Hollywood Brown's Fantasy Stock Takes a Hit

Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver Hollywood Brown was active for the season opener and never got on the field. DeVonta Smith played 52 offensive snaps, Dontayvion Wicks 50, rookie Makai Lemon 35, and Darius Cooper eight. Brown played zero. Nick Sirianni said afterward that Philadelphia wants to get him involved and that the receiver rotation simply never got there in Week 1. Brown said he was surprised and hadn't been told beforehand that he wouldn't play. That makes this more than an empty box score. Whatever the exact plan was, four Eagles wide receivers saw the field before Brown did. Sirianni's comments leave room for that to change quickly, but there is no way around what Week 1 showed. Brown needs snaps before targets can even become part of the fantasy discussion. For now, going from a potential complementary piece to no offensive role at all is a major hit to his stock.

Konata Mumpfield a Deep-League Dart Throw for Week 3

Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Konata Mumpfield should take on a sizable snap share against the Denver Broncos in Week 3, but he's not a lock to get onto the fantasy radar. Mumpfield played 69% of the snaps with Puka Nacua (hip) sidelined last week, catching just one pass for 12 yards. Nacua is expected to miss his second game in a row on Sunday, leaving Mumpfield installed as the de facto No. 2 receiver. However, it remains to be seen if that will lead to meaningful fantasy production, especially since Matthew Stafford has shown a strong preference for throwing to wide receiver Davante Adams and tight end Terrance Ferguson. The projected high snap share could make Mumpfield an intriguing option in extremely deep leagues, but otherwise, he's probably worth avoiding this week.
