Christian Watson News

Christian Watson Avoids Long-Term Injury, Status for Week 16 Unclear

Monday, December 15, 10:33 AM

ESPN's Rob Demovsky reports that Green Bay Packers wide receiver Christian Watson (chest) "does not have any long-term injury" and that his status for his team's Week 16 matchup against the Chicago Bears will be "determined later in the week." Watson suffered a chest injury that knocked him out of Green Bay's Week 15 loss to the Denver Broncos and required a trip to the hospital following the game. The 26-year-old had been playing some of his best football before suffering the injury. Across four games leading into Week 15, Watson had recorded 17 receptions for 264 receiving yards and five touchdowns on 26 targets. If he misses time, Packers wideouts Romeo Doubs, Jayden Reed, Dontayvion Wicks, and Matthew Golden could all see expanded roles. The Packers play the Bears on Saturday night, so Watson will have one fewer day of recovery time than usual heading into Week 16.

Bryce Oliver News

Bryce Oliver Ends Preseason With 52 Yards, Two Scores

Monday, August 26, 12:07 PM

Tennessee Titans rookie wide receiver Bryce Oliver hauled in three passes for 52 yards and two touchdowns in the last preseason win over New Orleans. It was a mini breakout for the undrafted pass-catcher out of Youngstown State, who was having a quiet game until quarterback Malik Willis started looking his way in the fourth quarter, which led to two scores, along with the game-winner with 1:25 remaining. Oliver was not expected to compete for an active roster spot, but this performance definitely gives general manager Ran Carthon something to think about. Even so, with Calvin Ridley, DeAndre Hopkins, Treylon Burks, Tyler Boyd, Kyle Philips, and Nick Westbrook-Ikhine having locked up roster spots at WR, it's tough to see a situation in which Oliver ends up on the active 53-man roster for the Titans. He is nowhere near any fantasy radar heading into the 2024-25 season.
