Josh Reynolds News

Josh Reynolds a Risky Option Vs. Cowboys

Saturday, October 4, 1:56 PM

New York Jets wide receiver Josh Reynolds won't be a recommended option this weekend when he lines up against the visiting Dallas Cowboys. When healthy, the veteran is New York's clear-cut WR2 behind running mate Garrett Wilson, playing the second-most snaps of all wideouts in both games he's started. However, Reynolds has accrued only five targets in his two appearances, pulling in two for a total of 18 yards, and none in their loss to the Dolphins in Week 4. There are targets to go around in the Jets' offense, but the emergence of rookie tight end Mason Taylor and running back Breece Hall's ability as a receiver have all but rendered the 30-year-old useless for fantasy. He'll likely pick up more work as he's further removed from his recent hamstring injury, and may eventually have a few useful weeks. That said, they could be few and far between, and exceedingly difficult to predict. Reynolds is RotoBaller's PPR WR102 for this weekend's slate of action.

Jaylin Lane News

Jaylin Lane Headed for Increased Involvement Once Again

Saturday, October 4, 9:18 AM

Washington Commanders wide receiver Jaylin Lane should continue to occupy a larger role against the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 5. Teammates Terry McLaurin (quadriceps) and Noah Brown (groin) remain sidelined for Sunday's game, leaving Lane in line to handle the No. 3 receiver role behind Deebo Samuel Sr. and Chris Moore. In the same role last week, Lane caught two of three targets for 18 yards on a 44 percent snap share. He also fumbled twice, but both loose footballs were recovered by Washington. While Lane appears third in the pecking order behind Samuel and Moore, he'll also have to compete with Zach Ertz, the overall TE11 in PPR leagues, and Luke McCaffrey, the young receiver who has scored a touchdown in each of his last two games. Coming off a contest with a sub-50 percent snap share in an offense where targets remain relatively hard to come by, Lane is nothing more than a low-end WR4 in deeper leagues. He can be benched or left on waivers in most formats.
