Graham Gano Likely Out For The Season

Monday, November 6, 8:01 PM

New York Giants kicker Graham Gano (knee) needs surgery for a left-knee injury and is likely out for the rest of the season. The Giants officially placed him on Injured Reserve on Saturday. Veteran Randy Bullock was signed and eventually elevated to the active roster, but he didn't have a single kicking opportunity in the 30-6 Week 9 loss to the Las Vegas Raiders. The G-Men also added Cade York last week, but he was inactive on Sunday. In eight games for the Giants this year before his knee injury, the 36-year-old Gano made 11 of his 17 field-goal attempts and made all eight of his extra-point tries. Bullock and York could continue to compete for the starting kicking job on game days on Sundays, but fantasy managers should avoid the situation entirely.

Giants Bring In Another Kicker In Cade York

Friday, November 3, 12:06 PM

The New York Giants are signing kicker Cade York off the Tennessee Titans practice squad on Friday. Head coach Brian Daboll said on Thursday that Graham Gano (knee) will be placed on Injured Reserve, and the G-Men also signed veteran kicker Randy Bullock on Thursday. Bullock and York will now compete for the starting kicking gig the next few days before the Giants face off against the Las Vegas Raiders in Week 9 on Sunday. The 22-year-old York played in 17 games for the Cleveland Browns in his rookie season in 2022 and went 24-for-32 (75 percent) on field-goal tries while missing two of his 37 extra-point opportunities for the Browns. Bullock, 33, has more experience with 10 years in the NFL, and he's made 95.6 percent of his kicks in his career. Whoever the Giants go with should be avoided for fantasy purposes this week.
