Odell Beckham Jr. Consistently Getting Open at Camp

Friday, August 21, 7:34 PM

New York Giants wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. has consistently gotten open during training camp as he fights for a role this season. According to Connor Hughes, Beckham has gotten open even when he hasn't always been targeted. In the joint practice against the Miami Dolphins, he put his matchup in a bind and was open multiple times during the team's first preseason game against the Minnesota Vikings. With veteran JuJu Smith-Schuster released after the addition of running back Najee Harris, Beckham's path to making the 53-man roster is clearing. Given his strong camp performance and standing with the team, the veteran receiver has a solid chance to suit up with the Giants this season.

Justin Watson News

Justin Watson Won't Play Against Patriots

Friday, January 16, 4:23 PM

Houston Texans wide receiver Justin Watson (concussion) didn't practice all week and has officially been ruled out for Sunday's Divisional Round game against the New England Patriots. Watson suffered a concussion in Monday night's Wild-Card win over the Pittsburgh Steelers. If the Texans advance to the AFC Championship next weekend, Watson won't be guaranteed to be ready to return. In addition to Watson being out, the Texans will also be without top receiver Nico Collins, who also suffered a concussion on Monday against the Steelers. Rookie Jayden Higgins and Christian Kirk, who had 144 receiving yards on Monday, should be the team's top two receivers, with rookie Jaylin Noel and Xavier Hutchinson also having elevated roles on offense.
