The Miami Dolphins announced on Tuesday that they have signed free-agent kicker Zane Gonzalez to their practice squad. In a corresponding move, the team released Riley Patterson, who served as their starting placekicker for the first five games of the season. Gonzalez is returning to the Dolphins after he was cut on Aug. 19 with an injury settlement after he was placed on Injured Reserve. He is now apparently healthy and ready to take over Miami's kicking job now that Patterson is no longer around. The Dolphins sent Patterson to the free-agent market after he missed two field goals and an extra point in the first five weeks of the season. The 31-year-old Gonzalez, a former seventh-round pick in 2017 from Arizona State, has made 81% of his 142 career field-goal attempts over seven seasons with five different teams. Gonzalez went 19-for-22 (86.4%) on field goals and 17-for-18 on extra-point attempts in nine games for the Atlanta Falcons last year. In Miami's lowly offense, fantasy managers should continue to ignore Gonzalez.

The Tennessee Titans are re-signing kicker Joey Slye to an undisclosed one-year deal on Wednesday, a source told Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network. Slye will return to Nashville after going 28-for-35 on his field-goal attempts (9-for-14 from 50-plus yards) and 26-for-27 on his extra-point opportunities in 16 games last year. The 29-year-old former undrafted free agent out of Virginia Tech was mostly off the fantasy radar in 2025 in an inconsistent Titans offense led by rookie quarterback Cameron Ward. Slye finished as the No. 20 fantasy kicker in terms of overall fantasy points. For his career, Slye has made only 81.4% of his 215 field-goal attempts for six different teams over the course of seven seasons. The Titans' offense could make some improvements in Ward's second season under a new coaching staff, but fantasy managers should have higher-ceiling options to choose from this fall.
