Significant Injuries Put Dynasty Squads on Pause
We knew this would inevitably happen in a year that saw little training camp time and zero preseason games. Saquon Barkley (likely) out for the fantasy season after tearing his ACL; Christian McCaffrey out multiple weeks with an ankle injury; Cam Akers left due to a rib injury and Raheem Mostert injured his knee. Wide receivers that are either banged up or out for the foreseeable future include Davante Adams, Parris Campbell, Courtland Sutton, Sammy Watkins, Will Fuller, and Sterling Shepard. Quarterbacks Jimmy Garappolo and Drew Lock left their respective games early, while Tyrod Taylor couldn’t start the game last-minute after receiving chest pains minutes before the game. In deeper dynasty leagues several of these players could be starters on your team and this is why depth should be a priority. If your fantasy squad managed to miss all of the injury landmines, consider yourself lucky (for now) as more injuries will surely come down the road as the season progresses.
