Who Should I Start? Javonte Williams or James Cook

Dallas Cowboys running back Javonte Williams has been phenomenal this season and continues to deliver consistent fantasy production. While he was held in check on the ground last week against the Denver Broncos, rushing for just 41 yards on 3.2 yards per carry, he still found the end zone twice and salvaged a strong fantasy outing. Williams has shown impressive consistency near the goal line and remains a key part of the Cowboys' offensive success. Williams draws a great matchup in Week 9 against the Arizona Cardinals, who have struggled to stop opposing running backs, allowing seven rushing touchdowns through eight weeks. With this game carrying one of the highest projected totals of the week at 54.5 points, Williams should have plenty of scoring opportunities once again. Buffalo Bills running back James Cook has been removed from the injury report and will play Sunday against the Miami Dolphins, presumably without any limitations. This is great news for Cook and his fantasy managers, as a matchup against the Dolphins provides an enormous opportunity for the 26-year-old to rack up fantasy points. Miami has been miserable against the run this year, surrendering the third-most rushing yards and fifth-most fantasy points to opposing running backs in 2025. Cook is the overall RB7 in PPR leagues so far with 867 rushing yards, 100 receiving yards, and seven touchdowns. In his last outing against Miami, he accrued 118 scrimmage yards and one touchdown. Fantasy managers should have full confidence deploying Cook as a mid-to-high RB1 this week.
