Bryce Young Totals 163 Yards and A Touchdown In Week 15

Monday, December 15, 1:11 PM

Bryce Young completed 15-of-24 attempts for 163 yards and a touchdown in the Carolina Panthers' 20-17 loss to the Saints in Week 15. The Carolina QB also added a season-high 49 rushing yards on seven carries, totaling 15.4 Fantasy points. In 13 games played this season, Young has averaged 14.2 Fantasy Points Per Game. He has also registered more than 15 fantasy points in three of his last four starts. In Week 16, the Panthers will go up against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. In the four weeks leading up to Week 15, the Buccaneers ranked last in the league in Fantasy Points Per Game allowed to QBs. Tampa Bay's pass defense also surrendered the second-most passing touchdowns against opposing QBs during that span (eight). Although his fantasy totals for the year have been mediocre, this matchup makes Young a more favorable starter in superflex leagues for Week 16. Those who are desperate in one-QB leagues can also consider streaming Young.

Eagles Sign Ian Book To Practice Squad

Thursday, December 26, 12:07 PM

The Philadelphia Eagles signed free-agent quarterback Ian Book to their practice squad on Thursday after he visited with the team on Wednesday, according to sources. Jalen Hurts (concussion) was listed as a DNP on Wednesday's estimated practice report, while backup Kenny Pickett (ribs) was limited. With Philly's QB room banged up heading into their Week 17 tilt versus the division-rival Dallas Cowboys on Sunday, the Eagles now have extra QB insurance with Tanner McKee and Book. Fantasy managers that have been riding Hurts all year should be a bit worried that he won't be cleared to play this weekend. You should have a backup plan in place in case Hurts doesn't gain clearance from an independent neurologist later this week. If anyone but Hurts is under center on Sunday leading the Eagles' offense, it will be bad news for running back Saquon Barkley and receivers A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith.
