Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Marcus Mariota was brought in this offseason to be the backup to Jalen Hurts this upcoming season. However, the 29-year-old might've played his way off the 53-man roster, according to Mike Garafolo. Rookie quarterback Tanner McKee has exceeded expectations and earned praise from the coaching staff. On Thursday, McKee completed 19-of-34 passing attempts for 158 yards during the preseason finale. Honestly, McKee might've done enough to overtake Mariota for the backup gig. The Eagles must decide how much faith they truly have in Mariota to play a role on this team in case Hurts does go down.

New England Patriots quarterback Mac Jones looked horrendous during Sunday's matchup against the Dallas Cowboys. Jones was benched after throwing for 150 yards with two interceptions and a fumble in the blowout loss. There was some speculation that the Patriots would shake up their quarterback situation after this performance. However, head coach Bill Belichick has stated that Jones is the starter going forward and was only benched because the game was out of hand. Jones should be back under center for the Week 5 matchup versus the New Orleans Saints.
