San Francisco 49ers tight end George Kittle had a modest day in the team's 31-13 win over the Seahawks in Seattle on Thanksgiving night. He posted 19 yards on three catches of five targets. The ultimate boom/bust player at the ultimate boom/bust position now has scored fewer than five fantasy points on five occasions this season but has exceeded 18 points four times, both in half-PPR scoring. Kittle managers know by now that the occasional dud -- thanks to the 49ers' plethora of weapons -- is the price to pay for his upside. On a few extra days' rest, the gregarious 30-year-old will no doubt be energized for a blockbuster matchup next Sunday in Philadelphia versus a struggling Eagles pass defense.

Atlanta Falcons head coach Arthur Smith said that Kyle Pitts is "a big part of the offense" going forward. That's news to us, as Pitts continues to be a first-round bust in real life and in fantasy in 2023. The 23-year-old former fourth overall pick in 2021 has caught more than five passes in a game just once this year, has only one touchdown (in Week 6) and has gone over 50 receiving yards just twice. In the last five games, Pitts has 15 receptions on 22 targets for 190 yards and no scores. Perhaps Atlanta looks to get him more involved down the stretch in certain matchups, but it's become clear that he's become more of a high-end TE2 in fantasy in the Falcons' run-first, ball-control offense. The Falcons figure to stick to the ground more often than not in a tough Week 13 matchup on the road against the New York Jets, too.
Still trying to decide between Kittle and Pitts? Check on the latest news to make sure both players are active and healthy. Our PPR projections show that George Kittle is projected to score 13.4 points this week while Kyle Pitts is projected to score 11.4 points.
