamir White Looking To Get Involved In The Offense

Las Vegas Raiders running back Zamir White was held without a single snap in Monday's contest against the Green Bay Packers. White has seen minimal usage throughout the season but had zero touches for the second time. Raiders starting running back Josh Jacobs continues to dominate the backfield carries and targets coming off a season where he led the league in rushing. The Raiders paid Jacobs, and they intend to use him as much as possible. White has totaled 39 yards on eight carries through five games this season. Fantasy managers can leave White on their waiver wires or stash him on their bench as an insurance back ahead of the Raiders Week 6 matchup with the New England Patriots.

Zamir White Continues To Be A Non-Factor

Las Vegas Raiders running back Zamir White has been uninvolved with the offense over the past four games. In Week 4 against the Los Angeles Chargers, White had three carries for 15 yards and no targets. White is the backup to the Raiders workhorse, Josh Jacobs, which has led to minimal opportunities and production. Through four weeks, White has totaled eight carries for 39 yards, a lost fumble, and one reception for five yards. White is a nonfactor in fantasy and should continue to be insignificant to the offense regardless of the matchup as long as Jacobs remains healthy. Fantasy managers can leave White on their waiver wires or stash him on their bench as an insurance back ahead of the Raiders' Week 5 matchup with the Green Bay Packers.

Zamir White Continues To See Minimal Usage

Las Vegas Raiders running back Zamir White has been virtually non-existent for the Raiders over the past three games. White is the backup to the Raiders workhorse, Josh Jacobs, which has led to minimal opportunities and production. Through three weeks, White has totaled five carries for 24 yards, a lost fumble, and one reception for five yards. Six opportunities for 29 total yards and zero touchdowns in three games is minimal usage. White is a nonfactor in fantasy and should continue to be insignificant to the offense regardless of the matchup as long as Jacobs remains healthy. Fantasy managers can leave White on their waiver wires or stash him on the bench as an insurance back.

Zamir White Gets Three Yards On Three Carries

Las Vegas Raiders running back Zamir White started and played the full first quarter in the Raiders' 31-16 preseason loss to the Cowboys on Saturday night. White didn't do much, taking four touches seven total yards. With RB Josh Jacobs signing a one-year extension with the Raiders, White's usage on Saturday indicates he is second in line for carries this season, making the 2022 fourth-round pick a sleeper flex option in later rounds of fantasy drafts.
