Buy Low/Sell High

Week 5 is here, and you are in fight or flight mode. Do not worry; there is a lot of football left, more injuries (unfortunately) to come, and shakeups. It’s to be tactical and think big picture. So many league mates will be bit by the bye bug they need to buy starting this week. My grade school teachers would be highly content with those homophones. Panic will set in for people right now as they add players outside the top 20-30 from waivers, but we will strike while the iron is hot. This is the long con, and we want the top 20 players in their position for the rest of the season.

Buy Low

Breece Hall, RB – NYJ

After the first month of fantasy football, people are panicking. It’s not uncommon for teams to be out of sync for the first month while they find their groove. Last season, Hall was a monster, finishing second for RBs in PPR formats. The Bronco's defense has been a low-key destructive force. If there is ever a time to ship a trade, it’s now. Allen is not going to usurp Hall, so find a player on your team who is primed to be sold high and cash those chips in.

Tee Higgins, WR - CIN

Burrow is back, and Higgins was peppered with 10 targets last week. He hasn’t found the endzone yet. Owners have had him on the bench from his injury and just faced a Panthers team, but the Bengals didn’t have to open the passing throttle. Higgins is in a contract season that will most likely land him as the #1 WR in free agency. He is primed to put on a show and can easily finish inside the top 20 for WRs this season.

Kyler Murray, QB - ARI

After a brutal loss and quarterbacks on the waivers becoming increasingly attractive, you may be able to steal Murray right now. He had at least 45 rushing yards in his first three games, and last week was stonewalled. The bright side is that he had a 73% completion rate, and this is the light I want to shine on. If you are QB needy, I am sending whatever I can spare to acquire Murray and his elite talent after he just burned somebody who started him.

Sell High

Chase Brown, RB – CIN

The Lord giveth, the Lord taketh away…Cincinnati Bengal players. As Brown's stocks rise after a nuclear week, sell them as soon as possible. The plan from the offseason was announced that this would be a dual-threat backfield with a 1A and 1B rushing attack. Moss has out-touched Brown, and they will not face the Panthers every week. If you have him, add him with another decent piece to try and acquire the Halls of the fantasy world.

Dallas Goedert, TE - PHI

You are sitting on a lotto ticket in a desecrated and baron wasteland that is the tight-end market. All top TEs have been a wash so far this season. It won’t stay like this for long, so take advantage. With AJ Brown and DeVonta Smith returning soon, I would get everything I can right now for Goedert. The Eagles are on a bye week right now, so this needs to be strategic. Do not hurt yourself in the process, but if you can afford it or stream this week, milk that cash cow now.

Davante Adams, WR – LV

H-h-hold on. You have a choice. You can have the boat or the mystery box. A boat’s a boat, but the mystery box could be anything; it could even be a boat. Who doesn’t love a good Family Guy reference? Honestly, let somebody else's imagination run wild while you lock up a solid player in return. Adams is 31, and to be quite frank with you, I don’t care where he ends up. Instead, I would get pieces that my team needs to succeed in the long run. Even if he ends up on a contenders team, you will still be ahead if you get more value now for multiple players or one elite player like Hall, Hill, McCaffrey, etc. Shoot for the moon; you’ll end up in the stars.
