DeVonta Smith Breaks Free for 114 Yards in Week 5 Loss

Monday, October 6, 1:05 AM

Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver DeVonta Smith caught eight of his 10 targets for 114 yards during Sunday's Week 5 loss against the Denver Broncos. After a frustrating Week 4 in which Smith caught just two passes and was subsequently reported to be "frustrated" within the offense, the talented receiver bounced back in a huge way. The 26-year-old was able to impress despite the Eagles' passing game struggles and despite an unfavorable matchup against a strong Broncos defense. If Smith was able to thrive in this week's situation, he should have no trouble producing next week against the New York Giants. He's a low-end WR2 in fantasy football ahead of Week 6.

Xavier Worthy News

Xavier Worthy is Fine and Expected to Play Against the Jaguars

Monday, October 6, 9:30 AM

Kansas City Chiefs second-year receiver out of Texas, Xavier Worthy (ankle/shoulder), turned his ankle in practice over the weekend, and according to NFL Insider Ian Rapoport, he is fine and is expected to play, as the reports from Sunday were more precautionary than anything else. Worthy missed two games with a shoulder injury and returned in Week 4, where he delivered 14.60 fantasy points on five catches for 83 yards in his return, having only played 59 percent of the snaps. As Worthy continues to ramp up while playing with a shoulder brace on, fantasy managers can fire him up as a WR3/flex option for the time being until we see his snap count increase. Worthy has the upside to work his way into WR2 territory, but for the time being, we need to see his snap count rise before that is the case.
