Raiders Release Damien Williams

Tuesday, August 29, 8:27 PM

The Las Vegas Raiders released running back Damien Williams on Tuesday now that Josh Jacobs is back with the team and signed for 2023, according to a source. Behind last year's rushing leader in Jacobs, the Raiders are going to enter Week 1 against the division-rival Denver Broncos with Zamir White, Ameer Abdullah and Brandon Bolden in their running back room. The 31-year-old Williams only saw two carries in one game with the Atlanta Falcons last year, giving him 42 rushing attempts for 166 yards and two touchdowns in the last two years in Atlanta and Chicago. Williams' best season came in 2019 with the Kansas City Chiefs, when he had a career-high 498 rushing yards and five touchdowns on 111 carries over 11 regular season games (six starts).

Ronald Jones II News

Cowboys Release Ronald Jones Monday

Monday, September 18, 7:43 PM

The Dallas Cowboys released running back Ronald Jones on Monday, the team announced. Jones was eligible to return to the active 53-man roster on Monday after serving a two-game suspension for violating the league's performance-enhancing drug policy, but the Cowboys have opted to go in another direction. The 26-year-old will now be hoping to latch on with another organization to provide some backfield depth. Tony Pollard is the team's clear-cut starter, with Rico Dowdle and rookies Deuce Vaughn and Hunter Luepke backing him up in the running back room. Jones shouldn't be rostered in single-year fantasy leagues right now.
