Chiefs Not Looking to Limit Travis Kelce's Snap Count

Thursday, June 19, 6:10 PM

Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid said he's not inclined to limit tight end Travis Kelce's snaps this year or make concessions to his age (35) after he briefly contemplated retirement in the offseason. "I'm not feeling that," Reid said. "It would be similar to last year I would imagine as it goes. So, he's in great shape right now, so I think he's looking forward to getting going." However, Reid said he will continue to monitor Kelce as training camp and the regular season progress and makes changes if necessary. Kelce had the third-highest snap count and ran the fourth-most routes of his career in 2024, which bodes well for him staying heavily involved in the offense in 2025. However, the 10-time Pro Bowler and four-time All-Pro's numbers took another dip (97-823-3 line in 16 regular-season starts), making it clear that his ceiling probably is no longer as an elite, high-end fantasy TE1.

Travis Hunter Stays on Defense on Sunday

Sunday, July 27, 1:06 PM

All of Jacksonville Jaguars two-way rookie Travis Hunter's snaps came on defense at Sunday's training camp practice, according to Michael DiRocco of ESPN. Hunter has 24 snaps in total -- three in 7-on-7 drills and 21 snaps in 11-on-11 (with three pass breakups). The second overall pick in this year's draft made his debut on defense at training camp and should soon mix in on both offense and defense. Once that happens, it will be the norm moving forward for the Heisman Trophy winner, per head coach Liam Coen. The 22-year-old is an elite athlete and will attempt to play both receiver and cornerback for the Jags in his first year in the NFL. He has the opportunity to be the WR2 behind Brian Thomas Jr., but the mystery of how many offensive snaps he will play per week and how effective he'll be as a two-way player makes him a pretty big risk in fantasy in 2025.
