Christian McCaffrey Seeking Fourth Straight RB1 Finish

Saturday, September 27, 4:34 AM

San Francisco 49ers running back Christian McCaffrey has started the season with three straight RB1 performances, be it standard, half-PPR scoring, or full-PPR scoring. Narrowed down to full-PPR, he has finished in the top five among running backs in each of the first three weeks of 2025. McCaffrey is poised to continue the streak on Sunday when he squares off against the Jacksonville Jaguars. The Jags have been successful at limiting the productivity of opposing backs, but McCaffrey is as matchup-proof as they come. The team's reliance on him will be heightened with wide receivers Jauan Jennings (ankle/shoulder) and Ricky Pearsall (knee) both questionable for the game. Through three weeks, McCaffrey has 52 carries for 176 rushing yards, and his team-leading 25 receptions rank fourth-most in the league. McCaffrey should be locked into starting lineups for Week 4.

Patrick Mahomes Removed From Injury Report, Ready For AFC Showdown

Friday, September 26, 10:30 PM

Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes was listed on the injury report with a right wrist injury, but practiced fully all week and was removed from the report ahead of Sunday's matchup against the Baltimore Ravens. Mahomes was listed on last week's injury report with the same wrist issue, but practiced fully and played last week. The Chiefs quarterback completed 22 of his 37 pass attempts (60%) for 224 yards and a touchdown in the team's 22-9 victory over the New York Giants last week. Mahomes had his worst fantasy output of this season in Week 3 despite winning the game by a comfortable margin. The former MVP will get the chance to bounce back this week against another AFC powerhouse in the Ravens. Baltimore has been an advantageous matchup to begin the season, allowing the fifth-most fantasy points to opposing quarterbacks to start the year. The Ravens offense is also first in points per game this season, which makes this matchup a potential shootout. This game has an over/under of 48.5, making it tied for the second-highest total of the week. Mahomes should also benefit from the return of Xavier Worthy after he missed the last few games with a dislocated shoulder. Mahomes is ranked QB7 in our RotoBaller rankings this week, making him a strong start. The stars are aligning for the Chiefs superstar to have a big game, and he is capable of delivering.
