Courtland Sutton Should Remain on the Bench in Week 2

Friday, September 18, 5:52 PM

Following a slow start for the Denver Broncos' offense as a whole during a Week 1 defeat at the hands of the Kansas City Chiefs, wide receiver Courtland Sutton is RotoBaller's 44th-ranked wide receiver entering Week 2. Sutton recorded just two receptions for 11 yards this past week during a loss to the Chiefs and is unlikely to fare much better against the Jacksonville Jaguars' defense this week. Jacksonville allowed the fourth-lowest EPA/pass play (-0.45) in Week 1, according to Next Gen Stats, and is poised to shut down a Denver passing game that struggled mightily against the Chiefs. Bo Nix averaged just 4.7 yards per completion against Kansas City, and don't expect much more from him this week. Fantasy managers should keep Sutton on the bench for the foreseeable future, at least until Denver can turn things around offensively.

Brian Robinson News

Brian Robinson Jr. a Risky Flex Option Despite Favorable Matchup

Saturday, September 19, 7:05 AM

Atlanta Falcons running back Brian Robinson Jr. chipped in nine carries for 31 yards in Week 1's loss to the Steelers and was not targeted in the pass game. That type of single-digit carry production is likely the production that managers will get out of the former third-rounder when games are competitive, and this week's matchup against the Panthers looks like it could be another tightly contested one. It is an enticing matchup, though, one that saw two Bears running backs go over 100 yards rushing last week and score four touchdowns, but the Atlanta offense under Cooper Rush is not the Chicago offense under Caleb Williams. The mouthwatering matchup perhaps gives the 27-year-old a slight boost in his ranking this week, but he still projects as just a FLEX/RB5 at RotoBaller or a risky lottery ticket GPP play in DFS. Even so, he remains one of the top handcuffs in the event anything were to happen to Bijan Robinson.
