De'Von Achane News
Sunday, August 30, 8:32 PM
Miami Dolphins running back De'Von Achane should be the primary playmaker on offense this season. Miami parted ways with Tyreek Hill, Jaylen Waddle, and Tua Tagovailoa during the offseason, leaving Achane as the only returner from an offense that has featured some star power in recent years, despite underperforming. Miami also ushered in this fresh start with a new head coach, new general manager, and new quarterback. The new signal-caller for Miami is Malik Willis, who has a fair arm but makes a much bigger impact with his ability to run the football. The Dolphins have a pretty weak receiver room, so we expect them to emphasize running the football with Willis and Achane this year. Head coach Jeff Hafley previously said that Achane could get 40+ touches in a game this year, and while that comment was clearly an exaggeration, it's also evident that the Dolphins aren't going to place any restrictions on his workload. We do envision him consistently getting at least 20-25 touches per game, and given his speed and receiving upside, he should emerge as one of the lone bright spots in this otherwise underwhelming Miami offense. Touchdowns may be harder to come by in Miami this season, but we're still banking on Achane as a mid-range RB1 option in redraft leagues.

Cam Skattebo News
Saturday, August 29, 5:59 PM
New York Giants running back Cam Skattebo should open the 2026 season as the top option on the depth chart, and although the team has a very crowded backfield, the second-year ball-carrier should continue to produce in fantasy football. Skattebo was the overall RB7 from Weeks 2-8 last year before suffering multiple leg injuries, including a dislocated ankle. He's healthy now, but managers have grown concerned about the number of veteran running backs that surround him in the backfield. New York entered this year with Tyrone Tracy Jr. and Devin Singletary, and they also recently added Najee Harris. Tracy could carve out some standalone fantasy value, but for the most part, we don't expect these ball-carriers to negatively impact Skattebo's outlook. In fact, having more depth could actually be helpful for Skattebo, as sharing some of the workload will allow him to stay fresh while he (theoretically) still gets on the field for the highest-leverage rushing attempts. Skattebo has an ADP of 42.9 and currently ranks as the RB22 in RotoBaller's latest redraft rankings for 2026.
