Buy Low Sell High Week 6
There is still time to turn things around. The fantasy football season is about making the playoffs in your league. Stop comparing your team to the top guys in your league. Look at the teams in the middle of the pack and determine if you can beat them. All you need to do is make the playoffs, and a fantasy football trade might be the best way to jump-start your roster.
The following are a few fantasy football players I would consider buying low and selling high.
Quick Links
Buy Low
De’Von Achane, RB – MIA
Times feel grim in Miami with injuries and Tua’s concussion scare. They are on a much-needed bye week, as Tua is expected to return in week 8. Look at your league mates' schedules and if they can afford the bye week or any more losses. Chances are, they are low on the standings if they have Achane now. His strength of schedule is promising as the Fins will face the Colts (2nd worst against the run), Cardinals (5th worst), Bills (7th worst), Rams (the worst, dead last!), then his most challenging test against the Raiders (10th worst). The Dolphins will do their best by taking care of the ball, and it will start with the run game. Get him now before it’s too late.
Travis Etienne, RB - JAX
Yes, he is under the buy low. HC Doug Pederson said he banged up his shoulder and didn’t want to take any chances. The hype is all over Tank Bigsby right now, and I want to leave you with this thought. If he were the best running back in Jacksonville, he would have started the season as such. Etienne is averaging 4.4 YPC, and the Jags started the season playing from behind, limiting his workload. You can buy him for pennies on the dollar right now, and he may not be the overall league winner, but he can easily be an upgrade for your RB2 and Flex.
Amari Cooper, WR - CLE
"Be fearful when others are greedy and greedy only when others are fearful." — Warren Buffett.
I am a betting man, and all signs point to Cooper being traded. This is what we are putting all our chips on. We do not want the Cleveland Browns Amari Cooper; we want his next destination, as that team needs him to push into the playoffs. Hello, Bills and Chiefs! Take Jeudy if you want a piece of that offense cheap right now. He dropped a TD, and his stats sheet would have looked much different. If your leaguemates are smart and know Cooper could have real-life trade value, take Jeudy instead, as he will become the new number one in Cleveland.
Sell High
Chuba Hubbard, RB – CAR
The Panthers run game has been effective, and so has Hubbard. Capitalize on that right now while he is hot and relevant because once Jonathan Brooks emerges from IR hibernation, they will want to see what they have in his abilities. He may not become the lead rusher but will dip into Chuba’s workload. You can potentially trade him away right now for some high-valued targets. The schedule isn’t going to get any easier either, as they are about to face the Falcons, Commanders, and Broncos.
Javonte Williams, RB - DEN
After a couple of decent outings, it’s time to out Williams. The marry-go-round of RBs is nothing I want a part of in that backfield. His TDs are getting stolen, and I don’t trust this offense. Instead, I would fill the roster gaps for later and acquire a low RB2/Flex or WR3 for a decent team. Williams has not scored a TD, and his lone fumble came within the 5-yard line, putting him in the endzone doghouse.
Kyle Pitts, TE – ATL
Don’t do this to yourself; you deserve better. Just because he buys you flowers every couple of weeks doesn’t mean you should stand for the weekly abuse. He had a monster game, and TE continues to be up and down. Pitts was still fourth in targets in Kirk-O Chains nuclear Thursday night game. The Bucs secondary was banged up, and that play isn’t sustainable. Fire him off to see if you can straight-up steal him for Tre McBride. Send the trade with a bait piece as well, if needed.
