Marquez Valdes-Scantling to Join Steelers' Practice Squad

The Pittsburgh Steelers are planning to sign veteran free-agent wide receiver Marquez Valdes-Scantling to their practice squad. The veteran wideout is expected to begin on the practice squad and work his way onto the active roster. The 32-year-old hasn't done much lately, with 142 total receiving yards over the last two seasons combined. This is noteworthy because Valdes-Scantling and quarterback Aaron Rodgers played together in Green Bay earlier in their careers. They may recreate some of that magic in Pittsburgh. The Steelers are in desperate need of wide receivers right now, so it might not take him too long before he joins the active roster.

Cody White Continues Deep-League Potential vs. Bills

Las Vegas Raiders wide receiver Cody White is emerging within an injury-riddled receiving corps, but is it enough to target him in Week 6 against the Buffalo Bills? Jalen Nailor (concussion) is expected to play on Sunday, and the Raiders' target share already flows mostly through tight end Brock Bowers. With Tre Tucker and pass-catching running back Ashton Jeanty also in the mix, it's unlikely White will produce enough for standard fantasy leagues. Then again, the sixth-year veteran caught two of four targets for 44 yards in last week's 45-17 loss to the New England Patriots, marking his second consecutive game with four targets. Plus, Buffalo's struggling defense is allowing 280.4 passing yards per game and 13 passing touchdowns on the season. White is worth consideration in deep leagues with 14 or more teams.
