Tommy DeVito News

Tommy DeVito Becomes QB2 in New England

Monday, March 23, 1:02 PM

The New England Patriots released veteran quarterback Joshua Dobbs on Monday, pushing Tommy DeVito to the backup role behind starter Drake Maye, according to Mike Reiss of ESPN. The Patriots initially didn't tender an offer to DeVito, but they eventually re-signed him to a two-year deal with a base value of $4.4 million. The deal includes incentives that could increase the value of the deal to $7.4 million. Reiss adds that a No. 3 QB is expected to be added later in the offseason, potentially via the NFL draft in April. DeVito, who went undrafted out of Illinois, made his NFL debut in 2023 with the New York Giants and ended up playing in nine games (six starts), completing 64% of his passes for 1,101 yards, eight touchdowns, and three interceptions. The 27-year-old did not appear in a game at all in 2025 while serving as the No. 3 behind Maye and Dobbs. If DeVito is making starts for the Pats in 2026, it will be bad news for the entire offense.

Riley Leonard News

Riley Leonard Competing for the Colts' No. 2 Role

Saturday, June 13, 5:13 AM

Indianapolis Colts quarterback Riley Leonard started the final game of his 2025 rookie campaign, throwing for 270 yards, two touchdowns, and an interception, and he is now battling for the primary backup role behind Daniel Jones, according to Colts Insider Joel A. Erickson. With Jones still recovering from his December Achilles tear and unable to participate in full team drills, Leonard split minicamp reps with 2023 fourth overall pick Anthony Richardson Sr., and their competition for the number two job is expected to carry into training camp. Indianapolis declined Richardson's fifth-year option, putting him on the final season of his rookie contract, so if Leonard can win the job outright, it could be his to hold for the foreseeable future. With the mobility to provide fantasy viability in any spot-start duties, and potentially available on waivers in many leagues, the 2025 sixth-round pick is worthy of back-of-roster consideration in deep dynasty leagues.
