Aaron Rodgers Dealing With a Wrist Fracture, Pushing to Play Sunday

Monday, November 17, 9:18 AM

NFL insider Ian Rapoport mentioned on Good Morning Football that Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Aaron Rodgers (wrist) is dealing with a fracture in his left wrist, but has not been ruled out for Sunday and is pushing to play. Rodgers missed the entire second half of Sunday's game with the injury, and backup quarterback Mason Rudolph played great, completing 12 of 16 passes for 116 yards and a touchdown. If Rodgers were to miss time, Rudolph, who does have 32 career NFL games under his belt, is a solid backup quarterback who can certainly keep the Steelers afloat. Through 11 weeks of the season, Rodgers has thrown for 1,969 yards, 17 touchdowns, and seven interceptions, and has been a fantasy streamer quarterback at best at this point in his career. The Steelers face the Chicago Bears in Week 12, who allow the third most points to the quarterback position in fantasy football, making Rudolph a solid QB2 streamer if Rodgers doesn't go.

Andy Dalton Active, Serving as Backup in Week 9

Sunday, November 2, 11:49 AM

Carolina Panthers veteran quarterback Andy Dalton (thumb) is active for the Week 9 contest against the Green Bay Packers on Sunday and will serve as the backup to Bryce Young, who is returning from a one-game absence due to an ankle sprain, according to Mike Kaye of The Charlotte Observer. The 38-year-old Dalton made his first start of the year in place of the injured Young last weekend and fell flat in the blowout loss to the Buffalo Bills, going 16-for-24 passing for 175 yards, no touchdowns, and one interception. The Red Rifle sustained a broken right thumb in the process, which limited him in practice this week. Dalton is apparently good to go as the backup this weekend, though, so third-stringer Mike White will be a healthy scratch.
