The two QBs in town for this year are Jimmy Garappolo and Trey Lance. While the former is expected to get the start Week 1, it’s the latter who is making waves. Over the past few weeks, Trey Lance’s has gone from being the QB18 in drafts to the QB15, with a current ADP of 11.04. The preseason games have made fantasy managers want to take a chance on him in the double-digit rounds and he still sits outside of QB1 territory in a 12-team league. You can safely select him as your QB2 if your starter has question marks or an early bye week, as Garappolo should do enough to get him the start in Week 2 after playing the Lions in the season opener. Unfortunately, Trey Lance’s NFL debut may have to wait a few weeks. If you don’t draft Lance, you’ll want to pick him up off waivers a week or two early - if Jimmy G has a bad game or is flat out benched as early as the Monday after their game, Lance is going to be the #1 waiver wire target that week and everyone will be dishing out their FAAB to acquire him.
