Indianapolis Colts backup running back Tyler Goodson did not receive a single carry in Sunday's 30-20 loss to the Bills, but found the end zone through the air on one of his two catches for a total of nine yards. It certainly perturbed Jonathan Taylor managers, as Taylor was one of the lone bright spots on offense for most of the day for the Colts, but alas, it was Goodson who found paydirt. Nevertheless, without an injury to Jonathan Taylor, the 23-year-old is not usable in most fantasy formats, especially not in Week 11 against a strong Jets run defense. The second-year pro did a decent job filling in for Taylor in Week 7 with 14 rushes for 51 yards and a score, so he could be considered a low-end handcuff.

Indianapolis Colts running back Tyler Goodson ran the ball 14 times for 51 yards and a touchdown in the team's 16-10 win over the Miami Dolphins. Goodson out-touched running back Trey Sermon for the first time since Jonathan Taylor (ankle) has been out, seeing 14 carries to Sermon's eight. Goodson was productive, breaking away multiple chunk runs that eventually led to a first-half touchdown. If Taylor is out again in Week 8 against the Houston Texans, fantasy managers can look to Goodson as a viable RB2 option, given his increased workload.

Indianapolis Colts running back Tyler Goodson saw eight carries for 51 yards in the team's Week 6 loss to the Tennessee Titans. He also caught four of his five targets for 14 yards through the air. Goodson has seen a huge influx of opportunities in Jonathan Taylor's (ankle) absence but has played a secondary role to running back Trey Sermon during that span. Despite being out-touched by Sermon, Goodson has been the much more efficient back, averaging 5.9 yards per carry over the last two games. Goodson may see an increased role given his recent success, but the split with Sermon heavily limits his ceiling. Both backs will have a favorable matchup against Miami's defense allowing the third most fantasy points to opposing running backs. Goodson can be viewed as an RB3 in Sunday's matchup.

Indianapolis Colts running back Tyler Goodson carried the ball eight times for 51 yards in the team's 20-17 win over the Tennessee Titans. He also caught four of his five targets for another 14 yards through the air. Goodson once again played a secondary role to running back Trey Sermon, getting out-carried 18-to-eight. That being said, Goodson was the much more efficient and productive back in the matchup and was the only back to see any work in the receiving game. Goodson could make for a decent start in Week 7 against the Miami Dolphins if Jonathan Taylor (ankle) is inactive, but likely won't see much action if Taylor is a go.

Indianapolis Colts running back Tyler Goodson ran the ball five times for 26 yards in Week 5, also grabbing three targets for 31 yards through the air. Goodson was involved in the absence of Jonathan Taylor (ankle) but played a secondary role to RB Trey Sermon in last week's loss. With Taylor out again in Week 6, Goodson will remain involved in the backfield once again. He is in for a tougher matchup, facing a Titans defense that has allowed the 11th-fewest fantasy points to opposing RBs this season. While Goodson may see an increase in volume after a nice showing last week, it's too much of a speculation to start him with confidence in most formats. He is currently the RB48 in this week's staff's half-PPR rankings.

Indianapolis Colts running back Tyler Goodson is expected to see more involvement during Sunday's game against the Jacksonville Jaguars. The Colts are going to be without Jonathan Taylor (ankle) for at least one game. Head coach Shane Steichen said that the team plans to use a committee approach at running back. Trey Sermon figures to lead the charge with Goodson and Evan Hull being mixed in behind him. Goodson hasn't seen much of the field this season, but could serve as change-of-pace option or receiving back for Week 5. The Colts could use a run-heavy approach with quarterback Anthony Richardson (oblique) considered doubtful. Goodson should find a way to get involved, but remains a desperation option in deep leagues.

Indianapolis Colts running back Tyler Goodson ran the ball 13 times for 57 yards in the team's preseason win against the Bengals, leading the team in both categories. Goodson also caught two of his three targets for an additional ten yards in the air. For the third preseason game in a row, Goodson has come in as the second running back behind Jonathan Taylor and has seen impressive production in each game. While Trey Sermon (hamstring) is sidelined, Goodson appears to have locked up the RB2 role behind Taylor, making him a name to keep an eye on as a potential handcuff this season. Fantasy managers should continue to monitor this backfield as Goodson vies for the RB2 spot.

Indianapolis Colts running back Tyler Goodson ran the ball six times for 35 yards and a touchdown in the team's win against the Cardinals on Saturday. Goodson has now scored in both the Colts' preseason games and played as the RB2 behind Jonathan Taylor in both games. With Trey Sermon's (hamstring) injury keeping him off the field, Goodson is looking to lock up the RB2 role behind Taylor. Depending on Sermon's injury status, Goodson does provide fantasy relevancy as the potential handcuff to Taylor this season.

Indianapolis Colts running back Tyler Goodson ran the ball seven times for 15 yards and scored a touchdown in the team's preseason loss against the Denver Broncos. Goodson also caught both of his targets for just one extra yard through the air. Goodson was featured early in the game, seeing touches directly after the Colts' starters played the opening drive. With Trey Sermon suffering an injury in today's game. Goodson will continue to compete for the RB2 role, as he's currently slated to be the RB3 in Indy's offense. Depending on the severity of Sermon's injury, Goodson could have some fantasy relevancy as Jonathan Taylor's handcuff but would be largely off the radar otherwise.

With Indianapolis Colts running back Jonathan Taylor taking a personal day at organized team activities on Thursday, it allowed for more running back reps for Trey Sermon, Tyler Goodson and Evan Hull. Both Sermon and Goodson broke off a couple big runs. Behind Taylor this year, the backup RB roles and reps are very much in the air among Sermon, Goodson and Hull now that Zack Moss is in Cincinnati. The 23-year-old Goodson is probably considered the biggest long shot to earn the No. 2 role this year behind Taylor, but the fact that he's being given reps with the first-team offense in OTAs means he has an early shot. The former undrafted free agent out of Iowa saw his first 13 carries in six games (one start) last year and gained 87 yards on the ground. He also added six receptions for an additional 34 yards.

The Indianapolis Colts signed running back Tyler Goodson from their practice squad to the active 53-man roster on Tuesday. The team also added defensive end Zach McCloud and wide receivers Jaydon Mickens and Juwann Winfree to their practice squad while letting offensive guard Lewis Kidd go from the practice squad. The Colts RB depth chart has thinned out entering a Week 16 tilt against the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday with both Zack Moss (shoulder) and Jonathan Taylor (thumb) up in the air to play. Moss was injured in Saturday's win over the Pittsburgh Steelers, while Taylor has missed the last three games following thumb surgery. If neither Moss nor Taylor can play this weekend, expect the Colts to use a combination of Goodson and Trey Sermon out of their backfield against the Falcons.
