DFS Thursday Night Football: Cowboys at Giants

This week we have a pair of NFC East teams sitting at the bottom of the division with a record of 1-2. While it’s still early in the season, this is a big game for both the Cowboys and the Giants. Through three weeks, Dallas is allowing the third most points per game and has the worst red zone defense in the league. The Giants are coming off of a very solid defensive performance, where they racked up a total of 8 sacks. This game has a projected total of 45, with the Cowboys favored by almost a touchdown.

When it comes to building a showdown lineup, it’s important to make sure that it correlates. If your captain is a wide receiver, you want his quarterback as one of your FLEX players. Same goes for if you have a quarterback as your captain. In this case, you’re going to want 2-3 pass catchers to go along with the quarterback.

In this article, I will be putting the players in order of how much exposure I’m going to have. Each game will feature 2-3 options at captain, which are high-priority plays, followed by flex options to round it out.

Captain

WR CeeDee Lamb ($17,700) The Giants will be short-handed at cornerback without rookie Andru Phillips, or Adoree Jackson. In two games against the Giants last season, Lamb totaled 15 receptions for 228 yards and a score. He’s still in search of his first 100 yard game of the season and it just might come tonight. Lamb should be in your lineup no matter what.

WR Wan’Dale Robinson ($7,200) He’s been as consistent as it gets through three weeks, scoring at least 9 DraftKings points in each game. Robinson has also had at least six receptions in two of his three games. Slayton has been limited all week with a thumb injury, so there is a chance Robinson sees his snap share increase. He’s a great value at the captain spot allowing you the flexibility to fit more players in towards the top.

RB Rico Dowdle ($9,600) There are a few ways this game can go where Dowdle could be the He’s led the Cowboys in snap share in each of the past three weeks. Dowdle was also responsible for over 60% of the team's rush attempts last week. If they get up early in this game, we could see the Cowboys lean more on Dowdle.

FLEX

QB Daniel Jones ($9,400) Believe it or not, the Cowboys defense have allowed the fourth-most fantasy points to quarterbacks this season. They have faced two mobile quarterbacks. In Week 1, Deshaun Watson rushed for 39 yards. This past week, Lamar Jackson rushed for 87. Jones has his games where he shows upside with his legs, and the sportsbooks have his line for this game at 31.5. He’s a must if you have Robinson in your captain slot.

QB Dak Prescott ($10,400) It’s tough to do a whole lot if you have Lamb at captain with Prescott in the FLEX. He had his way with Baltimore this past week, throwing for nearly 400 yards and a pair of touchdowns. If you believe Dallas can win big here, you’re going to need Dak.

TE Theo Johnson ($2,400) This kind of feels like Tyler Conklin last week. We’re getting an extreme value on a tight end who plays a lot of snaps, and runs a lot of routes. This past week, the only Giants skill players who had a larger snap share than Johnson were Nabers and Slayton. He shouldn’t be highly owned at all.

TE Jake Ferguson ($7,000) Ferguson had a huge impact on his return to action this past week. He had a 22% target share on just 66% of the snaps. Depending on your build, it might be difficult to find the salary for him.

K Brandon Aubrey ($5,000) Not even sure what to say here. Aubrey is 10/10 to start the season already, picking up right where he left off. He could see plenty of opportunities in this one.

RB Tyrone Tracy Jr. ($2,800) The rookie out of Purdue has seen his snap share increase every single week. Singletary did lose a fumble this past week, so there is a chance we see Tracy even more if that trend continues.
