Tony Pollard a Volume-Based Play in Week 1

Saturday, September 6, 9:09 AM

Tennessee Titans running back Tony Pollard opens the 2025 season with a difficult Week 1 matchup against the Denver Broncos. Pollard averaged 67.4 rushing yards per game last season, and he's facing a Broncos defense that allowed the fifth-fewest rushing yards and fourth-fewest rushing touchdowns to opposing running backs last year. While Denver did show some susceptibility against pass-catching backs, Pollard will likely need to touch the ball around 20 times (or score a touchdown) to make him a meaningful fantasy starter. Managers should treat him as an RB3/FLEX option heading into this weekend.

Michael Pittman Jr. Scores Touchdown in Big Season Opener

Sunday, September 7, 9:00 PM

Indianapolis Colts wide receiver Michael Pittman Jr. caught six of eight targets for 80 yards and one touchdown during Sunday's Week 1 win over the Miami Dolphins. Although tight end Tyler Warren led the team in targets and catches, Pittman led the team in receiving yards and was also the only Colt to catch a touchdown pass on Sunday. He was one of several Colts players to exceed their fantasy projections amidst a staggering 33-8 Indianapolis victory. Pittman benefited from playing against a subpar Dolphins defense, and things could get more difficult for him next week against the Denver Broncos. Nevertheless, Pittman's strong start to the season puts him in the low-end WR2 conversation for fantasy football going forward.
