Dak Prescott News
Sunday, September 13, 8:10 PM
Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott had an ugly night in the Cowboys season opener against the New York Giants. He wasn't able to muster up 200 passing yards, and threw an interception while being held scoreless in the first half of play. New York dominated time of possession, which limited Prescott to just 34 pass attempts. He completed only 22 for a paltry 5.1 yards per pass attempt. The abysmal average led Dallas to only muster 244 yards of offense, 150 less than their opponent. Two carries for 14 yards on the ground weren't enough to make up for his low passing production. It was a strangely terrible night for the offense, which did extremely well last year under then first-year head coach Brian Schottenheimer. Perhaps that offense has been solved. We'll learn more to that effect in Week 2, when the Cowboys return home to face another bitter divisional rival, the Washington Commanders.

Kyler Murray News
Sunday, September 13, 1:22 PM
Minnesota Vikings quarterback Kyler Murray (head) has been ruled out for the remainder of Sunday's Week 1 contest against the Green Bay Packers. Murray initially exited in the first quarter, entered concussion protocol, and was listed as questionable. The fact that he was downgraded to out doesn't necessarily mean that he has been diagnosed with a concussion, but at the very least, he remains in protocol and won't be able to return. The veteran quarterback, playing in his first game as a Viking, was on the receiving end of an ugly hit from Packers safety Javon Bullard. The hit caused the quarterback's helmet to come off, drew a 15-yard unnecessary roughness penalty, and required Murray to receive medical attention on the field. He finishes his Vikings debut 3-for-5 passing with 18 passing yards, zero touchdowns, and one interception. Carson Wentz will operate as the Vikings' quarterback for the remainder of Week 1. If Wentz suffers an injury, the emergency third quarterback would be J.J. McCarthy.
