Fantasy Football Buy Low Sell High Week 8
Time is running out before the trade deadline, and injuries are, unfortunately, a large part affecting teams right now. If you are in playoff aspirations mode right now, act fast and pick your league mates with losing records apart for scraps. There are a few players that you can still acquire and make a deep run with a few that you can sell for maximum value.
Buy Low
De’Von Achane, RB – MIA
There is a strong possibility that Achane is on a losing team right now. With Tua returning and the hourglass on the season running out, they will need to get hotter quickly than the Miami sun. Every successful head coach will tell you that you will fail if you cannot run the ball. Mostert will steal work, but it is nothing like last season. Achane has yet to break a 100-yard rushing game, and that has to be frustrating for owners who paid a heavy admission fee for the ride. In his first two games, he sliced the Jaguars and Bills, averaging 132.5 total yards and a touchdown per game.
Terry McLaurin, WR - WAS
With a problematic matchup and Jayden Daniels injured you may be able to sneak him off an opponent's roster. By the time Daniels is back, Scary Terry has a fantastic upcoming schedule. He faces the Bears, Giants, and the Steelers. After that, it is a cakewalk for the rest of the season and, more importantly, the fantasy playoffs. He is the number one playmaker on this offense at the skilled position and will be up against the Eagles, Cowboys, Titans, Saints, Eagles, and finally, the Falcons. All healthy game environments where passing will be a must.
Jayden Reed, WR - GB
He is the best WR on this team and in a core that is arguably the deepest in the NFL. Do not fret; take Reed. He is tied with Wicks for 18.4% of the target share, and Doubs has more snaps. Reed is carving out the number one role and is a massive playmaker for this team. The Packers are a contender for the NFC this year, and with Love at the helm, they can hit massive offensive totals. Reed is even involved in the rushing scene, whereas the other two are not. Watson has also touched the ball for rushing attempts but is trailing in WR opportunities.
Sell High
Alvin Kamara, RB – NO
Maybe there is a world where Carr comes back, and this team goes back to scoring 45 points a game. I do not want to take that risk, especially if they slide into a losing streak and the Saints want to see what they have in Kendre Miller. Take Kamara and get something you need to win before it is too late.
Tank Bigsby, RB - JAX
This is not for lack of talent; it’s a similar situation to Kamara. Etienne will be back and eating into his role. Ask yourself, will you ever get more for Tank right now? Probably not. Will he be able to carry you to a championship? Probably not. Sell him and get the maximum value. He is ranked 57th for total RB snaps on the season. He is still being rotated around, and they are in constant passing situations because their defense is awful this season.
Diontae Johnson, WR – CAR
With the news breaking that Bryce Young is back in the driver's seat after Dalton stalled out, it does not look like many WR1 finishes ahead for Johnson. There is still an opportunity for Johnson to finish with 10 points a week, but his ceiling has completely collapsed. Sell the pie while it is hot and fresh, get what you can, and move on. Remember Adam Thielen? Well, the TD stealer could return as soon as this weekend.
