The Arizona Cardinals released veteran quarterback Colt McCoy on Monday. McCoy has been getting reps with the first-team offense during the preseason but looks to be the odd man out after the team traded for Joshua Dobbs. The 36-year-old started 36 games and appeared in 56 games over the last 13 seasons, passing for 7,975 yards, 34 touchdowns, and 32 interceptions. He could have some interest from other organizations. After his release, Dobbs and rookie quarterback Clayton Tune will seemingly compete to be the team's Week 1 starter against the Washington Commanders. Both will have low ceilings in a mediocre Cardinals' offense. Kyler Murray (PUP) will miss at least the first four games of 2023.

New Orleans Saints quarterback Derek Carr (shoulder) wants to play in Week 4 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, but it's likely going to come down to a game-time decision on Sunday, according to a source. He's likely 50-50 at this point. NewOrleans.Football's Nick Underhill points out that the Saints are already down an offensive lineman, so they need to be smart if Carr is banged up. The 32-year-old suffered an AC joint sprain in his right shoulder in the Week 3 loss to the Green Bay Packers, but he practiced on Friday and looked pretty good. The good news is fantasy managers will know on Sunday morning whether Carr will be active. If the Saints play it safe and hold him out, backup Jameis Winston will make his first start of 2023. Carr will be a QB2 in fantasy if he suits up.
